The best strategy for Wreck the Halls level 23 is to use the White bird to bomb the TNT. The lower the trajectory of the White bird, the lower the trajectory of the stones. It takes a few tries, but high scores will follow. Use the Yellow birds as necessary. The score in the video below is 77,080.

1 bird, very high so it comes down toward TNT, but release egg just before hitting it. If you are lucky, the bird and stones knock the house down.
2 birds, 89040. First bird got everything except for one little pig. The 2nd bird got that and knocked the tower over (next to the house).
Heres a trick I found that helps You get most of the rocks to hit the house out front.
Launch the white bird as low as possible in such a way that it releases the egg in the space between the TNT and rocks. Haven’t been able to use this to my advantage yet though.
I did this for a one-birder. 86k.

Good morning! 89770 so far with one bird. The clue is to hit TNT so low that the white bird hits the main structure toppling everything over. Should be able to reach 100000!
Just to make clear: the tiny rocks must also hit structure with full force. The white bird will hit the top of the roof, dragging everything over:)
I agree. Detonate the TNT and get the white bird to hit the house. It’s not easy, but that’s the only way I’ve found to get a “one birdie”.
Yesss! I knew it would be possible to get over 100000 points with one bird. Finally the stonetower behind the “house” tipped over and voila lots of collateral damage leaving me with 101.360

I used this strat, wasn’t able to get that killer score but I was able to get some of the structure to fall right so a bit more damage was done for a better score. After days of trying I’m tired of playing this mind numbing level! Thanks @jomasa and congrats on a wicked score!!

It’s also possible to make the house collapse by using the first bird at the base of the structure, but it’s quite difficult to repeat. This strategy can yield three stars with some luck if you then fire the yellow bird into the TNT to clean up the three rightmost pigs, but it’s harder and lower-scoring than the white-bird-into-TNT method.
1-23, 84160 w/2 Birds.. Its the 1st shot that takes advantage of the w/b trajectory into the structure.

I am in the states, playing AB at 4:30AM. Not sure what insomniacs did before AB!
79,810 one bird
I used the “egg the dynamite” method. Took several times, but eventually it worked perfectly.
Drop the egg on the leeward side of the dynamite, either on the dynamite itself or between the dynamite and the rocks. This gives the rock extra “push” from the egg-bomb itself and flings them into the house.
Whole thing shattered, dropping bits onto the far pig as well.
I used the same method and receive 90270 total score. Aim between TNT and rocks.
86790 1 bird. I find that aiming for the V between the TNT and the rocks and releasing right on impact does the trick. Ragerdless of the bird also hitting the house, this method seems to get the best number of rock hits on the structure. I often get the far right present as well from collateral damage not the bird. If something direct hits the virtical beside its usually enough to take out the present.

86,540 with one bird. Dropped the egg in between the TNT and the small rocks. Took the whole house down and got both gift boxes. There seems to be potential for more points however!?!
Zoom out all the way (it helps). Fire a white bird and hit the TNT. You may need a yellow bird to finish it off. Repeat until you get three stars.
I used the high-arc, low release of the egg bird and dropped the egg between the TNT and the rocks to clear the entire level with a score of 89,290.
94870 with one bird. Same method of between the TNT & rocks with the added ingredient called luck. I see somebody actually hit 96!

