@desperate-danOn the basis that swifts (obviously with a Chiefs connection) can fly at up to 105mph and eagles top out at a 100mph dive, it’s Kansas by my impeccable reckoning. Twiggy will provide a prediction for her normal fee, $777.77 paid up front.
And it’s all gone a bit quite here in Wales. Now ranked below Georgia, apparently.
Desperate Dan
@desperate-danI think Warren Gatland has just departed on that Midnight Train.
Desperate Dan
@desperate-danDon’t we ask the Superb Owl for Superbowl advice, @karen68?

@briannOut of respect for the Bunnymeister I refrained from mentioning wooden spoons.Out of respect for Twiggy who is clearly an otherwise exceptional dog I refrained from mentioning she’s a rubbish tipster.Time to embrace it and move on(the spirit of Paul Octopus lives on).I think our Kags must be worrying about Canada becoming the 51st state.I thought that was us?
Brian N
@briannAnyway time for some more English culture.J is for Jennifer and I love this video, the kids look like they’re having so much fun. https://youtu.be/VEIhJM-atiI?si=XgJ-gHAvC1gFW3de

@vuelvaah, the blissful ignorance of abn-youth thnking i never posted scores: i went through double trouble, first posting all my scores (and strats) upon joining the nest (in 2011), then deleting them again (for the reasons mentioned; then found that one can’t delete comments). in the interim i was top-runt for several games. first for ab-free (since 2012, score never surpassed), then abo (around 2014, after manu malin and bastieroxxor and before asher and desperate dan), and finally a few abs episodes (e.g. tp, iotes, sh, gggl). i get the most satisfaction out of thinking of strats and making them work. finding the top-scoring strats for ab-free 15-1 till 15-3 (see under archived boards under leaderboards) felt like ab-epiphanies and started it off. nowadays, just like with other games i enjoy (football, chess, rubik’s cube,…) i follow abn mostly at a distance also for bsc, british sub-culture, as i wrote.
i take your word for it, so have the fall replace tommy cooper at the top of my bsc list (i always thought tommy cooper to be the pinnacle of bsc, as it was one of the few british shows on dutch television at the time).

@desperate-danIf you are into strategies @vuelva, then Classics gives some new opportunities and is worth a try.

@briannA lot of the old AB Web games are coming back to life and I’m sure I’ve seen AB Free somewhere. Were they different levels from Original?
Brian N
@briannWell given all the yattering you two were doing about BC 17-7 and given today’s challenge is another from the naughty list I had a go at it and 180k is very doable.Just got 177,469 changing the shot order and leaving the upper tower till last.
Desperate Dan
@desperate-danThrough the medium of Brussels sprouts (sprouts don’t lie*), Twiggy has chosen the Eagles.
*or something like that
Desperate Dan
@desperate-danWhat Challenge level are you talking about @brianN? I’m seeing a Rio Carnival one and that’s clearly not what you are talking about.
Desperate Dan
@desperate-dan“Man’s pop-up urinal death may never be explained” is not a headline I ever expected or wanted to read.
Brian N
@briannI remember Harry Hill used to feature bizarre local newspaper headlines such as ‘Exeter seagull turned off my TV’ Anyway this is for the Superb Owl on her special night…
karen68
@karen68@desperate-dan I’m no help! Not a football fan.
And don’t get me started on the 51st state thing. 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Desperate Dan
@desperate-danThe psychic sprouts have spoken. I’m keeping that packet for Twiggy’s future predictions.
You’re off the case @karen68, relax.
53rd state?
Brian N
@briannAnd I thought that ‘mean green machine’ was a reference to the Eagles defensive O-line .Who knew it was a reference to psychic sprouts.

@vuelvaAB Free was free and meant as a teaser for AB. Each time a new episode for AB came out, AB free would be updated with 3 new, original (and often quite interesting), levels in the theme of the new episode. Once AB turned out to be a big hit, this (and the fun) stopped and Rovio switched to sneak-preview mode, just including 3 levels selected from new AB episodes, before decommissioning AB Free altogether. That’s my perception of its history; would have to ask Rovio about the real history. Would be surprised if they would revive it, but on the other hand never understood the motivation for making games stop to work (having grown up with arcade games, I love MAME), especially if they are offline single-player games (virtually no security risks).
Only wanted to express that my interest in high-scores is derived from my interest in strategies; they are essential to validate a strategy but otherwise they do not hold (old comments elsewhere on abn express the same sentiment).Atm not motivated to try my hand on new AB games (but who knows), happy to occasionally revisit some old level, follow abn from the sidelines, and absorb bsc; have some puppets at hand, e.g. Statler and Waldorf (never mind they hail from New Amsterdam), if reenacting is in order.

@desperate-danMy contribution to British sub-culture is increasingly trying to find the worst answer to a quiz question on British television. “Worst” being defined by a combination of the degree of error and the degree of jaw-dropping nonsense.
Today’s question: How many households were listed in Birmingham at the time of the Domesday Book (i.e. 1089).
Contestant: 50,000 households
Answer: 9
Brian N
@briannTwo cynical old muppets sniping from the sidelines.Where have I seen that before?
Anyways Rovio aren’t responsible for bringing back the old webgames but a bunch of enthusiastic AB fans with the knowhow and some lucky find on a web domain somewhere(don’t know what one of those is but glad it turned up).Think I’ve finally reached my boredom threshold for the regular games if I do come across AB Free might have a go at beating your scores @vuelva .Though by the sound of it I don’t think you’d be that bothered.Don’t know how you can endlessly play ABO @desperatedan.In my search for pastures new have started playing AB Friends purely to 3* tournament levels without PU’s so no chance of making an impression on the leaderboards.
And finally news of some feral pigs romping about the Highlands.Could have told them there are a few living on our street.
Desperate Dan
@desperate-dan“Naked lust for top runt” sums it up. Now that’s a headline I would like to see.
HunnyBunny
@hunnybunny@vuelva I remember you from Seasons, a great flinger, I hardly fling anymore due to the “runts” going back to find old versions to boast their scores.
Rovio had a lot to answer for
Nice to hear from you
Where are you in the UK?
Desperate Dan
@desperate-danWe need a representative in England. The rest of us regulars are all in the Celtic fringes. It’s a sub-culture thing.
Desperate Dan
@desperate-danDrinks are available plus assorted nibbles. Managed to overhaul asher in Birdday Party at last, the final Classics assisted episode where I hadn’t managed it. Now I need to sort out Bad Piggies where, somewhat implausibly, we are locked in a 5519790 to 5519790 dead heat for first place.
