@desperate-danWhen he stops this war, he will claim it is another one he has stopped. It’s irrefutable logic.

@briannHe’s the kiddy,At the very least his besty Gianni Infantino(Italian for big baby) will give him another meaningful award.
30 mins in and Fletch and Coisty are at it.Again VAR correctly gives a penalty the ref missed.Listen to this from Ally-“I think the ref does see it but doesn’t award it because he knows VAR will get him out of jail. And it’s wrong!”
VAR blamed for correcting ref’s mistake.Irrefutable logic.

@desperate-danTake your hands off Stanley. He’s 131 years old, poor chap.

@briannHey @desperate-dan wondered if you’ve ever had issues with Bluestacks updating any apps without being prompted?Remember ages ago I mentioned I’d found a complete version of ABO that didn’t crash?(7.8.0)It was bullet proof until a while back I noticed it started playing ads for AB2 and if you failed to complete a level it gave you the option of getting an extra bird if you watched an ad.One of the joys of playing on v 7.8.0(apart from not crashing) was avoiding these annoying interruptions.Sure enough somehow it had morphed into v8.0.3. and now won’t load on BS.
May have coincided with an update I did on BS itself.Any thoughts? Also if I downgrade back to v7.8.0 will I loose progress?Just out of interest Dan what do use as a base Version for ABO?

@atlas-zulayBrian, Dan, and all of my emulator brothers. I highly suggest switching to “MuMu Player” as your main emulator and ONLY getting downloads from “uptodown” website.
Regarding your “downgrade” it depends on how the update happened, Brian. If the data was overwritten in the update then the data is lost. It also depends on how you downgrade.
CodyRoyales
@atlas-zulayTo further add- if you would like for unwanted updates to not happen, put Bluestacks or Mumu in offline mode so it does not load on wifi. This causes data issue. You then config your data go save to your local device NOT to the bluestacks cloud. Then allows you ti have backup saves. Hope this helps.
Ps. Also run windows command prompt in admin (type “cmd”) then run two commands.
“DISM /Online /Cleanup-image”
Then
“Sfc /scannow”
Enjoy. Also, feel free to ask

@briannHi Cody thanks for your imput although most BP members will chortle at the thought of me running commands on pc.Tech and I don’t agree..I don’t know how to do backups for instance.
From what you’ve said previously you mainly(totally?)use Classic so I’m not sure how much you know about the current state of ABO but for the last couple of years or so(based on my own experiments)every version newer than 7.8.0 fails to load up for indefinite periods and with no obvious pattern as to when it kicks off.As I said above 7.8.0 seems immune to this problem.
Based on previous experience the game will be playable again at some point and when it is all my progress will be there but now it’s upgraded to 8.0.3 the problem will recur. So if I could downgrade and maintain that data this would be the ideal thing.I always use Uptodown for apk needs .
Would appreciate your input @desperate-dan given you spend 16 hrs a day on ABO and the other 8 on Classic.Which version do you use these days?Have you had problems updating BS?
Might ping BS a message see if they can help but if they’re anything like Rovio I won’t be holding my breath.

@briannOn Memu I did try it when first looking for an emulator but settled on BS and Nox for older versions.Nothing particularly against it so why do you recommend it @atlas-zulay ?
Desperate Dan
@desperate-danSorry @briann, will try to answer your questions presently. Too busy rewatching Black Doves in preparation for the second series. I thought it was good the first time. Even better the second time round. Crazy plot but the dialog and acting is sooo good.
Desperate Dan
@desperate-dan@briann, I gave up with BS about 18 months ago. I got fed up with glitchy behaviour and ads etc. Since then I have only used Nox. I don’t think it has all the fancy features that the doc uses like spot points (although I haven’t really checked) but it does allow recording and it seems to be a lot more stable. It prompts you for backups every now and then so no specialist knowledge required. My go to version is 7.2.0. This has no ads or silly prompts for extra birds whatsoever. The downside is it does not have the last episode of Piggy Farm and none of Jurassic Pork. As soon as you move on from there (including 7.8.0) it starts to get more difficult to use, culminating in the very awkward 8.3.0. If needed, I can go back to version 1.6 (i think) and that runs OK.
The only reason I would go to Memu is if it would run Classics. So I may give it a try. But I don’t think it will because BS and Nox both fail in exactly the same way. And if I try to download Memu from Uptodown,, my laptop gets very sniffy about security issues. So I haven’t done that yet.
I battle on in ABo in the vain hope that I can get far enough ahead of asher to be safe(ish) if he ever decided to start playing Classics. 800000 is not enough. Even though I lead him in 11 out of 16 episodes, JP will forever be a big problem. So at some point I need to be able to play a stable version of JP. But as you know I hate it with an intensity only matched by that I feel for Piggywood Studios.

