well, there’s still a bug in this level in ios. within 2 minutes of trying it (i.e. within 2 minutes after downloading the v5.1.0 update on my ipad), upon clearing the last pig on the right, the score went back to zero, background was made darker and then some fireworks showed; waited for a minute or so, then decided to reset. after that, my previous high score was reset to zero. no harm done in this case, since it was just a three-star score.

I wasn’t aware of this bug until I returned here to work on my score. Soon after increasing my score a good bit the level crashed and my high score reset. So as of July 4th it still is there. Using iPhone 6.

It just happened to me too. I lost my improved score of 130000ish. Next time I get a good score, I’m stopping playing!

gave it a quick go, as i only had a 125k score so nothing to lose, and quickly got to 142k/1 by using stella in the way described by ronscarboro, this time lifting quite some material to the right, to make the right part of the lower structure collapse, with that combined with the exploding tnt making the left part of the structure collapse to the left. not a great score, but good enough to wait for a stable version now.

This glitch still exists – when the right TNT exploded everything disappeared except for the slingshot & the yellow bird sitting in it.
I hard-closed the game when it happened, & never lost my score.

Same and yet different for me, after chuck suddenly my framerate dropped to 1/30 – yes 1 frame / 30 sec – removing everything in about 12 frames. Curiosity comes with a price, now I’m stuck with a 148k 2 bird glitch score, I will not enter. Sort of feel like a dodo, I think I’ll sign out of this challenge…

I wonder what Stella is doing here…

Anyway, Stella is flung directly to the top horizontal wood plank. No activation, no nothing, what a waste of talent.

I wish I could have found a smart strategy but if it exists it has eluded me.

Anyway, all the balloons are set free and you can only hope for a good destruction.

Curious and curiouser! Had the reset back to zero/zero, almost completely blank screen, with just three birds sitting on a blank background but on reboot I seem to have lost my high score altogether. Hahaha?.

I had a similar experience. After reaching 143,150, I kept playing and noticed that I had a zero score after clearing the level. Then the zero score happened again, but the game crashed before I got the screenshot. My mistake was continuing to try to determine what was causing the problem. The third time it occurred, the high score was reset. Screenshots are in my album.

After some more investigation, I was able to reset the high score two more times. Both resets occurred with the red bird hitting the wheel and then the horizontal board supporting the wheel. The second time the red bird may have hit both simultaneously.

I explained a workaround previously. It’s (no offense) not rocket science, although I am a rocket scientist with a degree from UMD which beat out Slim’s MIT that year by three slots, coming in at #3
It is not practical for many of us to switch to airplane mode to fling.
And if not in airplane mode, it is not always possible to click the end level button when stuff is still falling and points are still counting.
So, why don’t we say if you get a puppy score, and the annoying keep playing thing pops up, try to get a snap.
But if you don’t, and the tally screen has a lightning bolt, replay the level and snap the score.
If it was the annoying keep playing lightning bolt, it won’t show up next time, but if a power up was actually used, or the keep playing was selected, and that is the high score, it will show up on a a separate line

It is correct that if you replay the level after getting the obnoxious continue playing offer, the top score showing does not have the lightning bolt. But my recollection is that the reason why we decided to require a screenshot of the tally screen is that the tally screen is now the only place a lightning bolt shows if a power up is used. In other words, I thought a true power up assisted top score no longer shows with a lightning bolt from within the level. I never use power ups so don’t know personally. If someone can confirm that using a power up DOES show a lightning bolt next to the top score when you are playing the level, then this alternative to airplane mode would work for the Challenge. Hope this makes sense – if not, I’ll try to clarify.

Sweet @skowse. My 141 was with two birds singing I knew theoretically that a 1 birda could approach and perhaps surpass 150. But I’ve been following Asher and hitting the board.
So maybe Stella’s talent isn’t wasted after all!

BTW – the bug noted above is still there. Just now as I activated Stella everything disappeared and just a blank background was left. I closed out the game immediately, and when I restarted my score was intact, and not set to zero as some players experienced. Just for info :))

Followed @asher strategy with Stella up top and second bird to destroy everything else right through to the TNT. I had a lot more damage on the first two towers and managed to get top score. There may be a little more in it yet.
