Begin transmission! Let’s hold hands in celebration, as the Angry Birds Transformers Deceptihogs Revenge update is now available for iOS (v1.3.18)! Android users were lucky and got early access to this update almost a month ago (via Google Play).
To coincide with the update Rovio has also released a brand new retro-style animation that explains the next chapter of the story. Per YouTube:

Let’s jump into what this update includes:
- EGGBOT ACTIVITY DETECTED in Cobalt Valley. Detecting a spacetime distortion effect. Proceed with caution!
- SKYWARP RECRUITED for Piggy Island destruction missions.
- EGGBOT MALFUNCTION – Eggbots now creating Golden Egg Domes. Engage in these missions for massive rewards!
@josm breaks down things a bit more in his comment here and there is lots of talk in the Transformers forum.
Below is some extremely helpful information that was provided by @mighty-red-1 in his topic here (great discussion going on there).
- 5 new characters: Thundercracker, Jazz, Brawl, Grey Slam Grimlock and Dark Megatron
- New characters automatically mean new areas, one of which is Pig City that contains 4 level areas, so that’s a total of 8 more level areas which means even more coins to collect
- A leaderboard that shows the total pigs you and your friends have popped
- New achievements, which means more ways to earn gems
- The recently mentioned Pig City is a whole new environment that has its own soundtrack and some new mechanics
- Character customization – you can buy stuff for your character that will make him look cool or, presumably, make his battles easier (I don’t know much about this feature because the items cost gems). Some items are actually from the Transformers series and movie, e.g. the Autobot Matrix of Leadership for Optimus Prime, Lazerbeak for Soundwave or a crown for Energon Starscream. Each character gets a Christmas hat for free
- The characters now form squads that offer bonus coins when the squads are complete. There is a total of 8 squads to complete, the squads are made of from 2 to 4 characters. I personally have already unlocked the new characters so now I have all 25 characters and my coin bonus is 40%, so I guess it’s 5% from each squad
- When looking at squads, you can click on a character to see his description
- Better performance
- The characters’ stats have been adjusted
- There is a Quests feature in Teletraan 1, but I have no idea what it’s supposed to do because it currently says “No quests” (probably because I downloaded the update quite early)
- Your ‘thank you’ or ‘thanks for nothing’ moments from the last battle are now photographed and you can choose to share those photos via Facebook
- Energon characters are able to regenerate their health in a battle by collecting energon cubes
- A new soundtrack for the previously introduced forest environment
- According to @gulgor0, “fireballs shot from Mortar Towers now have an even lower splash radius, now even standing one meter from them doesn’t hurt you;”
- Some characters have new firepower, e.g. Bumblebee now shoots his rockets in bursts.
Note: if you experience any gameplay crashes that are outside the norm head on over the forum. You may not always find a solution, but it’s helpful to keep track of those having problems.
Due to the holidays Apple currently isn’t releasing updates, so I imagine this won’t land on iOS until at least the week after Christmas. Doh!

This update really excites me. I am hooked on AB Transformers and it is one of the games played each day. The “Coming Soon” areas ought to be “unclouded” and maybe the remaining 5 characters that are blacked out will be made available.
Also one of the Achievements does not work, specifically Roll Out with 5,000 miles (3 stars). Rovio has acknowledged a problem with this one.
I hope they start to release the remaining telepods in the US soon. On Ebay the Bumblebee Blast has been released in Taiwan and Australia but the prices are 2-4 times the projected prince in the US of $19.99. It seems the retail box store have lost interest in selling the telepods. Toys R Us appears to carry the Transformers telepods but have not started to sell the remaining Transformers.
All these updates are making me crazy!! I don’t know how to do and find time to finish them all!!! Ahhhhhhh
Hmm, the area looks a lot like a fortress. Maybe this is the transformirized version of King Pig’s Castle?
@xano2323 on the map, the area that you play on isn’t near King Pig’s castle, so that rules out that one
but one thing that helps me guess what areas will come in future updates (such as King Pig’s castle, South Beach, or the giant snow mountain) is that the Angry Birds Transformers map is actually just a Angry Birds Epic map rotated (and lacking detail- no offense Rovio)

Base in rovio.com, I hear about this Angry Birds Transformers update coming soon, there are new locations and new birds and pigs (but still, I guess there’s no Arcee). But for fans of Angry Birds Transformers, I think that this update will be coming fast

Most of the things you want to know came in the update a few weeks ago but ok ;)
The buttons on the left are a leaderboard button (to see the score in pigs compared with fb friends) and a screenshots button ( where 3 screenshots are stored from your last game, you can share them on fb like in abgo). The button at the right bottom is to skywarp a level, you just can skip it for gems, and you get some gold for it.
Prices of upgrades didnt changed, at least not many that i noticed it.
There are 5 new characters that were not available before:
Thundercracker
Jazz
Brawl
grey Slam grimlock
And dark megatron
the prices in pigs for the first characters are 900 and 1000, i dont remeber which of 4 was which price but 900 or 10000.
dark megatron is 3000 pigs, since that one unlocks at rank150 and the other 4 even lower than the maximum was in previous updates. Maybe rank 90 or 100 or so.
Golden egg domes are leves that will give you a lot more levels than normal, like 10.000, without doubling. One level appears randomly once in 3 or more days or so. They cost 10 gems to unlock.
The decorations are just decoration i guess, i dont think they give special powers or so. Dont know for sure as some cost a lot of gems.
Also the total new level with new music from the picture in your post came with this update.