I’d definately second the high arc method. Best I could manage with the ‘across the top of the Christmas tree’ method was 75K, with high arc just got 91,530. I couldn’t seem to get close enough to the top of the tree without clipping it, high arc is much easier to get the “V” sweet spot.
I had no luck with the high arc method. Got 95,150 with the straight across the TNT method. Just a lucky shot for me, I think.
A tricky level! got 83960 with one bird! will have to keep on trying!
89440 with one bird – low level over tnt, dropped in ‘V’, bird and stones hit the house which fell in slow motion. Still debris, one present and hams left so looking at possible second shot to see if more points can be found
This is a little bit of a frustrating day. I’ve managed a good, but not great score of 86,300 that I can’t seem to beat. And I see some people are hitting the Score Addict threshold, but I’m a day away (currently 49k short). Didn’t realize I was that far behind the top players.
Gotta keep working.
I would say for those who are still struggling with 3*s – as opposed to just trying to get a high score – don’t give up if your first shot doesn’t do the trick. Everyone seems to be talking about the one-bird shot, but it takes a lot of luck. I’ve one-birded a few times, but got my high score of 84k with three birds. There’s more than one way to skin a pig!!
Congrats to all who’ve achieved the score addict (some of you top class flingers got it yesterday).’Only’ needed 80k last night and naively thought a 100k level today would see me through it easily only for those sneaky devils at rovio to give us a low scoring level – arrgh. After many many attempts (and loads of 70k – 80k scores) finally managed to crack the 85k barrier, which will do for me (for now).Thanks to all of you for your great stratagies on this and all other levels and I wish you all a very Happy Christmas.

Anyone else notice how similar this level is to a “sand shot” in golf, where you use a club – a wedge – to basically explode the sand behind where your ball is stuck in the sand. The good players will tell you that your club face should strike the sand behind the ball at a downward angle, causing the displaced sand to force your ball up in the air. Just thought I’d share my winter hallucination as it’s not likely I will be playing any golf here in the frozen tundra of the Midwest U.S. before March of next year. By that time we should be finished with the very green St. Patrick’s Day levels and waiting patiently for my favorite ABS targets: Easter eggs and bunnies galore! Aloha.

Sand shot, eh? @surfcow, now you’ve gone and done it! I’ve been debating whether or not to dust off my clubs and head over to the driving range for some practice and decided it was still way too hot (over 100°F) the past two weeks. But, now you’ve got my palms itchin’ to play a few rounds. Hahaha!
This one kind of reminds me of the Rio level with teh hovering White parrot, needing to time hits right to maximize the damage the piles of stones do to the bird.
I am finding this one hard to get above 80K.
It took a number of tries, but I finally got +90k with one bird by shooting the white bird low and dropping the bomb just left of the TNT. Rocks and bird hit the house and the whole thing came down.

This is the only level I have ever had to give up on. Can’t get any higher. Got 1 birder but only low score. Reckon I’ve played for about 4 hrs so far with a little sleep in between. Just wish I could crack the 90k+. Wish the guys with 96k would post a video on zoomed out mode so we could see where the egg drops. Oh well, maybe better luck tonite on #24. Good luck all. Finally,I beat this level with one bird.Throw White Bird and drop the egg in middle of TNT and rocks.The wood should fall and the present,it should kill all pigs except one.The wood would fall on the pig that’s undefeated and kills him.I got a score of 87,320

I suppose it’s possible that JW figured out how to “zero bird” this one and he conjured up a mega SESH that automagically destroyed every last spiral-sliced ham on this level (and judging from his 30000 point advantage over the previous hi-score getter, JW must have borrowed a few “items” from levels 1-22 and 1-24 as well.) @jwfisherman — Congrats! Your top score has lasted more than a year, and no one has yet figured out how to come close. Care to share your secrets? Was it one bird plus a high shot to get all the hams?
This is a level that I have played thousands of times. Not because I had a terrible score and was looking to improve but rather wanted to understand how this incredible topscore was achieved. Things like this though random in nature should be repeatable with the logic behind it. I have solved for the glitch on this level and to be honest it is very repeatable. The strat as laid out by jwfisherman is essentially the two shots needed, but it is in the detail that you will trigger the glitch. 1st can be sent really to any place as long as you don’t detonate the tnt, the points here have only a minor effect on your score for the level. The 2nd is sent to the middle/base of the snow tree up front before the tnt, accelerated very late. The object here is to hit the tnt at the lowest point possible, there are instances where you will trigger a mini-glitch by going to low and only taking out the wood behind the tnt propping it up, doing this will cause tnt to roll back and cause small freeze but won’t lead to highscore. If you hit it correctly the screen will freeze immediately another 5-10 secs later you will see the score increase by exactly 500 points, you then will need to be patient as it will appear as if the game is frozen, within 2-3 mins you will see the screen flash all the scores of the things vanishing and then the black rock from the foreground will also disappear. When the level pans back to the sling there is nothing left on the board except the sling itself. The whole sequence is very reminiscent of the santa-hat glitch in Seasons Greedings.
My score so far is 113k but intend on challenging the top score on this level now that I know how it was achieved. The score has stood for 18+ months and not a single player within 30k of it, but I have a feeling that will begin to change. To post a score so outlandish and not provide the details is not in my nature and I do hope that other members will benefit from this post that have the desire to improve their scores. GL.

