Angry Birds Rio Timber Tumble Walkthrough Level #17

Our strategy for Timber Tumble Level #17 is to loft Big Brother over everything, causing him to break through the right side of the level. With a little luck, he can destroy the right side while causing the remote to trigger, yielding a one-bird clear. For a more-repeatable two-bird solution, fling the first Big Brother off the angled wall below the logs, detonating the trigger first. The score in the video below is 179,910.

I’ve got 2 golden gears left to get, and this is one of them. Any tips?

@mvnla2, I hope that you’ve attained the golden gear by now. If not, I was able to get it by launching Terrence on a flat trajectory onto the rubber tire. Big Red bounced over into the gear. It goes without saying that you must first clear the structure first to open a parh to the tire. Good luck.

@3sjs and @jwgardenwiz — Yes I did get the gear following 3sjs’s strat. I thought I posted thanks, but I don’t see it.

@mvnla2, clear the way to the tire below the remote and the stuff in front of the gear. Then ricochet Big Bro off the branch to the tire below bouncing up to the gear. Took a bit but I finally got it.

(I should have said “angled wall” rather than “branch”. Thought it was a tree until I looked closer.)

1 bird. Big Red high arc, so that it clears the wood boulders, and rolls down the branch, into the black tunnel. Will set of a chain re-action. 183k

I used 2 birds for 191k.

First bird, clip the small wood piece releasing the logs, bird flys on to the right doing more damage.

Second bird like first in the walkthrough video.

@bonneypattycat @emdider I assume your talking about getting the gear using 2 birds not your score ? I can only get close to 190k by following the above video:/am i missing something to get above 190k ?

@kathy You just haven’t tried enough! Of course, when is “enough” is pretty hard to say. I was stuck at 189k and on maybe the 100th or 200th try (of just the @amslimfordy method; many more of the alternatives) I passed 190k. I think that I’m done.

Lol @snoid ; P right who knows when is ‘enough’ I suppose I could fling a few more (hundred) times And I probably will lol;) happy to see it worked for you nice flinging. O.k now put back the ‘L’ factor i need it;)

@kathy BTW, I didn’t see the tire–I’ve got to look closer–so in order to get the gear, I ended up bouncing Big Bro #3 of #2 (#1 just cleared the path). It actually only took me ony about a dozen tries. I thought it would be a lot more.

@kathy, sorry for the late response. It was 2 birds for my score. I was just starting to play this level, messing around and lucked into a good score.

I did it also via 2-birder. Aim for the upper branch (angled wall…) pointing southeast. Bird will drop down on fuse to release logs, like described by AMslimfordy (but without vid). The tire makes also sense then. 2nd shot as in vid. I would say that this strat gives simply more points.

I used the same shots and order, however, I don’t clip the wooden gate. It’s a really hard shot to hit, with lots of failures, and since that piece breaks when the logs roll off, it’s pointless (bad pun unintended) to mess with it.

I don’t think shot order makes any difference, either. My last 191k was with the shots reversed. All you need to do is get all the 500pt mushrooms and bananas by the tire, then hope falling stone debris destroys lots of wood.

A one birder and 195K finally, but I also had lower scores like 175K with 1 bird, so just keep flinging.
