In a tournament, I would rather come in 4th-8th place than 2nd or 3rd. 2nd and 3rd get 50 gems. In 4th-8th, with the two tickets I win, I see this like this very often:

I completely agree. Using this method, in a month span, I unlocked and upgraded all of the most expensive carts in each category to 300cc

There is much faster way to earn gems than TOURNAMENT.

Use DAILY RACES in smart way… you can get 100+ tickets a day.

In DAILY RACES you have to collect 25 stars a day.
1. Collect 22, 23 or 24 stars
2. Last race finish at 2nd position so the violet button will be available
3. Press green button for extra 3 stars – after watching movie violet button will be still available
…. you can repeat pressing violet button as many times as you wish…

Limitations:
– try to be at 2nd position (violet button will not appear if you take 1st position and get 3 stars)
– you have to be able to watch movies – if not pressing button will not work – the game will not start, so first: play one or two TOURNAMENTS…
