Angry Birds Seasons: Christmas 3 Star Walkthrough Level 1-2

Our strategy for Season’s Greedings level 1-2 is to loft the first White bird between the first two towers, bombing as low as possible. Use the next White bird to bomb — or in the video’s case, crash weakly into — the damaged structure in the middle. Finish off with a Yellow bird through whatever debris remains. The score in the video is 92,750.

If you have a different strategy feel free to leave a comment below; however, don't just post your score via the comments, as that's what the leaderboards are for.

Try this. Fire the first bird as in the video but fly as low as possible over the second tower and this will take practice. Fire the egg eariler than in the video. Aim for the first pig. This will cause the second and third towers to fall but it takes time. Wait and this will give you 40,000 points or more. The second bird you will aim for the top bird farthest to the right. With luck the second bird takes out all the pigs.
Sometimes the first bird fired will also take out the top level of birds. If that happens aim the second bird formthe closest bird.

You cannot get this with over 2 birds as then you will not have enough points. You must have the last 2 birds for the 10,000 points each
Good luck. Kg.

Whoa. Just grabbed the top score on this one. First bird shot high and dropped right down on top of the 2nd pig, dropping the bomb at the last second. Took the second tower out along with everything between the first and send towers.

2nd bird shot directly into the first tower, high up, dropping the bomb right before hitting the tower. This collapses the first tower pretty well. I got VERY lucky on this shot. The w/b bounced up and dropped onto the front of the 3rd tower taking out the final pig and collapsing the 3rd tower.

My planned third shot was to try to hit use the y/b to take out the final bird and collapse the last tower.

Try dropping the first egg right next to the inside of the first tower (it’s easier when you don’t have to worry about dropping the bird inside as well). The goal is for the stone blocks to not cover the wood pieces next to the middle tower while blowing the top pieces into the valley on the left. Throw the second bird low over the second tower and drop an egg right next to the inside of the last tower, work to get pieces to roll off the back. Aim high with the yellow bird and click when he’s flying downward toward the center pig. If it all works out, you should get them all with 90k points.

after playing this morning i would have been surprised if there wouldn’t have been some puppies today (then getting 102k after a mediocre 18k first (where 22k+ destruction just from the tower is possible) so 105k scores seem(ed) quite within reach; this is supported by the above picture), so i am happy to have gotten one now. for the same reason i also expect the score to be beaten soon. good luck.

@gladvold i was also playing the higher lob; not that i think that it matters for the result, but just because timing the release of the egg is easier, i think, since the forward speed is lower. indeed, i did get my 2-bird 100k+ score also by holding back on the 3rd (after firing the 2nd i decide very quickly whether or not to send the 3rd).

the point is that to me it feels like a waste of space to put a permanent picture in my album and (a distraction of the readers) of the comment section to have a permanent link to that picture (comments cannot be edited), since the picture is used only once (to verify the score) and for that matter only a very small part of the picture (the score), it being completely uninformative otherwise.

i always feel disappointed to open a screenshot of some high score, just to see the intact level showing the score, without a clue of the trajectory used or the final destruction or …, so, as in this case, i try to avoid to do that myself.

the two kinds of pictures serve different purposes, being informative about that the score was achieved vs how it was achieved, and since the former already follows from the leaderboard, it would be better to separate the two, i think. maybe some upload button of lua files or pictures just for score verification purposes (need not be restricted to the challenge) without leaving a permanent trace, or is that naive? simpler could be to provide the screenshot in a separate comment, and that the comment and picture are removed (by the user or you) after verification (the problem being how to avoid dangling pointers to them); i would be happy to do that, but don’t know whether it’s a viable option/workable solution for you.

After the changes made to the white bird in the Piglantis update, there’s an easy strategy for 86k+. Send the first bird in a high arc to land in the middle of the first two towers and drop the bomb just to the left of the second pig as low to the wood as possible. This will explode all of the wood supports in that gap, allowing the entire middle tower to crumble. Only the two side towers and the rightmost pig should still be standing. Send the second bird to the far tower, dropping the bomb at the last moment to pop the pig and push over the tower. Then quickly fire the yellow bird into the wood near the base of the near tower, which should cause most of it to fall left for extra points.

