Angry Birds Flock Favorites Level 29-9 Walkthrough

One strategy for Angry Birds Flock Favorites Level 29-9 is to send the yellow bird through the ropes. With some luck, badpiggy should pop. Then drop the bomb bird below the landing capsule. The score in the video below is 84,000 even.

Extra points if you can get the balloon to go up and take out the triangles.

right, did it like this: 1st medium high arc, activate to go through top-left triangle and then via ceiling through first two ropes and lower part of third rope onto cart; 2nd a bit lower releasing at the moment balloon becomes visible (playing fully zoomed in; timing is essential) detonating when right next to balloon, such that space ship collapses to the right and balloon is sent forcefully to the right (and a bit upward) taking out the last two ropes; hope for the balloon to bounce onto the triangles taking them out and for the ropes to fall down on remnants of the cart. always 65k+ destruction with 70k+ not infrequent (for a 90k+ score). my current best is 92.5k with three triangles left, so more possible.

TY @vuelva for this strat. I liked it better than the other stats mentioned later. I just did better with this one. The space ship(?) seems to land more to the right into the debris when dropping from higher up?

It does take some practice to get the balloon to go where you want it to go.

On one play, I did miss the far right pig on the vine on my first shot. Missing the far right pig, I didn’t expect to even clear 3 stars. I sent the balloon over to the right, it got the hanging pig (vine and all) to fall, plus it bounced around and it got the two top right triangles along with the other ball (on the second from the righ vine) to fall. All crashed down on the debris below for my current score of 92k. Yeah!

I am a bit ashamed over my current top score. I sent yellow through the ropes and managed to kill the one on the ground with debris. Then all of a sudden another drops from above! I just flung the black bird in panic towards it. I go here and enter my score and continue on with the next level. When I’m done (3* in all levels) I go back to work on getting g above average in as many levels I can – and realize when I look at the board that I have the top score on this level.

I have no clear idea how that happened.

Hm. True, one cannot duplicate the initial “panic” they feel the first time they see the dropping pig/contraption, but @jbygden‘s post did give me an idea that perhaps helped me to break 90k. It occurred to me that since he wasn’t anticipating the dropping pig, the contraption was probably a bit closer to the ground than where I normally aim for the bird to meet up with the balloon, so I adjusted my angle and timing just a wee bit, and presto! a 190k score ;-)

ah, another one of my top scores beaten (the 3rd just today …), by another method, see below, which makes the above less relevant (but still fun).

interestingly, i always get notifications about my top scores being beaten, but not about this one. my hypothesis is that there is a (minor) bug in the notification algorithm showing up when a top score being held by more than one person is beaten (@admins ?; in this case it was being held by me and moareiter).

thanks. yesterday i was happy to achieve single-digit rankings (which is the for me aesthetically more pleasing version of top-ten rankings; slightly different from it because for some reason rankings start from 1 instead of from 0) for the first time (but not so anymore today i just noticed). i still have three levels to play for, i.e. levels where my score currently is more than 2k behind top score (4,10,13; of which only for the last i’m unsure of the strategy). but similar gains are also possible in several other levels (e.g. 7,8,12,15) by a lot of repetition (and a slightly different strategy for 8) i think.

hm. looking at your scores, most of them are already close (which was to be expected given that you’re ranked 4th currently) so gains may come at a rate not better than 1k per hour… maybe levels 13-15?

speaking of the real world (tending to the garden): i’ll be off (line) for the next two weeks (mainly sailing). i’m curious whether some of you will have surpassed my episode total score by then (sanjizoro may succeed in it even today). happy flinging/gardening.

i see you succeeded in improving your score on 15. my best score thus far (142k) on 13 i got by activating the 1st just left-of-and-below the big stone. also got several good (140k) scores (both 1- and 2-birders) by a high arc, dropping the egg on the right in the gap right of the tnt, sending the carcass onto the triangular stone, and hoping for the best.

i will travel tonight. the weather looks promising.

Not a great score though fun to watch. 82,610 flung yellow bird to take out 4 ropes. Bird hit the contraption with the propeller. Set the propeller free it then progressed slowly back across the wooden blocks and munched them. Pushed a boulder back to contraption. Then went back left for more wood. Then back to boulder near contraption. Finally smashed the boulder and ate the king pig. Bomb bird for dropping space ship. Took about 5 mins to let the propeller do its thing.