@briannThanks for the info @desperate-dan.Must admit up until now I’ve had no issues with BS and had I not decided to update it I would probably still be fine with it.I did lose all my content with Nox some time ago but think that’s the price paid for installing an older version of it.Have some really old stuff on there like AB Magic,Free etc. ABO still not showing up yet on BS but everything else fine.Lesson learned?Don’t update BS.
As for Black Doves.

@briannSome remarkably long standing sporting records have gone in recent days.I’m not a basketball man but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has just broken a 63 y/o record for most consecutive 20 point games in NBA history(127 games).Canadian I believe @karen68?
Alex Johnston has taken another 63 y/o record for most tries scored in Aussie NRL history(213)
But most notable of all is NZ cricketer Brett Randall who recently took 5 wickets in 5 balls for Central Districts in their Plunket Shield game against Northern Districts. The first time it’s ever been done in the almost 250 year history of first class cricket. One of his wickets was a certain Henry Cooper.Feel free to insert your own punch line.

@briannBy my reckoning if France beat England by 87-0 they’ll clinch the wooden spoon.Doable.
Brian N
@briannIn the end the difference was Ramos boot and England indiscipline as they equal the 6 Nations record for most cards in a tournament(9-8 yellow 1 red). They’re not bad with 15 players on the pitch.Remarkable game.Remarkable tournament.
Desperate Dan
@desperate-danRemarkable indeed. France shipped 96 points in their last two matches.
Brian N
@briannThey’ve also been involved in successive matches where 90 points were scored. Can’t think that’s been done before.Certainly not in the 6(5) Nations.
DiscoBeaks
@discobeaksThe platforms are very interesting. I personally use BS. Version 7.5.0 has served me the best in terms of performance and quality. I haven’t had any issues with it yet. The only thing I will say I don’t like about it, is all the ads it has.
After a while, that can be very annoying. If anyone can, let me know if there is a version that could also be handy for certain levels. I don’t suppose it’s a thing, but I know @desperate-dan has hopped over on a number of versions.
I was unaware of Angry Birds replay ability. It was only when Classics came out in April of 2022, that I really got into it.
If anyone could recommend me other versions that would be interesting to look at, let me know. Or even if BS is not the best app player, let me know other places to go.
Much appreciated, Thanks!
Brian N
@briannHi @discobeaks and welcome to the BP.I think @desperate-dan and @atlas-zulay are probably best equipped to help you with which versions help on which levels in ABO.The reason I use PC and BS now is besause I knew to get good scores overall in Seasons I would have to be able to access older versions. As you may know Seasons is particularly glitchy and a lot of those unusually high scores are allowed on the leaderboard.Having an emulator definitely makes swapping easier.
I would say V7.8.0 has served me very well as it always loaded up on request, never crashed or played ads,no in-game prompts either. The main advantage over the versions you and Dan mention is that it has complete JP episode. When it suddenly updated to 8.0.3 all changed of course but the issue is with BS not the 7.8.0 version. In fact I’ve reloaded it onto Nox(I use V3)and it’s behaving perfectly but means starting from scratch if I can’t sort out BS problem.Obviously from Dan’s comments he has had problems with it as he has with BS so I guess everyone has different experiences with these things.
Like I say switching to older versions of ABO is not a road I’ve been down very often but uptodown seem to have nearly all of them. Some of the very old ones may be tricky but Dan mentions using 1.6 so most should be ok.A little tip from my jaunt through Seasons was to tune into the chatter on the walkthrough pages.Take a note of the dates on posts that mention unusually high scores or possible glitches and cross index with the update logs here in the Nest to find out which version of the game was being used at that time. Not sure how much glitchiness there was on ABO but Dan has definitely trawled that particular area.
BTW love the avatar, definitely has a lot of Discobeakiness.

@desperate-danHi @discobeaks. Different versions for different levels? The biggest difference is obviously Classics – should be quite easy to spot which levels Classics is best for, although I think there are possibly one or two undiscovered Classics strategies on levels that have so far remained dominated by ABo. Any level requiring Bubbles, Classics is usually hopeless for. Classics also generally not good in levels where something needs to be pushed without breaking – Classics tends to break things. But I guess you know most of that. As far as different ABo levels go, it’s a bit patchy and although there are possibly as many as 12-15 levels where it pays to go back to an earlier level, I don’t think there is a single level to recommend and also, I haven’t kept any sort of organised record. Ought to be hints in the comments although articular versions are rarely named. You have to guess from the dates. But out and out glitches are usually not available from Uptodown, I have found.
Different platforms certainly behave differently. There are 2 or 3 levels (can’t remember where but it will be in the comments) where Nox and Nox alone seems to cause self-collapsing. That’s a big gain worth having. I always use Nox now. BS may be just as good but Nox to me seems more stable. And Ver 7.2.0 never has ads.
I was interested what you said about getting interested in replay ability and that you got into it when Classics came out. Are you saying that you have found a way of replaying Classics? Not something I have ever managed.
Also, looks like I ought to look at Mumu as well.
