    Time for some more dumb quiz answers.

    Question: What is the fastest a human being has ever travelled when re-entering the earth’s atmosphere in Apollo 10.

    Contestant 1: Pretty fast. 300mph.

    Host: I think some cars go quicker than that.

    Contestant 2: Yes, it’s definitely more. 500mph.

    Contestant 1: Yes, that’s better. It’s near that. Not something really stupid like 20000mph.

    Answer: 24000mph.

    I don’t expect them to know the answer, but for goodness sake.

    Quite an intense look from Twiggy there Dan.The thousand yard stare from 3 feet always works.

    Yes, mini-Schnauzers are famous for that look. It can be terrifying. They know something.

    Twiggy’s friend Colin went to vote in today’s elections, according to the BBC.

    Brian N
    @briann

    I think that was the Monster Raving Loony Party candidate…I’d vote for him.

    Work Highlight of the Week.

    So I was walking up the drive to start a house(Duke St. to be precise)and the gardener was already there standing with his back to me trying to start a petrol powered leaf blower.Only it wouldn’t.So he’s getting more and more frustrated and finally he pulled the rip cord so hard he lost his balance and fell over .Landing on his arse and rolling onto his back he sheepishly looked round to see if anyone saw him and there I was larger than life.”Bet you’re glad that wasn’t a chainsaw” I said.I swear I can’t help myself.

    <tap, tap> Hello?  Anyone still around?  It’s been a long time since I visited. I kinda miss the community.

    Hi @abcrazy, see you found the new premises. There a few of us still around, one or two old timers you might know. Some just lurk, coming out when there are free drinks. Others just stick weird stuff on the jukebox. Once in a blue moon there’s actually a post about Angry Birds. Otherwise we moan about how bad our respective governments are without getting into actual politics. Not quite the same vibe as when @kathy was with us, unfortunately. But chugging along slowly.

    @briann

    Greedings @abcrazy (aren’t we all?).Yes I’m afraid the community upped and left years ago about the same time as Rovio left Angry Birds is my guess.Just us old chisellers here now but we do have a laugh.BTW it’s Dan who puts the weird music on the jukebox.https://youtu.be/kxrMD7Moy1k?si=7DK8ULk5gCEaNFRG

    You’ve frightened him off now @ixan57 and anyway who are you calling a mad dog?She’ll bite yer ankles.

    Alright, add a Texan.  I flung a bit on the daily challenge yesterday.  Couldn’t beat my previous high score, but that’s ok.  Honestly, I dont think I’ve played in about 10 years. I do occasionally get the sherif notice when one of my top scores gets defeated.  I’m glad to see there are still players playing.  Sipping a Gewurtztraminer at the moment.  Cheers! BTW,

    @briann
    I’m a ‘she’, but we wont let preferred pronouns get in the way.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Sorry about that Miss Texas.In these days of gender fluidity what’s a pronoun between friends?Actually my preferred pronoun is she but only at weekends.Wonder what the ratio is between male and female flingers?@desperate-dan is our resident statistician and probably knows the answer to a fraction of a percentage point.

    Intrigued to know what brings you back after 10 years.The irresistable lure of the birds?Change of circumstance?Quite a few others seem to be doing the same thing and like yourself I had the sheriff call recently as @to-walking-tall bagged a trophy of mine in Egg Snatchers.Good on ‘im I say…or ‘er!

    Noticed there’s a film on Sky at the moment called The Cleaner where Daisy Ridley a ‘soldier turned window cleaner’ attempts to rescue 300 hostages.I’ll give her a pass on the action scenes but shall keep a beady eye on her window cleaning technique.They never get it right.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Well that’s an hour and a half of my life I’ll never get back.Can’t decide what was worse ,the film or the window cleaning.At the end after killing a dozen people our Daisy was told by the officer in charge that  she’d done a great job.Obviously not a reference to the windows.

    @desperate-dan

    We know it’s really like this @brianN.  Some useful techniques for you here.

    Brian N
    @briann

    A very authentic performance from that fine English thespian Robin Askwith a keen student of Stanislavski.Apparently in preperation for ‘Confessions’ he spent 6 months in a monastery where he did nothing but flirt with monks and clean stained glass windows so that when he was unleashed on a council estate full of bored slappers it was a doddle.Very much an actor’s actor here are a couple of quotes that give us a flavour of his craftsmanship.

    “The way he held his ladder took method acting to new heights..you lookin’ at me?”     Robert De Niro.

    “Nobody wielded a blade that!”      Zorro.

    “His Shakespearian performances were greatly underrated.I for one will never tire of seeing his Bottom.”    Derek Jacobi.

    Desperate Dan
    @desperate-dan

    Well, we are educating people, aren’t we?

    Brian N
    @briann

    Well @desperate-dan can your boys pull off mission impossible in Paris tonight?Can’t say I saw anything in the first leg to make me think they can but it’s only 1-0 so anything can happen.Trouble is Arsenal seem to have gone off the boil at the wrong time while PSG are going in the opposite direction.Their version of the full court press is impressive when out of possession.Hopefully Cruise,Pegg and Rhames are all fit to play.
