    Speaking of Midsomer I see the latest offering centred around a drag show in the village of Elverton-cum-Latterly.Who writes this stuff?Russell T davies?

    Hopefully one of these days he’ll be the victim of a trouser fire while he’s wearing them.

    Hey Dan on the basis of body count per solution Dixon of Dock Green must’ve been in a league of his own.

    Hey @desperate-dan I am going to try and bring back a read only version of the old BP somewhere on the site. It likely will be one massive page — not sure yet. One step at a time. Thanks!

    Nick Drake died 50 years ago this week. This is sublime. Strings arranged by Harry Robinson who was (wait for it…) the leader of Lord Rockingham’s XI.

    C’mon, that’s a link to die for isn’t it?

    Just when you thought reality tv  had reached an all time low Discovery+ have come up with…

    Meet the Rees-Moggs

    Kill me now.

    Speaking of comedy shows cut off in their prime I was reminded of this from It’s Kevin. For those not familiar with the famous Bill Grundy interview with the Sex Pistols someone on Utube cobbled them both together. This is Kevin Eldon’s take on things

    At least Count Arthur got 3 series.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Yes poor Kevin just got the one series. Those meanies at the BBC again however they do period drama better than anyone. Loving Wolf Hall although there’s a lot of creaking going on. Can’t work out if it’s Henry’s knees or the wooden flooring Nothing wooden about the acting, Rylance and Lewis superb. My wife on the other hand hates it. She reckons if it was any slower they’d go back in time.Course they are back in time but we know what she meant.

    This from Tipping Point:
    What organ pumps the body with blood?
    Pass

    Saw Hamilton (the musical) last night. Bought the tickets 14 months ago, due to the hype. Three hours of my life I will never get back…

    @hunnybunny

    I hated the book, but might give the TV show a look, due to Brian’s recommendation

    @briann

    You’ll have to take in series one first @hunnybunny which was made 10 years ago,I’d almost given up on S2.

    If you like a faster pace Day of the Jackal is superb.Also looking forward to a new Rogue Heroes (bet Mr Compton likes that one).

    Is the answer Wurlitzer?

    Brian N
    @briann

    I’m not sure a musical about a formula one driver would ever work.

    Desperate Dan
    @desperate-dan

    Think you might get censored @brianN. But as far as I remember,  it’s word for word correct and therefore a bona fide historical document.

    As long as my head remains attached to my body I’m fine with it. Pedants will always find fault.

    Is it just me or does anyone else feel a little a little sorry for Greg Wallace just now?I don’t particularly like his presenting style (bit too in yer face for my liking,prefer Torrode’s more relaxed style) and I rarely watch Masterchef so I don’t have any skin in the game but it all seems a bit OTT.

    You have people coming out of the woodwork with comments like:

    “Yes I worked on the show 15 years ago and he mocked my name and was unpleasant.”

    No definition of unpleasant.Her name?Mi Mi Aye.Nothing to mock there.Apparently he called her You You.

    Even Sir Rod Stewart has stuck his oversized beak in as his wife was ‘humiliated’ by Wallace on Celebrity Masterchef.Did he make reference to her soggy bottom?Oh wait different show.Given that wheels will turn and his career is probably over it’s a little vindictive from the megarich crooner to be nursing a petty  grudge like that .

    I always wonder whether there’s an unseen agenda being played out behind the scenes in situations like this.The most serious allegation seems to be that he was a bit smutty and made sexualised jokes.That’s half of showbiz getting sacked then?

    Desperate Dan
    @desperate-dan

    Some of the accusations are very tame indeed and it does seem odd that people have waited literally decades to give feedback.  Looks like this going to be the second extinction of the dinosaurs though.

    Poor Gregg he really fell on his sword with his “most complaints are from middle class women of a certain age” remark.The menopause meanies have descended on him like a horde of Banshees.Must say though his joke about a contestant’s dish tasting like ‘his aunt’s vagina’ was in very poor taste.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Even his co presenter John Torode(pronounced toad)has said “We were never friends”.Ouch.