See the last photo, i really dont know how i got this but i clicked a normal level, played it and didnt get a buddy but this eggbot, he is doing nothing but just running. Also at the end the astrotrain does not picked him up. Weird
found it out @birdleader when you intercept a level with a few gems, you get this eggbot walking in front of you. In this level i didnt get a buddy, but i intercepted another level and i got a buddy there + an eggbot.
@josm and @birdleader weren’t all of those “new” characters already in the game before the update (excluding Grey Slam Grimlock)?
@rowdypup no, all those 5 are new. some of them may be realeased in the soft launch, but they ere not included in the official release
@birdleader Did you know you can
get Brawl, Thundercracker, and Dark Megatron as a buddy in version 1.1.18? The only one you can’t get as a buddy is Gray Slim Grimlock because he didn’t exsist before this new update. But don’t you think that it’s sorta weird that you can get non-released characters as a buddy? Please answer me Bird Leader.
The bright looking version of Megatron you might see as a buddy is Dark Megatron. If you ask me, Ultimate Megatron should be who Dark Megatron is, and Dark Megatron should just be the Ultimate Megatron, because, get it? Ultimate Megatron is DARK!

The weird thing is that a lot of changes android got a few weeks ago, maybe a moth ago, iOS still didnt get those. The last update was October 29 :O . Very weird.

ArcageGo is a Youtuber with about 600K subscribers. He has a gameplay walkthrough videos about the 5 new characters, which he already played before. I think that he played these characters before this Deceptihog Revenge. At the last version, Thundercracker and Jazz has been unlocked ago. But it’s pretty good. The map really rocks.
I’m sitting on a pile of 10,000 pigs waiting for the iOS version to post.
Anybody knows if the 4 achievement bugs have been fixed?

So, so far everything AB Transformers related has been released on Android first, rather than iOS… is this some kind of pun? Because the Autobirds and Deceptihogs could be considered androids? :)
Seriously, though, this update looks…complex. But then, I thought the same thing about both Epic and Transformers before both of them were released. I guess I’ll have to wait and see it when it’s released for iOS.
The graphics while playing Angry Birds Transformers on my Android 4.4.2 KitKat device are not well defined .The edges of 3d content such as the trees ,the ship of transformers , the transforming characters ,etc.are not clear but blur Why is it happening ? though the game runs smoothly while playing :( Please help…I am a great fan of Angry Birds an Their Games a will be forever….:)

This update is really extraordinary. It is like night and day compared in before.
I have however some questions, in particular concerning the achievements GC:
– Squad of fight : Complete 2 squads.
Before the update, I already possessed 20 characters and thus I had already more than 2 completed squads. It not me there stayed that 2 to make with 5 new characters, but in even by freeing them, the achievement did not free.
– Don’t thank from Deceptihogs : Don’t thank twice from Deceptihog events.
The success IG freed correctly, not the GC.
– Time Rift : Slow and Fast : 200 damages in slow/fast action.
How to realize this actions ? I saw for the moment no passage where I am slow or fast.
And otherwise concerning the successes IG, always stays a problem for the following ones:
– Roll Out : Any star, I stay in 0.
– Slow motion = Cool : Finish but empty progress bar
– Defending like Defensor : Finish but empty progress bar
– Not junk yet : Finish but empty progress bar
– Should’ve kept the instructions : Finish but empty progress bar

After some test, I can assert that it is about the same problem as AB SW II.
The problem being that if a new set up achievement asks for an action( that we have already realized before the update (AB SW II: 10.000 launched attacks / ABT: 2 constitued squads), the achievement jams.
How may I assert it ?
ABT has not a cloud, I thus began again a quite new party on my IPad, but with the same GC as on my IPhone.
And after 1 constituted squad, the success freed.
On the other hand the success “Don’t thank from Deceptihogs”, nothing to make, I do not obtain it. It is the only one who misses me to this day.
When in the successes IG, with the new party, any problem, no blocking and bars work.
On my real party, always had bugs.
And any answer from Rovio yet.
Much bigger coin counts in all areas, including Jenga. The upgraded Energon cubes are much richer too. Lots to take in and figure out how to maximize gameplay value. No more clicking on the video doubler buttons only to be rejected, one of many smaller improvements.
I have a question to the iOS players: did you find any negative things in this update? (e.g. you have to pay more coins for an upgrade than before etc.) Or did you find any bugs? I will only update if some people can confirm that there are no bugs and no negative things.
Same. In particular, if anyone loses their progress after updating. Apparently that happened to some of the Android users when they got their update in December.
While you get tons more coins in all areas of the game, it looks like there’s a lot fewer crystals left on the beach. Also, I haven’t had any more doubler or buddy powerup video options since I played yesterday morning.

It really ticks me off that I have to wait sooo long before I finally get the final five characters for Angry Birds Transformers , that Arcee was falsely advertised and calling the bad piggies Deceptihogs instead of something more easy on the tong like Deceptipigs. Why Deceptipigs? Because Deceptihogs sounds more like Decep Dogs, that’s why.

After updating the iOS version, I can’t play the game since the loading screen keeps stucking at 57%. Does anyone has this problem as well?
