Cave 13

Started this forum to collect strategies for Cave 13. Any suggestions for good strategies, preferably that don’t involve large amounts of potions?
It would also be useful to list opponents in some of the more difficult caves. Unfortunately, I haven’t been keeping track.
Cave 13 wasn’t that bad for the first level or 2, but then the levels started to have a huge Haymaker or Frost Hog in the middle. Piece of cake, right?
Level 13-5 must have 5 or 6 levels in a row with huge Haymakers or Frost Hogs. The easy levels only have 2 opponents with large (not huge) health and large damage.
Suggestions for the boss level in Cave 12, might work here, but Prince Porky didn’t help me in Cave 13.

Cave 13-6 is 5 waves, and not all that bad. Worst enemies are <9K.
13-7 is 7 waves; not too bad
13-8 is 10 waves, haven’t played it yet

@mvnla2 What level are you at? I’m at 39 and am finding Cave 13 quite hard. I know the enemies are level 41 regardless of your level. And why so high on Prince P? Extra damage from his buff?

Yo finalicé ayer mismo la cueva 13, te recomiendo que todos tus pájaros tengan ataque en cadena + curación (especialmente en los niveles 8 – 9).
Creo recordar, que utilicé:

Red Paladin con el kit marrón (ataque en cadena)
Chuck “aumento de guindilla” con cualquier kit sirve
Blues Espias con el arco y flechas (ataque critico)

Aparte, necesitarás bastantes pociones nivel 4 o superior + pastel que cura a los 3 pájaros + pastel de guindilla.

En conclusión, yo era nivel 39, pero al progresar en las mandadas y reinicializando el nivel, subí al nivel 40, por eso me resultó algo más fácil.

Cave 13-8: 10 waves, not nearly as bad as 5
I’m now level 40, and used Paladin level 8, Princess level 7, and borrowed Sea Dog level 10. Sea Dog had more health than my Paladin, so my Paladin, Princess, and Sea Dog strategy didn’t work as well as normal, but worked out OK (got 3*). Had to use some potions, but not excessive.

Unless I made a mistake it seems like the Brawler’s attack mode changed from wave 2 to wave 9.

@mvnla2 That first Brawler is a special one that Rovio puts in the levels sometimes. I find him annoying to fight.

Cave 13-9 is 10 waves, and very similar in difficulty to 13-8, i.e. not terribly difficult but tedious. I did use some potions, but not that many.

Cave 13-10: 1 wave, but it’s an incredible boss level, as usual.
Winter Soldier: 53625, 2540 in 2 turns + stun for 2 turns [edit]: (single target)
Ice Barrier protects for 13406
Ignores damage less than 242
Any suggestions anyone?

@mvnla2 I haven’t met him yet but I could imagine Princess Paladin and either Captain Tricksters or Pigiana being useful.

@mvnla2 @partshade Indeed, paladin, princess and pigiana for dispelling do the trick for 33000 point = 3*.

@mvnla2 Just like @partshade mentioned, Paladin, Princess and either Captain, Tricksters or Pigiana Jones are a solid 3 star strategy for the Cave 13 boss. This boss is easy relatively speaking.

@mvnla2 I took my Paladin and Skulkers and Matilda Druid borrowed from friend. It wasn’t difficult battle but it took several turns.

@fangston @mighty-red-1 @cosmo2503 — Got through Cave 13-10 with Paladin, Princess and Pigiana Jones, but only got 2 stars. I’m level 41, but my Paladin is still 8, and Princess is 7. Think I need to get them to a higher level to get 3 stars.
Different question — If you are about to win the battle, should you make sure that your birds are at full health? Not clear to me whether using your birds and or potions to heal is better than finishing the battle.

@mvnla2 I did use potions in the final round for healing. Got 33000 points (3X10000 + 3000 for the boss) which was enough for 3 stars

@mvnla2 I think healing is way more valuable than one less round. You’re getting back thousands of points from healing; one turn is not removing that many from your total.

Translation of @adryan’s post above. Meant to do this sooner, but. Also hope it is reasonably accurate:
“I finished yesterday Cave 13 yesterday [Wed.]. I recommend that all your birds have chain attack + healing (especially in levels 8-9).
I remember that I used:

Red Paladin with brown kit (chain attack)
Chuck “increased chili’ [= Wizard?] with any kit
Blues Spies with bow and arrows (attack critical)

You also need a lot of level 4 or above [pig cherry juice] + [fruit cake] that heals the 3 birds + chili pie [burning veggie cake].

In conclusion, I was level 39, but as I progressed through the cave I went up to level 40, so I found it somewhat easier.

@mvnla2 Full health is important in every boss fight if you want 3 stars. Before delivering the final blow, you must restore full health for all characters. Whether to do it with birds or potions, it comes down to your style of play.

@mvnla2 Health is the best thing ever! If you want three stars full health is the way to go.
