  • @Lyrian -- Welcome to the BP! Did you figure out how to get notifications here yet? There are directions from @EStar a couple of pages back. I think you need to click on your name on the upper right, and then go to notifications.
  • @Lyrian -- Hope you are getting notifications, because you need to refresh the page often to keep up with new posts and page changes.
Been a while since I changed a page, and need to run.
  • PS: it's taking me forever to type. I'm on my phone and autocorrect is making me want to pull my hair out! Let me just say that it's a good thing I proofread or you all would asphyxiate from laughing at the stuff my phone is trying to say.
  • @Lyrian you definitely need to meet @Kathy. Her phone is famous for some of the legendary stuff it's typed.
  • @lyrian glad to be of assistance. Just keep the rodent on his toes :-)

@kelani if you don't mind the travel, my dentist is really cute, blonde, about thirty, cuddly, SINGLE, although a small amount of baggage: a five year old son. I'm sure he'd soon love Uncle Kel
  • Well that was the best dental visit ever. I didn't leave home! :D He called to say he was running way behind. Of course, being 'way behind' doesn't mean he can't kick back on the phone talking about Dolly Parton tomatoes and heirloom okra.

    Now it's Beak Time.
  • Good afternoon/evening @all
Well my breakfast was ruined by @kelani yesterday and at lunchtime today sheriff @burpie came knocking! Jeez guys......Thanks ;( Well done burpie! I managed another few hundred points but they are 2 tough shots for high scores (E18) I don't have the patience to try again any time soon so good luck anyone trying to beat Burpies score! "Luckily" I don't have any more trophies to lose so my doorbell at dinnertime tomorrow evening should be quiet ;D
Hi and welcome to the mad house @Lyrian! You should definitely let your phone do it's own thing in here! We've become quite adept at reading @Kathys hoodoo voodoo so it shouldn't be a problem! If you want to keep up with the high speed chatter then you may just have to! Nobody will take offence if we're insulted by your phone ;) Well done on some great scores! I hope you enjoy your time in your 2nd home!! No joke! The nest is easy to enter but impossible to leave. I hope your fiancé is a patient man? Haahaaaa!!
Just about to settle down for the evening with a large bowl of pasta and watch the World Cup opening ceremony. No I'm not a footie fan but like opening ceremonies!!
    Have a good day/evening everyone
  • @bernersenn @fenikus @allbeakoneplayers I just looked at Mister Rat's scores. I estimate that once his second "pass" of BI one is complete, he'll be at least 15/20k ahead. Please join me in the attempt to oust him from his habitual #1 spot..........
  • Mrs. Bunny, I was just going to give you heads up that I was temporarily overrun by Space rats. I regained my position in the trenches and am holding them back for the moment, to give you and @bern-dawg a chance to escape. Whatever you do, don't look back, the battle will be bloody.
  • @bernersenn, mein Freund, you were actually spot on with that Feniks thing. Just like in (apparently) Dutch and German, Phoenix is spelled Feniks in my native tongue. When I first started using internet, I was just starting my new life here in USA, "raising from ashes" if you will, and wanted Phoenix to be my moniker. It was obviously taken, but so was Feniks. So I improvised and changed it to Fenikus, giving it that cool Latin twist, in an effort to make people think that I'm smarter and cooler than I really am.

What I would really like to know is what those clowns on that Dutch website that @Kelani found are all about: http://www.fenikus.nl/. They look like they're having fun but I don't read Dutch.
  • @hunnybunny Hmm. That all sounds lovely. Attached kids are great. I like them, and they (usually) like me. If nothing else, I'd rather have your dentist's hands in my mouth. My guy could palm a beach ball and still use his phone. Actually, wait a minute. Aren't you in Wales? If so, how's her accent? I've heard a few Welsh accents that made my skin crawl :P

When I moved across NC in 2000, I had to find a new doctor, so I just picked the closest one. When she walked in for my first appt. I almost fell off the table. This woman looked exactly like Natalie Portman. I had to go find another doctor. It was just too weird.
  • @fenikus I can smell his musty sewer odour. I don't have to look back.
Tomorrow it'll be looking forward, I'm afraid. But I'm up for a bloody battle.
  • @fenikus lol I wondered that as well. Were any of those Warcraft/gaming fenikuses?...fenikettes?...fenikii? also you, or some Serbian kid with the same idea?

@JLZ Aw. :( I don't want to be known as a breakfast ruiner. May I whip up an omelette for you sometime, to make up for my breaking your space eggs? ;)
  • Thanks for the welcome JLZ 666, mostly my phone behaves itself when I'm writing, but I'm not sure that @Hunnybunny will appreciate being referred to as hunky bunny, or that @kelani wants to be melanin. Fortunately for me, my fiance is waaaay a more patient person than me and he's usually distracted with his own stuff, trying to build a YouTube channel. So far, the BP has been a lot of fun, hope you guys don't get sick of hearing from me.

