Our strategy for Angry Birds Star Wars Hoth level 3-9 is to realize that friction is very low on ice. Simple, right! Loft Luke toward the TNT on the far side of the level, using the lightsaber to roll it down the icy path into the contraption below. Then “shoot the moon” with Han, firing him nearly straight up so he falls between the first two towers. Use the blaster to bring both towers down.

New Event – Nightbird
Here is a different strategy. Send Luke to the big stone square at the bottom of the leftmost structure and use the light saber. Sometimes the trooper inside gets killed, but it is not necessary. Then send Han to the far right structure so it goes through the wood and drops the TNT. While Han is on the way, shoot his blaster at the wooden blocks of the left structure. For this method to work, nothing should fall next to the lowest trooper’s vehicle from the left. If it does and he gets blocked, the TNT won’t kill him. I used this strategy to 3-star this level before I saw the walkthrough video. I am not sure which way is easier, both have their challenges.
This worked SOO much better than the video. I tried forever to get Han to land in the area it mentioned. This way you just shoot and it works. Much simpler. Thanks!
This is basically the way I did it instead of the video. I try to do it on my own and then come on ABnest
to see how they did it. Two birder for 3star.
similar but slight difference on 1st bird: send Luke to base of left triangle on roof of 1st structure, use light saber, destroys trooper inside AND debris falls right to destroy middle. next bird in low arc, fire into wood to droo tnt. 80k
I found the 2 shots to be much easier to execute than the shots in the video with better results. I had been stuck in the high 70’s and this put me into the 80’s.
One curious thing I noticed was the destruction of the pig trooper on the speeder. Using the video method, Luke cuts through the block to drop the TNT and it ALWAYS takes out the trooper. The second method with Han dropping the TNT, the destruction of the trooper on the speeder only happens some of the time from the TNT. Just something to be aware of to have the troooper destroyed by other debris and Han.
The destruction of the structures above and in front of the speeder causes it to move from the optimum kill zone of the TNT. As you mentioned the only guaranteed kill of the speeder is to use Luke on the TNT structure.
I also had the same conclusions with my shots. And like @ohforfive mentions, it guarantees wiping out the pig on the speeder, unlike the video’s which does not happen often.
This method has produced much better results for me. I’ve been stuck below average for the last day and a half before trying this.
The destruction of the pig on the speeder depends on where her lands after the tower on the left is destroyed – the TNT doesn’t kill him, it’s the blast that pushes the speeder upwards and he “pops” on the ground above him.
I found this the easier way, though I aimed Luke a bit lower through the small upright piece of metal & activated immediately on impact. When the middle clears out hopefully the debris especially the glass roofs slide left & leave the diagonal wood clear.
Sent Han towards the diagonal wood, firing at wooden blocks of the last tower. Han goes through the diagonal to help ensure the speeder trooper is taken out via the TNT, debris or Han himself. Also if you hold off on firing into the wooden block until your shots go in horizontally a couple of them will ricochet straight back left & do a bit more damage – it’s not a lot but every little point helps.
When I got my current 86k some of the 1st structure slid left off the platform for more points but I haven’t found a way to make this happen consistently.
Thanks @karen68 your aiming tips helped me gain 3k! I’ll happily take it and run! :) Super score you got!
After many, many, many fruitless flinging attempts, I managed 86070 on my Android phone when revisiting this level with upgraded green saber.
I definitely aimed a little lower than @mars805, but I’m not sure if I aimed to same spot as @karen68. Here’s a pic of 1st shot for 39,350: http://angrybir.de/18NNNj6.
I aligned the dotted line thru the left corner/joint of the vertical metal pieces with the dotted line continuing just under the left eye of the Storm Trooper hiding in structure & activated ~green~ saber just in time to nick the vertical metal piece (this is as Luke is approaching, not after reaching structure), so that the continuing momentum has Luke crash into Storm Trooper causing lots of collapse…eventually. The metal pieces will fall slowly, at least they did for me. The points total will vary, a dozen or so shots earlier I’d gotten 41870 with my 1st shot & flubbed the 2nd : – (. I considered myself successful with at least 38k, otherwise I restarted…but I already had an above average score of 82630…I was just working on a better score.
Because the 1st shot took out the middle “tower,” I didn’t need a medium-high arc to the right side, so the 2nd shot was a fairly low arc, shot as karen68 described. Previously I’d tried a higher arc, but flubbed when trying to fire horizontally to left wooden corner of the right structure.
Congrats! @justpast40!! guess i,ve got some revisiting to do now!
Thank you so much!!!
Worked for me! the way in the video is WAY too hard. got 81k and a step toward three-starring Hoth!
May The Force be with you!
This gives me the most destruction of all the methods so far. The entire left and middle destroyed with first bird. That said – NEVER killed the storm trooper underneath with TNT. Ever. I’ll keep trying a while because I’m so happy after bird 1 but if bird 2 doesn’t do it’s job there’s no hope of getting that guy in the cave!
I aimed Luke on to first structure and used light saber at the top. Structure fall to right and almost everything slide down. then send Han to the far right structure aiming laser to wooden box which fall to TNT and kill botom pig if it wasn’t previously killed. Score is slightly above temporary average and always above 80k.
Two another ways. Low score but 3*:
1. High lob Luke and sabred left tower right wall.
2. Flat arc Luke. Aim higher triangle of the tower.
2nd shot for both ways. Aim HS at wood bridge betwen hanging rocks. He will crash it. Shoot as always – at TNT.
