Rio and Star Wars ending support

Today I opened Angry Birds Star Wars II, and got this popup:

All good things must pass, and at the end of March we will be winding down some aspects of Angry Birds Star Wars 2 including the ingame shop and adverts. The game will also no longer be available in app stores from that date, but we will continue to provide player support for those who have the game installed on their devices until the end of 2020. We want to thank you for being part of this game, it’s meant a great deal to us.

I checked the other classic AB games, and got similar messages in AB Star Wars 1 and AB Rio. I didn’t see it in the other games (Classic, Seasons, Space…), so I assume this has something to do with their licensing deals with Fox/Disney expiring.

It’s a shame, but it was fun while it lasted.

After reading your post I went onto apples App Store but can’t find the 2 Star Wars games, are they available anywhere else for iOS

Alas, these 3 crossover Angry Birds classics will be missed… ESPECIALLY Angry Birds Rio, which ignited my love for the Angry Birds series in the first place.

But the 3 crossovers, especially Rio’s crossover, will always have a dear place in my heart; because like with Sonix the Hedgehog & his Multiverse, the Transformers Multiverse, & Iron Maiden – once allies of Angry Birds, ALWAYS allies of Angry Birds. :)

Although… I may be stretching it here, but perhaps, there’s a way (though, a tiny one) that the Angry Birds Star Wars games & Angry Birds Rio could make return. And that is if we tell the Walt Disney Company & Rovio to please come together, & come up with a compromise to bring the Angry Birds Star Wars games & Angry Birds Rio back for good.

I know what I’m suggesting is a big stretch, but it wouldn’t hurt to hope or give it try.