@fenikus: I meant to ask you earlier, how many pups do you have? I have 4 here, the thundering herd is a bunch of laughs, but they sure know how to try my patience.
  • @kelani I know all about some awful Welsh accents (valleys accents) but think of Richard Burton, Anthony Hopkins, and indeed Katherine Zeta Jones (looks there, rather than accent) All born within 50 miles of me. And the cute dentist just talks sort of normal.
I was born in England, and can do 'awfully posh' if I really try. I seem to remember @rat met me once in 1979 at the races, I'm sure he'll confirm my cut glass accent
  • @Kelani, I've been known to play some chess and mahjong online, but am not a video gamer. All I play is Angry Birds. It just has that fine balance of being silly and intellectual at the same time, which appeals to me.
  • @lyrian hunky bunny is ok, I've been called worse
Time to fling, see you all later
  • Hey, hey what did i see? I became pop-ups on my screen with mentions in it. Great.
@fenikus, your nickname is really nice, raises from the ashes. I can remember the situation on the Balkan, (from tv). It was aweful. Later in the 90's we became friends with a serbian girl, she was waiting for residence permit (is it called that way) in the Netherlands. It took years and finally she got it - so was her son. She told me a lot of the mess overthere. A beautiful country with bad people in the regime. Today it's getting normal.
@hunnybunny, you are talking fairy tales. Look at @rat? Perhaps. You are not doing that bad yourself. Good for you - I'm working on it (and with me a lot of other players).
  • Hi @JLZ666 So @Burpie won the runoff election for Sheriff against you. I was pulling for you to stay in office. At least he's a kind benevolent man who will look out for your interests. You do know you can request a recall election at any time if you so desire. Enjoy your opening ceremonies. I know I'm going to get some hate mail, but I don't follow the World Cup either.

@Lyrian I hated leaving so abruptly earlier. I was enjoying getting acquainted. But I see a few flingers were kind enough to say a few nice things about me in my absence. I will be sure to repay there kindnesses. *evil laughter*
You seem to be fitting right in. Don't forget that these flingers are from all over the world. I'm jealous that so many flingers speak more than one language. But if you get a strange look occasionally while making an innuendo or bad pun, it could be that they just don't understand. Or it was a real bad pun!

@Kelani You've been busy. Not only flingin', but brushing up on your dating skills too. So many wingmen, so few Kel's. lol I'm just happy they're picking on someone in addition to me. I wish it was instead of me, but I'll take whatever reprieve I can get.

@HunnyBunny Don't forget. I did say level 13 was a tough strategy. I may grow old waiting for that thank you. I know @Burpie is looking at it now saying "I can beat that".
    *and he will, grrr*
  • @fenikus those are some cute pups! All but one of mine are also rescues of indeterminate breed. I will try to get pics of them all, but they are passed out on the floor/couches at the moment. I'm having trouble getting in flinging time as well, the new pup is very demanding. He also doesn't know the meaning of "sleep in". And our eldest recently had surgery so she's been requiring extra care.

@rat9 It's alright, sometimes ya just gotta run out. I'm not going anywhere, unless my fiance puts me in rehab for angry birds addiction.
  • @fenikus bernersenn just jogged my memory. I went through Europe by train, aged 19. Yugoslavia was still communist, a beautiful country, beautiful, friendly people. They would jump off the train to bring you some of their local food. At a station, of course! Only been back once to Dubrovnik, interesting, but sad, to see how they have (nearly) rebuilt it after the war. Do you ever go back?
  • Look out behind you @Lyrian. We're about to be overrun by angry flingers in BI #2. I can see the pitchforks and torches from here.
  • @hunnybunny, just cracked the #19, now heading to my favorite #14 (why is this number in my memory that much?)
  • Well @rat9, it was bound to happen sometime. I never expected to hold the top slot for long, but it sure was sweet while it lasted.
  • Btw, this afternoon I also saw the new sheriff.
Looked again at the leaderboard and the new #1 isn't there anymore, isn't that weird?
  • I can't defend both areas of Beak Impact @Lyrian. You're on your own for a few more days in BI #2. My poor fat thumb isn't up to flingin' as much as I want it too. It keeps trying to go limp from nerve entrapment. Men don't like when that happens. If I give it long breaks, it seems to be holding up, but it's slow going.
  • @hunnybunny for a good strat for #19 you have to speak to @hunnybunny. She knows how it works
  • @Lyrian I think it's so funny. They actually have a schedule for flingers to keep me occupied in the BP to distract me from flingin'. They think if I'm in here, they have a chance. They need to stop thinking short term.
    WTG @Bernersenn
  • @rat9, you're leaving me to defend against the hordes all alone? Your thumb better heal up quick, I don't know how long I can hold them off for. Besides, I think you are just trying to stop me from chasing you down in part 1. :P
  • @rat - good thinking my friend, really good thinking. Keep up these thoughts.
  • Didn't you here me say they have pitchforks @Lyrian? Of course I'm outta there.

