Angry Birds Friends Sneak Peek Tourney On Now #UnlockTheFlock

A new special Angry Birds Friends “Sneak Peek Tournament” is on now that features six all new levels with an interesting twist. As you destroy the pigs structure in level one, three, and four a picture is revealed. If you beat the level by popping all the pigs you’ll be able to share that piece of the picture on Facebook (note, you can only do this once). I know all this sounds a bit strange, but it’s tied to Rovio’s new #UnlockTheFlock initiative:

Help the Angry Birds unlock the exclusive surprise by sharing #UnlockTheFlock. We’re tracking globally – every share and gameplay action launches a bird. Help us to fling 1 billion birds! Use #UnlockTheFlock and your tweet could end up being published on the site.

To participate head on over to Facebook today and compete with your friends or download the Angry Birds Friends app for iOS or Android.

Our walkthroughs are live and the leaderboard is ready for your scores! So what do you all think of this week’s special Sneak Peek tournament?

I think all of these pics are foreshadowing the Angry Birds Movie. One of the pictures is in a cinema with several pigs wielding construction gear. But by the looks of the pics, I’m not sure I like where this is going…

By Contributor

Do you think you can link to the pic?

Based on the “Sony Pictures” legal info at the bottom of the UnlockTheFlock.com site, I think it is almost guaranteed we are going to see a pic of the Birds in their movie form.

Dark Knight did the same kind of promo when revealing the first image of the Joker years ago.

That being said, one of the sneak peek images from the tournament is anatomically scary in regards to Angry Birds if that is the case..

By Contributor

I agree. These pictures seem a bit too…realistic, but they could always be referring to something else. Also (spoilers) it could be a little one of those things that Rovio does for laughs. In the original cinematic trailer, the birds had wings and the pigs had hands and feet. They also had feet in ‘Slingshot 101’, but I sure hope the birds and pigs aren’t anatomically correct, if that’s what you’re saying.

although in Angry Birds Toons sometimes Matilda uses a handkerchief to say stuff like “Bye-bye” and “Hello” or to cool herself off

By BASchu

What are you talking about? is there a secret level with a picture?

By Contributor

No, but check a few of the pictures. Most of them are of wings and feet.

@abhinav123 If we can track down all the images, or if Nesters upload them to their albums and share here, we can definitely piece them together.

look at the picture in level 3, doesn’t that look like the top of Chuck’s head? maybe that could mean that that Chuck related thing from the “New Year, New Tricks” video could be released sometime soon! :D

By Contributor

You could be right, but I saw that it looks a bit more like Chuck’s tail, based on the way it curves up.

Interesting. I had assumed there was only three images that everyone was seeing. Didn’t realize everyone was getting different ones..

I keep getting feet, which AB’s don’t have. One looks like a wing too. I am hoping they are not modifying the design so much for the film that they become unrecognizable.

On a related note, I played the tournament right when it started and my first sneak was just a pic of Wingman. Then the game said it had an update and needed to reboot. Once it did that, I started getting the CG bird images.

I suspect they’ll magically gain feet in the movie if it means lower production costs for rendering bird motion. :)

Wow, it’s already up to 29% of 1B birds. I wish they showed the actual count, but no matter. The fling locator map on http://www.unlocktheflock.com/ is still pretty neat.

By Contributor

You could be right, but I’m not exactly sure if or why Rovio would do that, altering the birds for lower production costs on the animation. They also have wings, and while they can be able to pick things up with those, I don’t see why Povio would alter them just to lower costs.

By Rowdypup (@rowdypup)

@kelani the Angry Birds movie will be 3D animation (they look real but they are really just animated), it will have real people, and even the blocks from the games. WAIT? am I forgetting something? oh yes, the pigs! the pigs in the movie will look like real life pigs, just colored green. So far, the birds will be Red, Chuck, Jay-Jake-Jim ( Blue bird ), Bomb, and Matilda

By Rowdypup (@rowdypup)

@dr-omega the birds only have feet and wings because in the trailer, it shows they were made by chemistry (science)

By NES Boy

I see you thought that this is the actual trailer for the movie. That video is a parody video that isn’t endorsed by Rovio. From what little we can see from the images shown in the ABF images, the movie will take place on Piggy Island, with no human involvement.

how do I upload pictures @birdleader?

Rank: Sling God with 26070 points
By SweetP (@sweetp)

@rowdypup, To upload pictures to your album, go here https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/about/faq/#user and read The New Profile System section.

Rank: Boss Hog with 12515 points
By Rowdypup (@rowdypup)

no, @sweetp I know how to upload pictures to my album, it’s just that I don’t know how to make a link to them

Rank: Sling God with 26070 points
By SweetP (@sweetp)

Copy one of the links that are provided when you save the picture and then paste it into your comment. The best link to use is the Text Link, because thumbnails will not appear in comments.

one more thing @sweetp, how do I post videos? I don’t know how to put them in my photo library either

Rank: Master Slinger with 7130 points
By Kelani (@kelani)

@rowdypup you can’t post videos in your album. You have to create them, upload them to a youtube account, then link to them. As far as your album questions, have you read the ABN FAQ? A lot of the answers to those questions are in there: https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/about/faq/

A few of your other questions will be addressed in the update I’m working on.

Thanks for covering me @Kelani. And I was going to say the same thing anyway, haha!

@Rowdypup, to repeat what @Kelani and I mentioned, please read the FAQ for posting a link to your pictures. Remember to use the Text Link provided in these walkthrough comments, instead of trying to embed a thumbnail, as they will not appear.

If you need further assistance, please let me know through a PM, & I’ll be glad to help.

I got those exact same pictures. Well, not that I knew how to post them, anyway.

By NES Boy

Here’s an attempt to assmble the full image with what’s available so far. I like how Red’s eyebrows appear to be made of feathers. Also, it’s interesting to see the Angry Birds (and the Bad Piggies) as more than just heads.

I, personally, have nothing against the birds having wings and feet in the movie; if anything, I’m actually really interested in seeing how Rovio plans to pull this off. The only problem that I have is that if the birds have limbs, than the pigs most definitely will. And I don’t think the pigs will be able to wear this new anatomical addition as well as the birds will.

By NES Boy

Hey, I just thought of something. Since we haven’t seen the birds’ eyes, do you think they’ll have colored irises in this movie?

By Contributor

Gee, and at first I thought I was going to be scared if the birds and pigs were going to talk in this movie.

By Cheryl

I don’t have an option to share the images on Facebook so how else can I unlock the levels??