@DonnMega this is an excellent investigation and superb shooting. I can confirm that it works very well. I managed to trigger this glitch several times already and as best made 114 110. Still far of the 135K top score but I can definitely see that it is a plausible score.

@donnmega FTW!!!!!!!!! Man I knew there had to be an answer to that score. Way to go I figuring it out. This might be one of the most interesting mysteries of AB now solved! SSHHHHHHHH everybody before you know who fixes it. Now to satisfy my ABOCD.
@donnmega @ernor63 @foley200 I know that the first two are playing on an iPhone and foley is playing on an IPad. What I wanted to confirm is that the version of seasons you are playing is the most current. I have tried this glitch for several hours now and have been unable to get it to happen with the most recent version. I realize that this took two years to solve to I am not expecting miracles but just wanted to verify.
@swelld I don’t believe the glitch still exists in ACB. I have no idea when it was removed, but can tell you that it was available for V. 2.1 thru 2.4.1. 9 months and 4 episodes at the very least and possibly longer. Not sure when you started playing but if history tells us something it is always a good idea to keep back ups of your ipa’s, i.e. Santa Hat, Pig Dipper S15, Piglantis exploding raft, etc.
Yes @donnmega I thought that might be the case. I don’t have any old versions lying around. I won’t go into updating to IOS 6.1 on my previously jail broken ipad that is now not. I am waiting to see if @folwy200 might give me hope.

I don’t believe this works on current version 3.3.0 . iPhone is my primary device with current version loaded and though I haven’t spent a huge amount of time testing the glitch, I think if you are several hours in, it’s not going to work. I got lucky, as I have Piglantis version installed on my iPad. I didn’t have the foresight like @donnmega to back up my ipa, I just never updated past Piglantis version 2.4.1 on iPad.
@foley200 thanks for confirming that! I will have to get an old ipa and come back to this to experience it! I actually miss the Santa hat glitch. It was crazy fun.

I have done the most frighting thing (well technically not really everything should work to get it back in place again, but brrrr) I deleted my seasons app and put back an old ipa I had on my computer. So I was able to enjoy the glitch today. If not for you I would not have know about this. I got the glitch to work in my 2.3.0 version of Seasons.
Have to admit that it only happened 5 times in the hour I have tried this. So maybe there is hope just yet for the current version, cause I only tried that for only 5 minutes. Will of course try some more after everything is back in order.

@donnmega, @ernor63, @foley200, @e-star – have you had the glitch occur in the zoomed in viewing mode, or only fully zoomed out? All of the videos show zoomed out, but I was not sure if that was necessary to get the glitch to occur.
@burbman I only played zoomed out, the glitch occurred about 5 or 6 times in an on and off fling of a hour. All of them only lasted 3 minutes or so. Did notice that the glitch in my 2.1.0 SD version (put on my iPad) only caused some damage to the platform underneath the TNT. Not a total destruction.
@e-star – Thank you, just answered my own question, and hit a glitch fully zoomed in. Waiting for it to finish up now.

