Billiards, anyone? One strategy for Utopia level 4-2 is to approach the level like a real game of pool (or bowling, for that matter) and aim for the “1-2” gap. That is, aim the Black bird between the left-point and the asteroid just below it. Detonate the bird in the middle of the pile and hope to pop as many piggies in the pockets as possible. The way to earn three stars is to use as few birds as possible.

I got 53890 with two birds. I only had one pig left after first shot, the one in the bottom left hand pocket. A one birdie definately possible here. I had best results by shortening the trajectory so that you don’t use full strength and aim him like @amslimfordy describes, between the left most stone and the one one under it…if you don’t use full speed he goes in the center of the stones nicely. I also had good results with a shortened trajectory but bouncing him off the top right “chocolate” bank…about the top right middle one.
I just improved my score with one bird by not using full power and shortening the tracetory, like I previously mentioned above. I had the tracetory dots stop at the middle of the first Top bumper. This causes bomb bird to bump off and land nicely in the center of the stones and they all found a home in the pockets ;-)…I must have played this level a gazzillion times before they all decided to cooperate ;-)
I used the same strategy as this and eventually it worked out in my favor. Since there are so many variables once you detonate the black bird it demands a lot of patience. I shot at the same bumper as you, only I used the full power. I guess I detonated at the right time and it got every single pig with a score of 62700.
Got 55170 with two birds. First between first and second stone killed 5 pigs. Second on the last pig. But think one birder possible
Alternate strategy:
1. See the bottom pig? Aim at the near right end of the first “bounce” block beside that pig. Causes it to bounce the bird behind the stone triangle, and into it from the back. Explode manually when the black bird enters the approximate center of the pack. Stones would be normally blasted in all directions, and if not at least most.
This is technically a one birder strat. Had lots of “close-calls”, and hopefully you could get it right, with some luck tossed in.
Update: just got a one-birder with this strategy :D
Woohoo Kartflyer – also got a one-birder with this strategy!! Had been trying it for a while but gave up. When I saw you had done, made me go back and keep trying – many thanks!
After countless frustration, I got the 1-birder for 62810. Thanks, Kartflyer!
@kartflyer – thanks – tried your strat and had a lot of patience – finally paid off with 63920.
Now how come you beat me for Top Score when we have the same?
I think it’s random @fillmore1234. That, or most recent. But good shooting ;-) and thanks to Kart.
We still haven’t implemented “tie” coding yet.
Screenshot in case anyone wants proof.

I had trouble with the south corner so I tried the north and in 6 shots I had the one birder! Thanks for the directions, I had tried the bounce but hadn’t quite gotten it.
Before i read your post I was actually working with a @Laurence type move of going slowly into the gap between 2 & 4, I’d had one pig left a couple of times and I think it was just a matter of time before I got the one birder.
Wow, good job fislady on the top score! I knew the top score me and PlayDBird had wouldn’t last.
I was hoping it would.. ;)
Well I didn’t keep it long, LOL. I was playing around with the ME on this one (& a few others) and wouldn’t you know it? THIS is the first feather I get! Figures, top score first feather. : )
Looks like you have set the stage for competition on a one-bird fling! Great score @kartflyer! Thanks for sharing the strat. I only hope I can catch up. :-)
Thanks @kartflyer.
By the way, I aimed for the directional dots to go trough the bubbled pig in southeast pocket. Between the bubbles’ southwest edge and the pigs’ lowest ear.
62k with @kartflyer strat. 64k with the ‘north’ strat.
Destroy 1 boulder in blast = 62k range.
Destroy 2 boulders in blast = 64k range.
Destroy 3 boulders in blast => sofar a 2birder for 55.500
I followed Zozo’s tip of aiming between the gap between the pigs ear and the edge of the bubble in the south pocket, took forever but finally got the one birder with my third shot this morning. Fun level but took thousands of tries with all strategies before I got it. thanks Zozo
You’re welcome @rexter
Every try the odds are different, angle on wall, angle of impact on rotating boulder, moment of explosion.
Sadly enough skill itself has just a small impact on this one.
Bounced first bird on block between middle bottom pig and right bottom pig-on first third of bumper from middle pig. Finally got a 62520 one-birder
Forgot to add-let the bird explode on its own when it enters the asteroid pack for max effect!
I used @Kartflyer‘s strategy and got 63920!
I finally got this 1-bird, extremely frustrating!!!! I have been using everyone tips and strats, @kartflyer yours finally did the trick, thanks! :D
Thanks @lesleyg for all of your help and support!! ;)
@mufc thanks for your video, great job, and nice score!!! I love your graphics and closing card!!! Have you post other videos? :)
@sunshine – You’re so welcome! I’m glad I helped you ;-)
btw…I LOVE your new Avatar:-))) Very nice!!!
You always manage to bring a much needed :-) to my me!!!
I did it with your strategy! Thanks :-) I get so excited when I get a 1 bird
Thanks @kartflyer ~ after many many tries finally got the 1-birder.
I have been aiming at the 2-3 gap on the lower side rather than the 1-2. I get five of the six pigs more often that way. No rhyme or reason as to which one survives though. Need to give Kartflyer’s strat a try though.
Oh yeah, watch out for debris blockage in the slingshot on that second shot.
a 1 birder is deffo possible as i just did it lol
followed karts alt startegy and bingo