Edit: I'm a large 6'5" tall man with a flat head. I don't like fire or pitchforks for obvious reasons.
  • @Hunnybunny, life in old Yugoslavia was rather good -- even though communist (socialist really), it was never part of the Eastern Block and we had a very smart leader who was being courted (in dollars and rubles) by both West and East. It pains me to think what could have become of that country once the communism fell…it had all the ingredients to become great. But, as @bernersenn said, there were bad nationalist regimes in place in biggest states of the federation and things quickly went south…and I mean really south. People in the Balkans have a tendency to self-destruct. This utter disappointment is part of the reason I haven't been back yet, but plan to in the near future.
  • @Lyrian 'melanin' would be the nicest autocorrect I've gotten in here. Stick around long enough and one of these jokers is bound to mention the...others.

@Rat Johnny Cash just told me That B2 overrun's a'comin.

@bernersenn Are you saying someone's #1 scores were removed today?
  • @kelani, yes, that's what I meant. Got that aweful message about that sheriff, he/she reported 100k. I looked shortly, didn't had much time since I was at work. #16 was that game and when I looked tonight I still had one highscore. Not that it matters, but weird it is. Perhaps that one of our admins can report something on this.
    Cc: @sunshine
  • @fenikus, you'vw right, it's a beautiful country with also beautiful people - man and woman. A handful of nasty people can ruin a complete country. As said, they're moving in the right direction, most of the (separate) republics are now member of the EU. The EU was once founded to prevent new wars between Germany and France, dragging the rest in it. That succeeded and it will on the Balkan. The EU itself is subject to a lot of critics, but that mission is complished.
  • On E-18, has anyone had the piggy starship get stuck in his cage? I was on track for a new high score, but now he's sitting there banging against a stone, trying to get out.

@bernersenn Maybe the person made a typo and removed it? With all the wrong scores from the leaderboard glitch and some possible fake scores, I'm sure you can expect more of that, though.
  • @Lyrian -- Hi again! Just thought you might want to know that in the old forum, which is where the Bloated Pig is located, Rat is only @Rat, not @Rat9. This difference in names is a point of confusion for most, if not all of us. It's not just Rat, but anyone whose user name is different than their nickname. When you are in the old forum, use the name you see listed there. When on the rest of the site, use what is listed there as their @mention name. You can see both when looking up a user's profile, at least while you are on the rest of the site.
Confused? Join the club! Which of course you have.
  • @mvnla2 ah wonderful, more confusion! Thanks for the heads up, I had no idea there was a difference between the two.

*edit* btw, my phone thinks your user name should be man-law, so if you see that, I'm probably trying to talk to you. *edit ends*
  • @kelani, for #18 I wrote a comment in the walkthrough. It was a doublure of another one, but very easy. Fling bb parallel on the spaceship below and split just before the stoneclew. The only thing that can happen is that the cryptonite on the right doesn't explode. So keep up, recognized your caged piggy.
  • @bernersenn, I've had the same thing happen for me several times in the past. Explanation: new sheriff in town email is sent immediately, even if a person enters score in a wrong level and corrects the mistake right away. I may have even been guilty of freaking someone out like that a couple time in the past myself ;)

Eh, enough talk about the Balkan wars, what's done is done. We have our own Space Wars, albeit friendly kind, to talk about :-)
  • @bernersenn and @kelani the sheriff notification is just to let you know someone has beaten you top. Like @rat9 said, maybe it was typo.

  • Well hello everyone! ! @lyrian nice to see you jumping right in and joining in our 'Looney' forum lol.
I see no one has offered you your free drink and meal of your choice on the house for your first visit. OB (the bartender will serve you anything you'd like :)
And yep I see you've been told of my hoodoo phone ..yipee finally im not alone. .!! Is just sometimes it gets so busy in here there's no time for proofread lol..
    Anyhow welcome; )
  • @fenikus that has happened to me several times , n by the time i check it's been removed already.
  • Thanks for the welcome @kathy! I'm having an awful lot of fun here in the looney bin. I was told some history of the BP, and I can't believe they wanted to shut you guys down. I think this is a great place to have a chat and take a well deserved break from flinging, though it has been distracting me all day!

@fenikus I just posted pics of my pups, but anyone is welcome to check them out and say how adorable they all are. :)
  • Just got the exact same email - new sheriff. On the leaderboard didn't change anything
  • Nah @Lyrian they didn't want to shut us down lol..whoever told ya that (my guess @kelani) was just pullin your leg ..tsk tsk kelani ..
I'm glad your enjoying it. .it can be distracting though and hmm they probably are Trying to distract you so they can jump you on the boards!! Watch out there a sneaky bunch lol..except for rat he's good!
  • @Rat -- Yes, I am one of those just above average flingers who probably wouldn't get there without help from those at the top. But I think I enjoy the game as much as you, and you're not in danger of being ousted from your lofty perch by me.
  • I'm so sorry Ma. I finally figured out what that red bird is for on your level 14. Much higher scores than the one I beat you with will come once I let the cat out of the bag.
Post in the New Forum!