The company behind the game, Rovio, keeps that a secret.”. funny, because i am quite sure that rovio doesn’t know either; that indeed no one knows. although in principle one could write down the equations (having variables to account for the variance in the initial placement of the elements) and solve the resulting optimisation problem, but there are just way too many variables to make this a tractable problem for all but the simplest of levels i think. (for an indirect argument: if rovio could compute/know maximum scores from a given set-up and selection of birds, then they surely would be able to compute/know 0-bird maximum scores; but obviously they don’t, because many levels allowing a 0-bird solution have been disabled in later updates.)

There is always some slight variance in the score even with exactly the same shot and effect. This is most notable in levels that allow for 100% descruction, yet that give a different final score.

okay I haven’t read any comments so this is my unspoiled description of what I do which seems to give out 95-96k without a lot of time investment…. maybe 10 minutes….but i’m not sure

Bird 1) Low or High arc, doesn’t even really matter. Goal is to drop egg as close as possible to the right side of the leftmost tower without hitting the top of the tower. This effectively blows the left tower to the left and out of the way

Bird 2) Low arc may work but I like to do a high arc for this shot….Goal is to drop egg close as possible to the left side of the rightmost tower. This effectively blows this tower to the right. You want White bird to also clip the top corner of the top on it’s fly-away so that it stays in the action and helps kill the tiny pig near the right tower. (although if this pig lives it’s okay too, ,lol)

shots 1 and 2 can also be interchanged.

Bird 3) Ok, hopefully now you are looking at about 40k with 4pigs left, or 45k with 3 pigs left…..although you may have already cleared the level with the first two shots. All that should remain, really, is the center structure. Sling Yellow bird up super high (although your specific conditions may dictate something flatter) and then cut thru and down the left side of the center tower , aiming for the pig at the bottom center….. with just some minor help with a good debris crumble you should be looking at a happy score

I will post some screen shots to help

I guess I will shade this as new strat, although my apologies to anybody who has already shared it.

good luck

There is sometimes a partial collapse of upper right corner of left tower. You need to wait around 3 minutes, and it gave me twice around 7k. I am unsure it can help to get good scores, however, since most strats favor this tower to collapse to the left.

I employed the strategy of ISAAC with the high arc of @gladvold. Three birds, 104,030. This worked really well even when one of the first two shots seemed muffed.

Another puppy ! I used the strategy of @angrychicken & the refinements posted by others. Thanks to all !!

First bird to left side of far right tower, drop egg as deep into corner as possible. This should destroy the right tower. Second bird, high lob, dropping egg just to the right of left tower. This should take out most of the left tower.
Finally, yellow bird as low as possible over left tower debris, into wood structure around bottom pig. So far, this was good for 104,310 points

I wasted some flinging time because I was using 3rd bird along a high arc (which gave me several 100k scores), before I realize that several people recommended to use a low arc. Then, after 15 minutes, I had my almost 104k score. Many thanks to @vuelva and others for the tip. Although I never played this level before, I suspect that it had become (much) easier than it was previously.

Finally home from work and decided to try my luck in today’s challenge on the iPad. I play on iPhone at work. For the life of me, I could not even come close to the multiple times I beat the challenge score on iPhone. The scoring was significantly different. I have version 5.1.1 on iPhone and version 5.0.0 on iPad. I made the same first shot on each which had almost the same debris remaining (one block difference) but had a difference in score of over six thousand points. I have posted screenshots below. So basically anyone wanting to be competitive in today’s challenge cannot be playing on older version of Seasons.

Wow, @wicket182! Who woulda thunk there’d be such a huge difference in points for the same level? It seems as if no matter which AB game you play, higher scores are much easier to achieve with the latest updates. That explains the multiple puppies adopted lately!

Thanks for sharing this with us!

Holy Cow!!! I can’t believe the score I just got!!! 107390 ;-) Yippee!!!

Luckily I was able to get a screenshot of what remained…so often in the last several months when I go to take screenshots, the level closes and I loose my score. Season’s VERY often crashes on me even during game play.

I used three birds with the basic idea of @Isaac‘s strat listed above ;-)

Here’s what I did exactly…I hope something I write will help others…

First bird in a medium arch to the right side of the first tower…dropping egg as close as possible so that it tumbles left.

Second bird in a high arch dropping egg as close as possible to the left side of the far right structure so it tumbles to the right.

The middle tower remained completely intact which I think was the key to my high score. Otherwise, things can fall wrong and block your third shot. Third, I sent YB in a flat arch and tapped for his speed boost pretty late…Here’s my screenshot:

I really am so thankful my level didn’t crash like it SO often does! I’m so glad I was able to show the final debris remaining for others as I know that can be helpful ;-)