Well, this settles it for me. I was reluctant to start playing Seasons as I do not have access to the SHG, but was beginning to think that I might anyway. Now that I read this and know this glitch is also no longer “available” with the latest update…. Think I’ll give the entire Seasons game and its lumpy playing field a pass :|

For myself, I am revisiting these AB games since getting a new phone earlier this year, and found this great site, the ABN. Thus, I’ve discovered I missed out on all of the other glitches and felt a bit disappointed I didn’t join ABN back then so I could get those crazy high scores.
Admittedly, I don’t feel left out because I can’t trigger any of the past glitches. For my own personal reasons, I like posting my scores on the leaderboard as a “true” score that was obtained from calloused flingers and the personal challenge to get a better than average, or to beat someone else’s score.
Glitch or no glitch, I don’t get upset because of how other flingers obtained their scores. I just love playing the game and being a part of this community where everyone shares their knowledge and helps each other.

Glitch scores can still be obtained by installing Bluestacks on Android and then installing v2.3 (found on internet). Just got 151590 in less than an hour, improving by a whopping 60,000.
This has been a crazy day. There is actually a 1-birder in play that triggers the glitch. Aim as @DonnMega described above and it can trigger the freeze. Then wait for the level to end. This is 143.7K with 1-bird. Again great find by DonnMega. Thanks!

After playing this level the last two days I thought I had learned how this glitch works. The basic mechanics of the strat is the same that @DonnMega so excellent described above except that a 1-birder freeze seems to be more effective.
You’ll find that 9 out of 10 times when you activate this glitch the score on the board after the huge explosion (2-3 min after the freeze) is in the range of 85K to 95K resulting in a score after bonus birds somewhere from 105K to 115K. The 10th time the freeze is longer and the longer the higher the score on the board seems to be. However scores on the board over 130K (before bonus birds) seems to make the game crash or you’ll not be able to end the level at all. This made me believe there was some kind of threshold at 150K.
But this morning I had a score on the board after the huge explosion of 175K that went through quickly and smoothly ended the level with a very nice score of 195K. :D
So there is still some pieces of this freeze puzzle to solve.

Regarding the exploitation of a glitch: when the glitch is widely available to everyone, I do not take issue with people posting those scores. I am happy to do so myself. But when the glitch is only discovered after a large majority of players have upgraded to the latest version, and can no longer compete for a top score, to me seems grossly unfair. More unfair than posting a Powerup score. It renders the leaderboard meaningless.

@bonneypattycat The time and date that a glitch is discovered is not really relevant. Far more important is that the glitch was available universally as part of normal gameplay. As you said, if the glitch is widely available, then there should be no issue with permitting the scores. That’s precisely the case here: The glitch was available in v2.1.0 for any and all to “take advantage of”.
That’s not to say that we permit all glitched scores. The “double-bird bonus” in Rio was not a factor of normal gameplay and thus is not permitted. There was a “Jellybean” glitch that would cause nearly any arbitrary level to self-destruct violently, and those users have graciously agreed to not enter their scores. But this glitch falls in line with the Santa Hat glitch and the Fruity Buffet glitch (the latter may still be active, but it’s super super rare).

The top score on this level was 40k more than 2nd place score for more than 18 months. But rather than make a plea to the admins for the removal of the score, I made it a personal challenge to myself to solve for how it was obtained. When I made the discovery and realized how the glitch worked I didn’t just post a score and leave folks guessing. Would that have been better? I posted the score and I provided the steps involved in obtaining it. And looking at this thread and the leaderboard, clearly some members have been able to benefit. I respect the decision to not load an older version, but can’t see why people would fault those that do.
@amslimfordy stated already why glitch scores differ from double-count etc. I would like to add that things are added and removed quite frequently in all of the AB games. Whether it’s a glitch, change in material, self-collapse, birds abilities, etc. Name the game and you can come up with more than a few levels that will play differently present day than upon earlier releases. I don’t fault people that have the forward thinking to make back-ups of their IPA’s that allow them to play the game as it was available.
I have no intention of removing my score and am quite proud of it. Solving for the glitch was not luck it took many hours of shooting at it. And once discovered my current score of 169k has come at many more hours of play as well.
@donnmega did not know the history of how you came to the conclusion of this glitch (my apologies for not reading the whole page the first go), respect!!
You have a point, glitches, things that change over time can not be traced, so it would be impossible to track back each time the game changes.
And I also respect you when you say you want to keep your score, guess because you showed me the way, my road was not long and hard, that is why I am not set in keeping my score.
So all in all, I understand the feeling of those who can not play the glitch (been there, before I learned how to use old ipa files), but if there is a way for me to “not be left behind”, I will take it like any other would.
I agree @e-star, it is time to move on. I have stated my opinion, that is all I can do.
I’ve been following this interesting debate that has been going on the last few days about what scores are legit or not. I’ve been playing this game almost since the beginning and have seen firsthand how the playground constantly changes. Sometimes it makes levels easier sometimes it makes levels harder.
Here are some examples ABO 3-5 used to play as a 0-birder for a year or so. I played it every time I entered the car to go to work (or to get home) for 2 months’ time and eventually got a really got score of 118K7/0B then with an update of a new episode (I can’t recall when) they added 4 pigs and changes some stone to ice completely changing the gameplay and scoring for that level. I could have whined about the hundreds of hours invested in to get to 118K but faced the facts that this things happens and could score 123K/1b in 5 min. Fair? Maybe not but that’s how it is.

