So annoyed. I officially give up on trying to track it so closely. They’re close enough together that it almost doesn’t matter what the exact number is anyway.
fant
@fantOh great they’ve changed the mastery values again, and it’s typical that I just spent about 600 lucky coins and loads of snoutlings trying to rank all my birds to 70 before the level cap increased. Now they’ve decreased the mastery values so I wasted it all!!
E.g lvl 66 to 67 was 12380, but now it’s 9835.
Would have been much better off if I had waited and done it after the update, but as the previous update made it worse, I thought I’d hurry this time to avoid the same from happening again. It seems like whatever I do, rovio keep doing the opposite to annoy me!

@sutekh137Hey all,
Yeah, level increases went down in cost. I cannot find where I wrote it down, but I am pretty sure:
70 to 71 = 10,500 mastery
71 to 72 = 10,650 masteryFor 71 to 72, I am at 10,641, and that was with actually watching as the medal during a battle made my bird graduate to mastery 71. That’s why I am assuming 10,650.
Thanks,
sutekh137

@sutekh137Best way to level 80 (experience-wise) is to simply run through the two new caves.
I used a experience doubler at the start of each battle and hit 80 before the final boss in the furthest cave. The bog experience boosts only come first time through defeating each stage, it would appear.
I was able to clear most cave stages with just two birds, too, and still yielded 3 stars. For the ninja cave I used Samurai and Marksmen (and lots of health potions), and for the last cave I used Wizard and Seadog (and lots of health potions and rage cake). Did everything but 6 stages (3 last night and 3 this morning) without using a computer pig ally.
Now it is back to the mastery grind, though I am not sure I will even try to keep that up…
Thanks,
sutekh137
Sutekh137
@sutekh137Not sure anyone cares any more, but mastery from 72 to 73 looks to be around 10,720…
Thanks,
sutekh137
bchild
@bchildI can confirm that 71 to 72 is 10,650.
In regards to the relationship between the number of pigs and mastery points, what I have observed is that any pig defeated will give you 1 mastery point regardless of whether they drop a mastery ribbon or not. This would also include the wealthy pigs as well.
The mastery point received slightly differs from the table on page 1.
Cave 9-8 has lvl 37 pigs which drop 8 mastery points. In my observation, I didn’t see any “big” pigs which would give “double” mastery points.Cave 11-8 has lvl 42 pigs. This level has the “big” version of the brute and the normal version of the brute pig. “big” version drops 14 MPs but the regular version drops 8 MPs.
Pig lvl 1 or 2 still gives 1 (2) MPs
Pig lvl 11 still gives 2 (4) MPsAll I’ve checked so far after the 2.1 update.

@smwforever45@bchild
Like I wrote in the first post, the amount of Mastery points that you receive also depends on the amount of pigs that were on the screen when you defeated the pig. The actual amount is [Mastery for the pig] + 1 bonus Mastery for each pig on the screen.Also, the “big” Brute is actually the regular Brute. The “regular” Brutes that appear only in Cave 11 are actually small Brutes. However, it’s weird that they give 8 Mastery. They should give 7. Maybe there – again – was another pig on the screen when you defeated it?
@sutekh137 @fant
Thanks for the values! Yes, someone still cares – me.
I emptied the table and will still be accepting new findings.Anonymous
@smwforever45 @bchild
I don’t think it matters how many other pigs are on the screen when you knock one out. I think you simply get one point per pig, plus the old amount for each pig that “drops” mastery when you knock them out. I’ll try to get some screenshots together for evidence.Anonymous
@smwforever45 @bchild
Check out the last seven pics in my album. I think they illustrate my point.
bchild
@bchildI was puzzled as to why the small brutes gave 8 instead of 7. But appararently, the higher lvl pigs don’t follow the trend as well.
Cave 21-2 has lvl 76 pigs.
Big Pirate gives 20 while Smuggler gives 14.Lvl 42. 8 14
Lvl ?? 10 16
Lvl ?? 12 18
Lvl 76. 14 20?

@bchild
I just did a little testing in the caves too. The ninja pig cave boss gives 1 when he doesn’t “drop” mastery, and 19 when he does. I got some other weird values from other levels in the ninja pig cave too. So ignore my formula above. Lots more testing needed to figure out a formula, if there even is one anymore.
bchild
@bchildDid some testing in caves 19 20 and 21.
For caves 20 and 21 where the pig lvl is 70 to 80, mastery values that I’ve observed:
14 for regular pigs
20 for Big Pirate
26 for Smutje, Master Ninja, MandarinFor cave 19 with lvl 65 to 69 pigs
10 for regular pigs
18 for Frankenpig
24 for Voodoo Berserker
fant
@fantHere’s some new values:
lvl 67 to 68 is 10010
lvl 68 to 69 is 10185
lvl 69 to 70 is 10345Also I think lvl 62 to 63 was 9047 but I’m not 100% sure
burbman
@burbmanJust over a week since the 2.1 update came out. How is everyone doing on the mastery grind? I have earned 67 of the 300 level increases so far, my ten week target appears to be in sight without spending any real world money.
Sutekh137
@sutekh137I have 273 levels to go, so that must mean I have only knocked out 27.
Going to take me longer than ten weeks. I didn’t have many LCs hoarded to buy through the Dojo, and I only got two stars in the Event (team did win, though). If I had had three stars, I would have rolled 5000 for Bomb, Chuck, and “all”. As it stands, I only got Bomb and Chuck. That right there cost me roughly 15 mastery levels, on average.
I have no FE and very few stamina drinks, so events are not going to help me nearly as much as they used to. Competition is fierce — I have to work hard (e.g. using all stamina except overnight) just to get two stars in some cases. And I have rarely missed must time on Dojo buys.
Also seems like the Dojo visits have sucked more. I have not done stats, but I have had several trips where I only got 1 or 2 buys before it was all LC. Did you re-check the stats on the 6-7 buys being average when you mowed through all your LC-bought refreshes?
I might still be on track for 13-15 weeks, maybe even as low as 3 months, which means 3 months of not worrying about it before they raise us to 90 (and it sounds like a nice even amount of time for Rovio to shoot for for “grinders” — half the time between updates. We’ll see. I have not decided if I am going to keep it up. At this point I just want to see what Elites come our way since the reward chest only had three in it last time (I got Samurai, I think Druid and Cap’n were the others?). Still waiting to catch a glimpse of Wizard and Spies, and curious about what rewards will be after we have all the Elites.
Slightly more mastery on the calendar, too, if I am recalling past calendars correctly.
Thanks,

