@killerkeaIf you used my suggestions from a long time ago regarding the dojo you could easily average a lot more than 6 snoutling upgrades/visit. Also how hard is it to set an alarm on your phone to remind you every 3 hours to visit the dojo? You should be able to visit the dojo 6 times a day if you set an alarm to remind you.
What I did was I always selected the mastery for the birds I wanted to upgrade first so my Avenger was the lowest rank because I never used him. Note: I did not select the birds I used the most since they would gain mastery quickly anyways. This way I would sometimes get 2 or 3 upgrades for a specific bird and only one for the Avenger or other birds that weren’t valuable since you can’t have the same offer on the screen simultaneously. Once you max out the rank of the majority of your birds you can concentrate on maxing out all classes of a certain type like all of Chuck’s classes that way you eliminate the possibility of getting the 15 LC offer to upgrade Chuck which will increase your chance of getting a snoutling offer.
Once you get down to 2 or 3 birds left that aren’t maxed you will average more than 6 snoutling offers. Once you get all, but one of your birds maxed out you will be able to buy continuous snoutling upgrades until your last bird is maxed out. I maxed out 23 birds, then in 5 minutes bought over a hundred snoutling upgrades to get my Avenger from rank 8 to rank 10, then I bought the Thunderbird and upgraded him from rank 1 to 10 in about 10 minutes. Later when the Stone Guardian became available I upgraded him from rank 1 to 10 in about 10 minutes. This is like buying over 600 consecutive snoutling upgrades. That skews the 6 snoutling average a bit.
KillerKea
@killerkeaI can confirm that snoutling upgrades for the Illusionist are available in the dojo. Earlier today I was able to purchase 14 snoutling upgrades in one visit. I think my best if you don’t count the technique used when down to your last 2 birds is 18.
MVNLA2
@mvnla2@sutekh137 — I was using the Illusionist in SRC on autoplay, but he freezes the game a lot, typically in the first wave. He seems to have the same problems as Sonic.
GrauGeist
@graugeistI got an Illusionist upgrade in the Dojo as well. Woo-hoo!
____BTW, just got an AMAZING string of a dozen purchases even though I’m not fully maxxed out. If these continue, I’ll be at 12s in no time.
MVNLA2
@mvnla2Yes, I did get an Illusionist upgrade in Dojo. One so far.
Sutekh137
@sutekh137I have no idea what you are referring to since, as you said, it was a long time ago. Are you saying there is a way to pick which Dojo slot to use to get more snoutling-based offerings? You have a foolproof system? Did that system make it to the front page of the Mastery thread? I’ll admit I didn’t re-read everything the last time I visited, but I didn’t notice any revolutionary changes.
And you can tone down the rhetoric about setting alarms. Geesh. Yeah, I’m not deficient, I know how to set alarms. I had a Psion 5 back in the 1990s and thought I was all that when I caught myself entering ‘Go to bed’ and ‘Wake up’ in my calendar as if they were two separate events. (Name _that_ movie!)
It’s not about remembering, it’s about opportunity. Not sure what you do for a living, or if you ever drive a car, or if you are ever away from wi-fi, but I’m playing Epic on a non-cellular tablet. Even if I did have cellular capability, are you saying I should set my alarm and then, in my car, go visit the Dojo while driving down the road at 60 miles per hour? No, I’m not going to do that. That’s bad. Like a whole suitcase full of bad.
Or, in my office: “Oh, Brenda, you dropped by to discuss changes to the order entry system? Sorry, my alarm just went off so you are going to have to wait while Epic takes 2 minutes to load up (if it doesn’t crash while doing so) and then I have to buy mastery at a Dojo based on a really strong bird.”
Yeah, probably not going to happen. *smile*
I’m an adult with a job and a family. Setting an alarm is the least of my implementation challenges. All I said was that I prefer CPC because it is easier, and that I have plenty of snoutlings (and CPC gets enough of them to cover the Dojo). Do what you want to do. But please don’t cast aspersions about how other people need to learn how to set an alarm as if that had never occurred to them.
Good grief,

I’m not telling anyone to play the game while driving, at work or any time it isn’t convenient. In the U.S. you are legally entitled and at some places required to take a break every 2 hours. I also used to play on a wireless only tablet, but I also have a smart phone. You can play the game on both devices. I no longer play on my tablet because the game has become bloated and bug ridden so it is too slow and crashes too often on my tablet. It crashes too often on my cell phone too, but my iPhone 6+ is a lot faster. If CPC works for you, keep using it. I prefer using SRC and the dojo. If you average 6 snoutling upgrades/visit, that is 3000 mastery each time. It only takes a minute to make those purchases so for me this is a better method. SRC gets you more snoutlings and you can do it 100% on auto play so I can watch TV and every few minutes click a couple buttons to restart the battle on auto play if I need snoutlings.
Angry Johnny
@angryjohnnyWell I can confirm that the 6000 points reward for all birds on the Sonic Event reward wheel will also count towards the Illusionist class so that is good :-)
KillerKea
@killerkeaThe game crashed on me right when I clicked on the accept button after I got the 6000 for all birds, but fortunately I didn’t have to do the spin again and when I logged back in my Illusionist went from rank 2 to rank 4.
essamar
@essamarI have had to start over from the beginning and have just reached the dojo. I can’t remember how to get the discount cards. Can someone refresh my memory?
Angry Johnny
@angryjohnny@essamar You used to get one every 7 days from battling the golden pig but now you only get one every month from the calender.
essamar
@essamarWOW that is different and disappointing. Thanks for the information.
GrauGeist
@graugeistAlso, if you have more than 60 cards, you don’t get more than -30% discount. Seems if you have 62 cards, you should be at -31% discount, because the cards are so rare now.
essamar
@essamarI am playing on a Kindle Fire through Amazon and there is a problem with the upgrade. When I try to download the upgrade, there is a message that the game is not currently supported on the Kindle Fire HD. Amazon is aware of the problem and they are trying to fix it but it is taking a long time. I did not get the Sonic mini campaign at all. It is OK because I am playing on two devices and the other one is doing great. It is interesting to play the lower levels again.
I am getting the DOJO discount tonight through the daily awards. It will be interesting to see how much it is since it only appears once a month.
Thanks for the help.
Jim151
@jim151SRC gets you more snoutlings and you can do it 100% on auto play so I can watch TV and every few minutes click a couple buttons to restart the battle on auto play if I need snoutlings.
That’s the key. I just tried to do CPC on auto play, and the last round was an endless loop of Paladin buffs Illusionist, Ilusionist and Cannoneer buff Paladin. When the rage chili fills, paladin wastes it. The game would never end.
KillerKea
@killerkea@graugeist I’ve posted this many times, but it has been a while since I last posted it. Now it will work a little differently since you don’t get the ME stamps weekly anymore, but the formula should be the same.
The way the dojo discount works is you start with a base discount if 7.5% which increases by .75% for 20 weeks, then .5% for 10 weeks, then .25% for 10 weeks and is capped at 30%.
GrauGeist
@graugeistOK, then uncap it so we are at -31% 2 months from now. :eyeroll:
OMG.
I just wasted 75 LCs when my phone lagged and I bought mastery for all birds.
I am so mad.
