Well yeah obviously member limit increases are attached to clan level, I was looking for specifics XD.  And to answer my own question, once you reach clan level 5 then the member limit raises from 10 to 15.  Thank you Makaveli for finding that info!!!

As far as donation reset goes, with the limited amount of members a clan can have, it helps clans that recruit new members easily see if their new members are actually investing in the clan.

I do see your point though.  Truly the overall total donations ever should be tallied separatly from total donations made to their current clan.  But if you had you rank the importance of 1 over the other, current clan donations trump an individuals EXP bonus.  Why?  Because having a cohesive clan shold earn you, on the low end, at least double the rewards from any event.
