On that theme, who can forget the immortal Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack duet “Tonight I Sellotape my Glove to You”. Once heard, never unheard.

Some sources claim that they are both the result of things misheard – in Paddy MacAloon’s case “peppered sprout” from a Johnny Cash song and in Jack White’s case, Salvation Army. I think the second has more truth, but anyway, those origin stories are both out there.

The most well-known song about Bangor. However, it’s not about Bangor at all, more likely Rhyl about 20 miles along the coast. The lyrics just worked better with Bangor.