86530/2 with that for the daily challenge. what i was doing
1st) high arc just over top of first tower. the goal is to damage the big wooden block (in the base) of that tower (at least; also the small one may be damaged) and to make the middle tower collapse onto itself. to that end, i activate when a bit above those blocks. excellent scores are 32k without getting the left tower and 40k with it (both scores happened only twice to me thus far; still good and more frequent are 30k and 37k respectively).
2nd) depends on whether the left tower did fall down or not. if it did, use the flat arc described above (also in other comments). if it didn’t then use a medium arc to the same diagonal pieces of wood, activating the gun late such that the first rebounds (above the wooden block in the right tower) and takes out (the wooden blocks of) the left tower making it collapse, and the 2nd and 3rd take out the wooden blocks in the right tower itself making that collapse. to that end, i tap to the right of the right tower, at the moment he passes one level up from the latter blocks (may take a few tries to adjust, but this shot is not difficult; i get it say 3 out of 4 times).
80k-83k scores easily (1 in 5) repeatable with this. 84k+ less frequent, say 1 in 25. based on play, i’m sure up to 88k should be doable (but probably hard) with it, but above that i do not know.
btw, i’ve only recently started playing absw and wondered whether there’s a way (on ipad) to disable power ups (as in abo) so that they do not show on screen? as it is, they show at the top of my screen and i do not use them (in the sense that the numbers shown have never decreased) but their presence does make taking aim easier in many cases (e.g. for the 1st shot here), so i also wondered whether that (using the power-up icons just as markers) already counts as ‘using power-ups’ (or if it doesn’t, whether it is still frowned upon).
as the strategy described didn’t get the left-hand side of the left tower, wasting damage points, switched to the strategy of mars805. was playing for 40k+ (have had 42k) after the 1st, which is repeatable (every few minutes) by sending it to a tiny bit above the left corner of the triangular stone activating upon or just after impact, so that the (preferably already damaged) left-hand side of the tower rolls to the left on top of the storm trooper (and then slides down; cf. karen68’s comment) while the middle tower is collapsing. got my current best of 88240 using the medium arc 2nd as described in my previous comment.
83590/2
many thx to @bird-tester for the strat.
here my video:
https://youtu.be/RGJOtFO7p_4
By almost classic way – 79.890 = 3 stars! Luke smashed 2 wood blocks near TNT AND bridge with one cut. HS shots not ideal but ok. Another I’ll seat at 78K area (near film way).
84860 – Like the video, only I fired Solo a tad bit earlier, and at eh same spot to cause the ricochet effect.
I have tried this method and succeeded over and over, yet it will only give me 2 stars. What am I doing wrong?
Probably just need a few more points from destruction of debris.
I’ve found that higher scores are achievable if you launch Luke so that he takes out both the base of the right structure and the slanted plank to the left. After that you should only have the trooper in the left enclosure, so launch Hans in a normal arc and as he passes to the right of it, fire his blaster at the right lower wooden section.
@werewolf69 – this is exactly how I did it too! My very first try on this level I sent Luke over to land near the left bottom side of the wood box, close enough to the slanted plank so that his saber can slice through both the wood box and the slanted wood. This caused Luke to bounce back left and between him and the falling metal, they pushed both of the center strucures down killing all of the pigs but the left one in the enclosure. I then had a great shot to send Han over the left structure and fired his blasters back into the exposed wood block. This also allows for you to try and get some of the left cement to be pushed of the the left edge.
On anoter attempt the taller, left most central stucture remained so when that happens, I sent Han in between the left structure and the central one, as in the video but I wait for Han to go all the way to the bottom and fire back at the wood instead of blasting into the metal side first like on the video. If you just hit the wood, this ensures the whole thing will tumble down.
@lesleyg, you and I must be kindred spirits, we seem to have a lot in common insofar as forming strategies. Keep up the good work and Happy Hunting.
Thank you @werewolf69 ;-) Ah yes indeed…kindred spirits!!! That must be it…we do seem to attack alot of the levels with the same ideas!

Aim Luke at top left of first structure, in the tiny gap between the small block and the triangle. Use light saber just after impact.
Aim Han high so when he falls he goes through the slanted wood and hits the speeder trooper and for blaster off throught the wood on the end tower to destroy the rest.
84870 like this but i think there’s more if I can get the laser to bounce back up into the TNT tower
I think the easiest way is as said – to use luke + lightsaber at the top of the first structure.
However, Luke can do most damage by sending him up and over to hit the wood on the far structure. If you *dont* use his lightsaber, he’ll almost always take out the wood, the structure will fall and will then slide down the ramp to take out more of the other structures. Not sure if this can result in a 1-bird clearout.
Ahh, sorry, using Luke on the top of the left-building is probably still best.
Its also best to use his light-saber against the right-most building, but I prefer to try to leave the ramp intact to enourage the slide.
84000 w/2 Birds.
First Bird – I aim Luke on metal cube, on the left side of First structure.
Activate his Lightsabre, Before Impact. If you did it right, some metal blocks from left side of structure should go downwards left side & damaged. Some metal blocks will fall on TNT & detonate it. All pigs should pop, except one Pig in the cave.
Scores should be around 37-38k.
Second Bird – Aim Han on wooden ladder like blocks.
Tap his blasters on the Big wooden block, fall the TNT & detonate it. Kills the last pig.
81060: I kept trying the way shown in the video, but couldn’t get the ricochet right to get through all the wood blocks of the left tower. Finally tried the same as video, but just shot straight at the wood blocks as Han fell, rather than trying the fancy ricochet. Worked like a charm, much easier shot.
I had 3-star success with the first alternate method mentioned, breaking the first grey block with Luke then taking out the rightmost tower and left tower wood blocks with Han.