Like most, you are looking for 44-45k after first bird. Key to high scores without hitting the falling piggie in the air is to get the structure to flip to the right when it lands. This happens frequently, but on my best, it flipped another half rotation and closer to the remaining debris. The bomb bird then snuggles nicely underneath it and the collateral damage is impressive.

This strat worked for me in the end, although I had a bunch of ideal setups before I got my PR. There is one more factor here that I think is critical that hasn’t been addressed yet: the hanging ornaments. Whether they are hanging or lying on the ground after dropping, they are worth big points if struck (not necessarily destroyed) by the right bird. For example, striking the big rock with the bomb bird is worth 3K. Hitting a big wood piece with Chuck is worth 1.7K, I think.

Well, that was incredibly easy. Today’s challenge took me 15 minutes, 10 of which was figuring out the right strategy. Either I’ve been extremely lucky or this level has been made much easier, like several recent levels featured in the challenge.
Anyhow, this was how I did it: first bird through the little pig hanging on the left and hitting the large wooden boulder on the right. Second bird at 45 degrees up, hitting the bottom of the balloon (needs some proper timing) from the falling piggies and bouncing back down to the debris. It hit the large stone and destroyed most of the wood. You can see the angle in the first screenshot.
I imagine lots more puppies will follow, there was potential for more points. The balloon did not even fly to the right after I hit it.

When you time the 2nd shot right you can get a nice rebound of the bomb into the debris on the ground – I found it pretty consistently landed by the large stone boulder, with varying amounts of destruction.
I aimed at about 45 degrees like you, & tried to fling as soon as the pig in the stone square appeared to get the right angle on the ricochet.

Following his strat, or should I say trying to follow since I can’t get aiming & timing correct, this morning, before coffee no less, I broke 91k with 91760 for at least a Top 50 score, but my timing is still way off. I’ve only managed to force ballon all the way down, let alone to large stone exactly once.

Congrats angrychicken on another cuddly pup !!! Was this on your listed device, the iPod Touch? I’m so Apple illiterate that I don’t even know what that is. I ask about device & platform because I’ve always been a firm believer that there are ever so slight differences between platforms and/or devices … no disrespect intended, but based on personal experience alone, the platform & device can change, as in my case. Despite the fact my listed device is still Android as I believe it represents most of my scores, for the last 18 or so months I think my most recent scores are from my iPad. With this level, I’m pretty sure my scores differences are due to screen size.

@justpast40 Thanks, I’m starting to feel a little embarassed reading how much effort other people have to do. I’m sorry you didn’t manage to get a puppy. Maybe it is because dogs don’t get along very well with cats… perhaps you are better off going for a kitten in stead?
All my scores are from my iPod except the facebook tournament which is sometimes on PC. An iPod is like an iPad that fits in your pocket. They have the same OS so there should be no difference in angry birds between those two. I am sure that there’s a significant difference between an iPod and, for example, an android device. Just recently I was replaying The Pig Days 1-13 and it’s almost impossible to 1-bird while the comments say it should happen ‘every few tries’ (I still have a crappy score). In the facebook tournament this gap is even more noticeable. The birds behave completely different on PC compared to all mobile devices and if you want to get anywhere near the top you will have to utilize both. It’s just part of the competition I guess.

Sorry for the long post, it’s the middle of the night and I have nothing better to do.

Can’t see this strategy here and it has just given me 2 scores just shy of 94k in quick succession.

First bird: sweep across the top taking out all the hanging pigs which fall and kill off the one on the ground. Should get about 45k. Straightforward.

Second bird: aim up at about 50 degrees and fire before the descending balloon comes into sight. You need to have a counting method from the point at which the pig on the ground dies. I just say one two and then fire. Something you can repeat. Anyway, the aim is for the second bird to come horizontally across the bottom the balloon knocking its feet off. The feet and the black bird all fall into the debris on the ground and explode. The balloon falls but with no feet, the Piggies perish. Now even with the balloon itself not contributing much, the ground damage is high. Maybe good enough for a high score with more luck?