Here is another example that @Foley200 pointed out to me. It’s from WTH 1-5. If you look at these pics you see that Rovio somehow, god knows why, have changes a board from wood to stone! This little change makes a difference in the possibility to score high on this level with the current version.

What I want to say with this is that these changes happens all the time, frequently and in all AB games. Good players like @DonnMega and @Foley200 learn from these changes and adapt to it.
I think it’s over a year ago since @DonnMega approached me about this puzzle of WTH 1-23. Since then he did a remarkable investigation and spent hundreds of hours to solve this puzzle and should have all credit there is in solving it and all credit to my current score of 195K.
@DonnMega is truly a master of details and if you are not, you’ll not be long lived on the top of the leaderboards. This was truly one of the greatest moments in AB history Cheers to you mate I owe you one here.

When I read this a couple of days ago and saw the scores were allowed I took advantage of my jailbroken iPad and my computer skills to get my hands on the glitch. Not only to try and keep up with the rest in the top 10 (yeah right like I will ever reach the scores of our super flingers @donnmega @ernor63 and @foley200 hahaha) but also to be able to record it on video for all to see.
I have ot checked in the current version if the glitch is really gone, was planning on spending a couple of hours to try and find this out somewhere this weekend.
But if the glitch really has been deleted from the current version, for me personally, if the others with glitch scores agree, I would happilly change my score back to a score obtained without the glitch. Not sure how many scores are glitch scores and if reaching an agreement with those nesters is achievable, but count me in the plan rises to ban the glitch scores.
@e-star, Outside of ACB, I have little invested in Seasons, but I do not agree with the precedent (at least in my mind) set by the allowance of these scores. If this happened on ABO or Rio…. grrrrrrrrr!!!!
@bonneypattycat with the same reasoning I suspect that if the board changes and plays different on Birdday 19-11 you will be removing your highscore……..

The difference is, at the time I got that score everyone playing at the time was aware of the glitch and had a good idea how to get a similar score with persistence. I posted several images to help others repeat, or at least come close to my score. Did jwfisherman do the same at the time of his high score? I see he posted his strategy later, but it was only after you posted the “key” to his score have others come anywhere near his score, and now ernor has a score roughly *100k* higher than what can be achieved without the glitch. This is beyond reasonable. 30k or so it wouldn’t get my attention so much…
There are those of us who play, that can fling a fairly decent bird, albeit with thousands of attempts, and get good scores, but have no idea how to save old versions, bring them back without losing existing scores. In other words, we rely on Rovio to provide a level playing field, which they do not. Ernor63 told me to set my own goals, which I do. Without that I’d have ditched this long ago.
Just chasing someone, a particular someone, up the ABS leader board does it for me

