Angry Birds Friends Tournament Level 1 – Week 9 – July 16th

Walkthrough video and strategy for Angry Birds Friends on Facebook Tournament Level #1 Week 9 (this tournament began the week of July 16th, 2012). Our strategy for this level is to fire the first blue bird low, splitting early to take out the ice supporting the middle structure. This will cause it to fall to the left. Now use the white bird to take out the pigs on the far right. If necessary, use last blue bird to mop things up. The score in the video is 84,430, but you can get higher by using less birds.

Our Angry Birds Friends Tournament walkthroughs for Facebook show you how to obtain 3 stars, most of the time without the aid of Power-Ups (we do make exceptions). If you have a different strategy feel free to leave a comment below; however, don't just post your score via the comments. Tournament walkthroughs are added weekly as new levels come out, so be sure to check the walkthrough page.

-95,320 Using the same method for the first bird except splitting them just a hair later I was able to take out all but the two far right piggies. Then dropping the egg right after the TNT flung the white bird at the perfect angle (and a lucky bounce) to take out everything on the two right structures. Will try again with power ups just to see if 100k + is feasable.

@dollarbill2208, after careful scrutiny of the structural integrity of the pigs’ base, I came to the conclusion that the whole level depends on destrying with the first bird the inverted ice triangle that holds the middle tower. The only way of doing this (at least from my attempts) was by using the super sling. This allows the tower to fall more slowly and in a way that most of the left tower gets destroyed and, more importantly, the TNT is detonated. I managed to consistently get above 50K points by doing this, compared to 35-40K with the plain split bird strategy. This is a picture of 61K with one bird:

Now, if only I hadn´t blow it up with the second (white) bird… :¨(

93120(so far after five minutes) – 1st B/B nearly straight and split immediately. Takes out glass in lower and two in upper left. The large stone and the boxed in pig rolls left. W/B to whats remaining on the right side. I’m not sure if the TNT blew or not.

Thanks Liam, it would be really nice if you finished your registration, so we can see your progress, and link to you, and befriend you. I’ve seen some very helpful tips from you.

Nah, I’ll leave that to those that want to participate. I’ve enough login’s already, and I just want to play, not get my name in ‘lights’.
Thanks anyway!

My 95,630 was done without powerups. 2 birds. 1st bird split to hit 3 levels of glass in the middle structure. This is where I got somewhat lucky, not only did this take out all the middle and left birds, but it blew the TNT. The I used the white bird to take out 2 remaining pigs on the right side. I think that blowing th TNT on the first shot is not highly repeatable.

I did the same but I think blowing TNT is repeatable, a bit difficult though !

I managed 96,560 using 1 bird. I superseeded the first one and flung it just like in the video and out of sheer luck all pigs died…tnt did not explode though.

to avoid flagging my score for this level I just downloaded a screenshot saver, and as soon as I figure out how it works, I will put a screenshot here…
btw, the stategy is same as c21scott’ s (thanks), without power-ups, I just got a little luckier…

Man, out of all the people with scores of 98 and 97k, nobody says a word. This level took me a long time to figure out, and I’m not so sure I could do it again. Here it is for 97k.

I think that it really was blind luck this week more than most Bill. Rovio hit us with some good levels that really made us think on where to hit. I am with you though…it took me a while before landing on a strategy the you could hope to get big points. What I like about this week as opposed to last week is that we didn’t really need a ton on power-ups. They gave us a bit of a break on a couple levels. There is no true “NO-BIRDER”. I like the change up personally.

I wrote it cause it was the first time I hit the 1st spot (not for long though), and never commented on these pages before, so there was always a possibility that someone wouldn’t believe me… and I still haven’t figured out how to upload a screenshot using Lightshot… to close with, when I made this score, in the visible part of the screen there were only 2 or 3 concrete and 1 glass structures left so everybody can make the count how much can you get out of a 2 birder, but I’m still trying to get a 1 birder

@superfly don’t worry, your score is believable. We look for explanations by the high scorers as a way to verify that they obtained the score they did, and also did it legitimately. Your score is fine.

Ehem, Ehem… Since I am now one of those people, I wanted to let you know that I tried to follow the strategy in @dollarbill2208 ‘s video. I already knew that the ice triangle was key, but Bill did it in a very ingenious way. The problem I had is that I could not replicate the shot with his angles, so it took me a while to figure them out. Is it because you are playing in an Ipad? Any way, I was very, very lucky with both my first and second shots. This score proof is dedicated to @dollarbill2208 and @plydon:

Easier made if you manage to breat the glass triangle with the first bird. I know it takes too much time but its worth it. Around 62000 points with the first shot. the rest is easy.

+98K no power-ups!!!! Awesome first shot, detonating TNT, one pig remained for a score of… I don’t remember if 59K or 69K O_O (probably the 1st one)
Second shot very easy. Now with my 4 weekly scores I’ve exactly 450000 points, no power-ups ;) In these 3 days I’ll try to improve the 2nd and 3rd level, with power-ups, and go closer to 500K
