Those are some BIG birds!
It didn’t take long to all us flingers to fling 1 BILLION birds and reveal the hidden image tied #UnlockTheFlock. As many expected this is all related to the first Angry Birds feature film, which will fly into theaters the summer of 2016.
I know it’s a long way a way, but based on the image above I am definitely looking forward to this. What do you all think? Are you excited for the movie? What do you think of the birds new look?

Rovio stated that even though the Birds have legs and arms, the Pigs will retain their classic look (they won’t have arms or legs)
Oh no. Angry Birds have feet now? And wings? No slingshot needed any more? Oh my. And Red looks so ugly. What happened to our beloved birds?
@chriss — I don’t mind the feet and wings, but they sure don’t look like our beloved birds. Cute was swapped for ugly. Maybe Sony will reconsider and change the looks. Hmm… The Sony Studio in Culver City isn’t that far from where I live, but I doubt I could get in.
The producers of certain live action Angry Birds fan videos in the USA might get a kick out of the Bomb’s new huge and menacingly cute appearance :)

If the birds will have feet then the pigs will then have it too – making them uglier than this even. (I’m picturing a real life pig, with King Pig’s face on it – certainly not cute).
i was wondering what the pigs would look like. i think they would look like stop-motion pigs. but green.
Rovio is doing this because their revenue has been down by 9% lately, so they are putting their hopes into this movie to save the company!

I once made the mistake of ordering an “angry birds” pillow from China and yellow was such a nice color.
A few weeks later Chuck arrived and most amusingly, it was shaped like a banana, not a triangle. Hilarious the movie Chuck suffered the same fate!
Well, I think I could forgive the manufacturers for making a triangle Chuck due to some production difficulty but if it’s in digital format, I’m sure they can shape it to whatever they want LOL.
TBH, I don’t hate the new designs, they bring out different characters.

@kelani, @joeyba, les-toreadors, mvnla2 and @bird leader, It says that Mighty Eagle will be in the movie, no Blue bird, one Minion Pig and Matailda will be in the movie; I don’t like that this movie has such a small cast but I am curious about the plot because (idk) if the Eggs will be in the movie or not. I certainly hope that there will be a better villain than just a normal pig. how could Rovio torture the Angry Birds like this? That’s bird cruelty!
I won’t be surprised if Minion Pig has legs because in Slingshot 101, if you look closely when they are hiding behind the bush you can see pig hooves
I especially hope that Rovio doesn’t add legs and wings to the Angry Birds in the GAMES, or add legs and wings to Season 2 of Angry Birds Toons

To be honest I was hoping to see the pigs. Then I can make jokes at how their shape changed from the usual round pigs in the game.
Regarding legs and wings, early concept art from Rovio did depict birds having biologically correct wings and legs but those were removed as the Angry Birds game we know took shape.
The desire for the producers to make the birds look human is something everyone will have to get used to. This early media release is of a somewhat necessary nature I guess! I was expecting an evolution of Angry Birds Toons, to be honest. I thought that captured the cartoon feel of Angry Birds franchise very well.
Heh, heh….Funnily enough, the press release ( http://www.rovio.com/en/news/press-releases/551/the-all-star-comedy-voice-cast-of-angry-birds-is-revealed-by-one-billion-sling-shots-jason-sudeikis-josh-gad-danny-mcbride-bill-hader-maya-rudolph-and-peter-dinklage ) states that the pigs won’t have legs. There are also a whole lot of people in the cast, so my guess is that Bill Hader will voice King Pig and maybe the others will voice the minion pigs. Rovio also states that the reason that they gave the birds arms and legs is because they said, and quote: “We heard limbs and dialogue were all the rage in modern animation so we went all in. Not just one, but all of our characters have legs and wings! Except for the pigs, that is.” So that must mean that they did this (hopefully) just for the movie.
Where does it say that the Blues won’t be in the film? The article simply doesn’t list them in the main cast, but it does list several other voices. We can’t say for certain who won’t be part of the film, all we can do is confirm who is in the film.
@rizdub You’re absolutely right. It’s still much too early to speculate. Personally, I see the blues as ripe for lots of comedic potential, and I can’t see the producers overlooking that. :)
FWIW, the iMDB page doesn’t list anyone voicing the blues in the cast list, but there are a lot of voice actors already listed in the cast, so maybe that information just isn’t available yet.
I think any one or two girls maybe voiced as The Blues, ya, it was showed in Making of AB Toons (or maybe Behind the Scenes, I don’t know) in Toons.TV. I’ve seen two girls laughing as The Blues. So, now it’s not confirmed. And as u have seen in @kelani ‘s shared link below, there were four ladies in the cast, in which one is Matilda. So I think Stella would also appear in it.
Oh god, it’s just as I feared…I’m not sure if I want to see the movie now…

@birdleader: what I meant is that I think they are looking for level ideas for new Pig Days levels with a given theme. All themes are new but only the ABN theme is not new. So will there be a second Pig Day about ABN? I really don’t get it. This would be only in 1 year for your next birthday?

I guess it is “to each his own” but Bomb Bird appears to big, teddy bear-like and cute in a “big guy” sort of way.
Yeah they wanted to make the birds more human like and I think they succeeded. Of course everyone will have to get over the initial surprise first before acknowledging the birds in the movie are going to have human expressions. I believe there is some psychological theory behind this, such as when a doll is too life-like it starts to create uneasy feelings in people.
Yikes! I don’t really like how Red looks there. Bomb looks good, but why is he so big? Oh, and I had overheard in a press release (linked to at unlock the flock) that – yes, they will talk. Not really looking forward to the movie.

I love Angry Birds! :D but seriously, in my opinion, Bomb is too big, Chuck’s shape is ruined, and I realy do not like the arms and legs. I prefer the original, classic form of the birds.
