Angry Birds Rio Trophy Room Walkthrough Anchor Trophy

A strategy for the Angry Birds Rio Trophy Room “Anchor Trophy” bonus level is to fling the boomerang bird up towards the topmost vertical wood beam. Breaking this beam will release the giant boulder from the Raiders of the Lost Ark. With luck it will have enough momentum and finish off the level (Indiana will escape of course). The score in the video below is 183,950.

3-starred with 175,000, so it’s at least that low.

174k is 2 stars, 175k is 3 stars.

Easier for me to achieve a +180,000 score with two birds. Boomerang Bird shot backwards at the steepest angle possible so that it goes underwater and pops up in the explosive-packed cave on the far right; Yellow Bird in a high arch so that it takes out both the vertical wood beam holding the boulder and the wood holding up the metal girder that makes a bridge for the boulder. (If the bridge isn’t already in place when the boulder reaches it, the boulder won’t have enough momentum to clear the level.)

I started from 1B 178K by normal way. It’s repetable with very gently touch of wooden board by Boomerang Bird. I also mad later 2B / 178K.

As @zlyeptitsy wrote 2B with BB shoot step, backwards, fast ignition OVER the water (!) set repetable enter and climb BB by cave wall. Other 2B was 180, 182, 183, 185. For now is to late in Europe to continue rise, so I’m actual at 6#.

Here’s a video of this method: http://youtu.be/A2L9dl5C2n8. I captured some higher scoring runs, but this one is most representative of how to place the shots.

Took a zillion tries, but it works just like in the video. 182,670

Aim boomerang bird at monkey hanging on the stick near the rock, he should break stick thereby detonating tnt and fall on wooden sticks below clearing them so bridge falls and boulder rolls on finishing everything else off. 187,180 with just one bird.

Its pretty much the same strategy as posted except I find that its better to aim at the monkey hanging from the stick than the stick itself.

And to add…..my strategy kills the monkey AND drops the bridge.

EGAD! Sorry to keep adding to my post mods but I also just discovered that in order for the rock to continue on, there is a small vertical slab of concrete at the top of the structure in the cave that needs to fall out so that the bridge, when it falls, will be ever so slightly angled downward to allow boulder to continue on its way.

This isnt always the case either as sometimes the boulder still rolls on if it has momentum but removing the vertical slab ensures that the rock rolls on…sorry, Ill shut up now, the floor is anyone else’s with something useful to add ;)

I came here to discuss this nightmare of a vertical slab. 9 out of 10 times it prevents the boulder. If you go under water with the boomerang, it clears the debris from before the bridge which causes the boulder to bounce on bridge, breaking through it instead of rolling over it. Or perhaps a tiny piece of wood lands on the bridge, stopping boulder dead. Or the long vertical twig falls right, not left, stopping the 20 ton boulder (as twigs do.) What else? Oh yes, if none of the above happen, and boulder falls through where it should, it doesn’t smash enough wood (or drag it under) for enough points. Geez, how many planets must align for a decent score? I’ve got 3 stars but nothing to write home about. So far, Dennis’ suggestion to fling at the marmoset – sending bird beyond to help facilitate the bridge placement, gave me the best result. Not a fan of 30 things going wrong with one fling!

I have 188’850 here. Lucky strike I guess

You have to use the “boomerang bird” dropping it down in the water and bend it at once. Then you can make it from underneath. Use the second bird to release the boulder. Remember to take out som wood by dropping the bird slightly downwards.

Omg. Thanks guys for the help. I’ve been at this for a month. First bird in the water. Second bird at that rotton monkey. 187070. Thanks again.

Anyone figure out the significance of the wooden arrow that’s anchored to the rock with a plank and pointing toward the water?

By Steve

Best score to date is 191570, to do this boomerang bird under the water and Tnt explosion has to drop and make cracks in the bridge, yellow bird just under the cliff to take out the hanging monkey and you want the yellow bird to roll up the bottom boulder ramp as far as it will go, the boulder will catch up and hop over the yellow bird and the bridge will break when the boulder is across it letting the yellow bird fall in the gap taking out everything below. The boulder rolls all the way to the left and finishes that side off.

My method isn’t easy but when it works its worth it.