@burbman @sutekh137
I three starred the Kraken event, but my team lost. Got 2500 blues/all/chuck. So all my blues and chuck classes are up to 71 (except Rogues, which is 73 via grinding). Other than that, Witch is 72 via grinding, and Paladin and Frost Savage are 71 via dojo. The rest of my Red, Matty, and Bomb classes are all pretty close to 71 via dojo as well, so I’ll soon be at 33 rank ups since the update.My grinding has been mostly at Mouth Pool so far, but I did some testing last night and will be switching to cave 9-3 going forward, until/unless my Snoutling supply begins to dwindle.
burbman
@burbman@sutekh137 – I received 663 snout upgrades once the dojo opened for me, and spent 540 LC to do so, so in addition to the first lineup, I used 108 resets for a total of 109 lineups, an average of just over six per reset. My team lost the event, but I did get three stars, and the 2500 for all plus two classes, (don’t even remember which ones) Other than that, I have been grinding to get at least three classes upgraded per day. I am grinding Bomb, Chuck, Matilda, and Red up one class at a time, left to right to each level. At the end, I will have the blues who will probably need approx. 125k snouts in the dojo to finish off.
Right now, all Red classes are M72, Chuck has 5 M73, and is finishing off the sixth, Matilda has all classes at M72, Bomb has 4 at M73, and 2 at M72, and The blues have 2 at M71, and four at M72.

@burbman @sutekh137
Oh, and about the dojo, anecdotally I think the 5/6 buys per visit has remained as before, except during the period of time when they were offering the discounted LC buys.
burbman
@burbman@poptimus – I am grinding 9-3 with my weaker birds, and 9-7 with the stronger ones, as that prize wheel has multiple top end crafting items on it. I can keep up with the snoutlings used in the dojo pretty easily as the wealthy rogue shows up frequently, sometimes even more than once per battle.
Anonymous
@burbman
Good call, I’ll start mixing in some 9-7 too
Sutekh137
@sutekh137@poptimus
@burbmanAre 9-3 and 9-7 any better than any other 5-wave Cave 9 battle? I am doing 9-9, currently, and I stay in front of Dojo expenses (due to the wealthy rogue, as mentioned).
Mouth Pool is damn fine for more snoutlings and the ingredients to make health potions, of which I have about 3,200.
And yes, it was probably during the LC discount event that I was seeing way more gold than silver at the Dojo.
Thanks,
sutekh137
burbman
@burbman@sutekh137 – 9-3 and 9-5 have pigs at level 36, versus 9-7 and 9-9 which are at level 37, it does not sound like much, but when grinding weak birds (especially illusionist) it makes the difference between winning and losing battles.
I like 9-7 more than 9-9 because of the items on the prize wheel at the end. Both metal bar and square wood are options on 9-7. As far as I can tell, mastery payout is essentially the same in any of the four levels.
Sutekh137
@sutekh137Huh, I wouldn’t have thought any of these pigs could stand against mastery 71+ birds at level 80 — your birds are a fair bit stronger now, after all.
Granted, I am using strong combos like Wizard/Seadog, Samurai/Marksmen, and Paladin/Spies, but wins have been trivially simple. I suppose there are also those combinations where the birds just buff each other all day long, but I haven’t run into that either. My birds win handily in just a couple minutes (wish the fights were longer, in fact — I miss the 10-wavers!).
I’ll keep in mind the slightly easier levels in case I start having issues, though!
By the way, why would you care about what the wheel offers? I have five figures of most commodities (at least the ones that can build others). I haven’t needs commodities for any reason for a couple years now. What do you need them for on your biggest team?
Thanks,
sutekh137
burbman
@burbmanHaha! Yes, my Grinding method is done without regard to the actual bird combination. I just switch classes when the one before ranks up. Right now it is Illusionist/Frost Savage. Autoplay makes them look like two of the three stooges.
Oh, and I have Bomb equipped with a pickpocket set that is only L72,E0/L47,E0.
I truly don’t need any crafting materials. All other things equal however, I might as well get more of the higher value items stockpiled for any future changes Rovio might make. Having the top end items on hand will also save a little time when I get some L82 set items that I wish to enchant.
Sutekh137
@sutekh137You mean enchant with shards? Can’t we just use any items for that? I usually just find whichever item I still have 15,000+ of and let my finger ride the green plus sign until I reach the spot where I don’t have the shards for it (which is most of the time).
Do “higher level” items run the bar up faster? Never noticed, and I am still well over 10,000 on enough items that no matter what Rovio throws our way I will never run out. They will never let our massive hoards of items be worth anything, because that would forego the chance to squeeze more LC out of folks. Having 15,000 pieces of wood will never mean a thing, I can almost guarantee it.
Thanks,
