Angry Birds Birdday Party Cake 4 Level 14 Walkthrough

Our strategy for Angry Birds Birdday Party (Birthday Party) Cake 4 level 14 is to toss the Black bird into the main structure. Either target the middle of the wall or the small ice blocks near the roof. Based on the destruction, bomb the debris while ricocheting the White bird into the piggy above. The score in the video below is 155,960.

I used this strat by @steviep147. He found the “sweet spot” for this level, thank you!
After hundreds of flings I finally broke past 160k.

There are 2 small rocks around the boulder, one on each side. Aim for the small rock sitting on top of the boulder leaning against the wood on the structure.

I found the best position for launching BB is to pull the sling all the way down so the outside edge of the sling is lined up the tip of the point on the rock formation ….or…. the bottom of BB is just touching the rock point where the sling wraps around BB bottom (hard to see sling black on bird black). Depending on how hard the sling is pulled down, you might need to adjust one very very very small click or pixel to the right. One small pixel difference can make or break a direct hit to the small rock.

The “sweet spot” is a direct hit to the small rock with the bomb bird coming to rest on top of the boulder against the wood on the building (right where the small rock was), let it “do its thing” (self explode) and watch the destruction. With a successful first shot you should have over 95k points from the structure collapsing (not including the pig in the cart), over 100k is very doable.

The second shot is probably the hardest, this is where I usually choke and miss. That’s the challenge…. to get this shot right without choking! Try to bring down all the rocks from the top including the two triangles, this will give you the best chance to score over 155k.

I have benefited from so many others who have written detailed instructions in most all levels throughout ABN.
I hope this detail will help someone down the road too. :-)

For the second bird, I have better luck not bombing the cart directly, but with the same low arc drop the egg just to the left. This almost always works for me and often brings down the entire top structure, except maybe one triangle.

It’s always a problem if self-destruction is observed after you fling, because sometimes the bird flung can affect the level, even if it hasn’t reached the structure. Don’t know that this happens in ABO, but has been observed elsewhere.

After resetting I wait at least 5 seconds to detect the beginning of a shift. If a shift occurs, only then did I wait longer, but so far no collapse.

The time it did collapse, I could see the structure heading for certain collapse an immediate instant after releasing the bird. Before the bird landed, the structure was destroyed by the exploding TNT, plus the cart.

I tried hard closing the app a few times to see the effect that had. After one reset I wasn’t getting any shifting in 25 resets. On most resets, I get them every 10 – 20 resets, sometimes more often. As you can see, I haven’t yet determined a pattern.

I am still working this level in the normal way, but will keep an eye out.

There has been some observance of deterministic self-destruction following a hard restart followed by opening another level and then the one on which you are looking for self-destruction (see forum on self-destroying levels).

Rank: Boss Hog with 14970 points

@mvnla2 yes, I did play other levels first before getting the collapse. When I tried the hard resets, sometimes I purposely opened another level and other times I didn’t. It didn’t seem to make a difference, I could get fairly frequent leans either way, but there were a few times I didn’t get any leans after numerous soft resets. For anyone trying for this, I would just recommend hard resetting until frequent leans occur, about every 20 or so resets.

Well dear, thanks for the message which caused me to go back to Birdday, thus I developped my scores a bit.
It was hard to remember at the first moment, but while I checked the comments I remembered that I followed the strategy recommended by Dr O’Neski.
So I repeated this strategy. It works. This morning I was very close to repeat two times.
Just as Dr says BB must break the small boulder and rest on the big one. Explosion activates the car leftwards and then to right. As it goes down TNT explodes. I was very lucky at that point because the long wood went and broke the triangle glass under the top structure. 1 bird and that is all.
Currently, if I can find time, I am working on my Starwars scores.
That shifting you have mentioned happened twice today, but I was focused on the angle of the BB, therefore I saw it after launching, but it did not repeat.

Hi bonneypattycat. This was a 1-birder from me using Dr O’Nelski’s strategy. I dropped the BB onto the small rock on top of the boulder and broke the rock, BB slid to the right and I let it explode by itself. I spent hours (or it could have been days!) trying to make this happen, and eventually I got lucky to score 164,150. I’m revisiting all the AB games I have on my iPad trying to improve my scores from early 2013 and this time recording them on the leader boards. I have a long way to go but I’m a bit surprised at the improvement since last year.

I think I’m totally addicted to AB now and it will probably take an “AB Anonymous” self help group to wean me off the games!

I wasn’t trying very hard, just lazily flinging the bomb bird low over the cart to the structure and letting it self-detonate, just to see what wonderful things might happen. Sometimes the cart gets blown up, and sometimes the top right will get nudged and fall down, usually it is the cart. On my 167k turn, all the lower stuff and the cart blew up, all that remained was the top right pieces. I can see an awesome 1-birder happening soon. So a different strategy based on Doc (@steviep147) comment ;-)

Bomb high arc through the vertical wood plank to the small stone on top of the big one.
At first the idea was to take the small stone (they are worth 3k), but the unintended effect is the destruction of the table on the left of the TNT cake.
That is if Bomb finishes close to it like this before exploding.

This is the result after a successful first bird. Up to 125k is possible at this point.

The second bird is then used to clear some debris and break the glass triangle of the top right structure.

I have had several 170k+ scores using this strategy and here is the trajectory and the final result for my 174k score.