I have to respetfully disagree with your view on this issue. And that’s not just because I’ve benefitted from this glitch, which I have greatly. Ill take a 55k improvement any day!
This is identical to the Santa hat glitch. Rovio changed the playing field and those who weren’t ‘on the ball’ or those who weren’t playing the game at the time got left behind. You could argue that this is unfair. Maybe it is, but so what? I never benefitted from the shg, you can see that from my ranking, but I never once argued or complained about it. Rather, I put those levels aside and made it my goal to get the best possible scores I could on every other level, I’m in the process now, 3 years later, of trying to jailbreak an old device. (A device I could have sold for €200). Next I will try and hunt for the old ipa. Maybe I’ll get to play shg, maybe not!
My point is this. If your goal is AB Seasons domination, then put this level aside and bide your time. @Donnmega has provided the steps necessary to play this glitch, and you might be able to in the future. Don’t give up on the other levels.
I don’t play abo but I assume bp 19-11 has some sort of glitch? So, what if Rovio get rid of this in the next update, and then I decide to play. Should you take down your score that is unobtainable to me? No you shouldn’t.
Just a final word on this level. My 151 score came from 8 days of shooting non stop at this level. I even played out 1 glitch that lasted for 3 hours, in order to gain useful information. I know where to shoot, wether to drop egg or not, which devices are better to shoot on, where the scoring thresholds seem to be, etc. I’ve put a lot into this level as I know @donnmega & @ernor63 have as well. My score stands!
@foley200, I do not see this quite the same as the SHG. SHG was well known to everyone playing at the time, so many players were able to take advantage. It was only us latecomers that missed out. This situation is different. The key to this glitch was only found after nearly everyone had upgraded with ACB version, leaving it only available to a small handful of players. Where is the fair play competition, and satisfaction, in that?
I am not sweating this as much as it might appear. I like to see how well I can do on the leaderboards, but I do not quite have the patience and dedication required to compete in the top ten, with the exception a a few episodes. So, I doubt even if I had access to SHG and this glitch it would make a huge difference in my overall standing. It simply goes against the grain to see others taking huge advantage of a glitch that is available to so few. Plus, It sets a precedent that I find troublesome.
I am not asking anyone to delete their score, as they are permitted by management. I am only stating my disagreement with the decision to allow the scores.
@bonneypattycat so if I understand correctly you suggesting a glitch score is or isn’t allowed depending on the willingness of the Nesters to share his findings at the time of the release? @DonnMega can not help it that at that time the people with 40k scores more didn’t share their secret could he?
Anyway I suggest that we take @foley200 advice and carry on. One level over so many others is not worth this much trouble over.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with the high score or not but has anyone else blown up the TNT in this level and at the same time blown up some of the black rock. Somehow I did it and the rest of the level played in slow motion. I took a picture but I stink at posting them.

I was using the high arc approach a lot more as I thought it gave better ‘lift’ of the roof section that I was trying to topple to the right for extra collateral damage. This happened 5-6 times to me. I noticed it on the iPhone as the frame rate dropped to about 1-2 FPS.
My rip is in the same place but goes all the way to the ground. I dropped the egg in between the tree and TNT.
I can’t explain the scoring. But the strategy was to bomb the second tree, carom into the corner of the roof, and taking out the far pig for a score of about 14 to 17K. The second bird straight into the TNT zooming at the last second. There must have been a sweet spot that destroyed the whole screen.
By the way, with all the hoopla over the score, I was reluctant to post any higher scores (150K).
I’d like to add a strat that is quite easy on the nerves – no need to worry about dropping the bomb. Bloated Bird Time!
Aim WB at white tree just to the left of TNT. You will take out the top 2 layers of the tree, strike the TNT, WB will shoot backward uselessly over the fling platform. Rocks will do serious damage to the house, providing 1-birders often. The one you want pushes the house over to the right. Sadly far right present didn’t crunch, but still a good score. And much easier on the fling finger! I’ve been working will all the above strats, and this one gave me the best scores.
I agree, I was trying to see if the glitch was working in the current version of seasons and kept fling the white bird at the TNT without releasing the egg and at some point it landed me a score of 92840.