Great fling! I’m using your image as a template – trying to get the one birder but it is very hard to do.
awww @kinkykiwi not sure your around anymore but i can’t view your screenshot,, i even signed in to image scack but it wants money lol!
i was hoping to use it as a template as @gyspybird
i had millions of close calls :’-( most frustrating level ever :-(
So apparently I have the topscore right now on this level. Cool! But I have no idea how to put up a screenshot of the level. Can someone help?
@fillmore1234, you’ll need to post the screenshot you took on an image site such as photobucket or flickr or other site of your preference. Then you can post the URL for the screenshot on Angry Birds Nest. Hope that helped. :-)
BTW! Congrats on your score!
Thanks GypsyBird! I’ll try it now and see what happens.
I sure hope this works.

YAY it did! And thanks GypsyBird for the help! :)
Yay! Eureka! I got it! Thanks to the strategy sharing inspiration from @kartflyer and @kinkykiwi! Kinkykiwi, the image you shared helped so much!
It drove me bonkers trying to one-bird this. Finally did though using aforementioned strats
A1birder. Going for the direct approach, sneaking between the first 2 rocks and snuggle into the middle before exploding.
Ok, i finally updated ABSp (after going to Minecraft rehab), to find out i really stink at Angry Billiards!
There is such a lot of luck needed with this level. Have spent several hours trying to get above average in the typical Angry Birds insanity way – fling-fail-reset-repeat – I think I will move on and return later. Did get my best score using @kartflyer strategy, so thank you for that. Despite my frustration, I’m loving Utopia!
Wow … this was really hard!
62960 – I was stuck on one of those 52K’s. Came back top re-visit it this evening, and finally got the one bird clear using the bottom rail bank shot.
I know the score can go higher, but I think I don’t ever want to see this one again!
Another 1birder strategy. I aimed a bird to the left side of jelly bar between sling and south pocket. A bird bounced to a jelly bar located right side of nord pocket, then arrived to the middle of stones triangle. I let it explode by his own and finally got the win.
I dont like levels like this. It takes lots of time, 1% of brains and 99% of luck…
i agree @stasbalabas this level is very frustrating ..pure luck which I haven’t got any of at the moment:(
thanks for tips;)
Very good walkthrough!!Thank you so much !!! :)
I need help… This level makes me dislike Utopia!!! I know this shouldn’t be as frustrating as it is, this totally depresses me. I have tried @lesleyg and @kartflyer his helped improve my score, as well as almost getting that 1-bird, so close, but not close enough. Help, please! :(
@sunshine, I know just how you feel. I hate to leave a level below average but I played this one on & off for days & never got that 1- bird clear so I shut the door on it & haven’t been back for months. I just couldn’t seem to get enough movement to take out that last pig. Kartflyer’s approach got me the closest, but it was never quite enough. I suppose I’ll go back to it one day when I’m in the mood to indulge my masochistic tendencies. Good luck!
@karen68 thanks for checking on me, you’re a good friend!! :) I must be in one of those moods, I’m working on this and 4-3. I’m a bit crazy! Lol ;)
@sunshine, I’m sorry you’re having troubles ;-( I came here to see if I could help out with your cry for help…but once I saw which level it was…I’m afraid I can’t help much except to cheer you on! I hated this level and it took me forever to get the one birdie. I know you’ve already tried my strat above which worked best for me, however when I tried a few times just now it seems kart’s is a little more reliable although in a few tries I have had one pig remain but it seems if you repeat it enough you will have your best chances. If you aim at the right side of that bumper like he says but also line up the end of the dots to go through the right most bottom pig’s bubble and pigs lower ear as z0z0 mentioned above hopefully you will get it! Good Luck my dear and try and stay sain in the process ;-)
@sunshine, OMG!!! Don’t hate me but I just tried it again…and I got the one birdie only on my fourth attempt since I came here to see if I could help and improved my score slightly from 62640 to 62690, lol!!! I did it with the description I just wrote to you ;-) What are the chances, lol…sorry ;-)
@lesleyg congrats!! WTG girl!! Cheers!! :D I’ll keep at it! Just found out I’m going to be in your neck of the woods in November!!! ;)
@sunshine, Thanks and really??? Does that mean you’re finally coming to “pick me up”??? lol ;-) But seriously would love to meet up with you ;-) Wouldn’t that be so cool!!!
@leseyg really!!! You no longer need to wait on the curb!! Lol let’s make plans. :)
@sunshine, Definately!!! You can send me a PM or email with details of when you’ll be here ;-), Yay…How Exciting!!! ;-)))))))
I was once a state 8-ball champ in 8-ball, so you’d think I could get a high score here. Wrong! :) In this strategy, The first/leftmost boulder in the triangle is #1. Boulders #2 and #3 are at 2:00 and 4:00 from that one, respectively.
This is a standard pool break shot: Fire Bomb into the gap between Boulders #1 and #3. You want to miss #1 as closely as possible, and hit hit #3 on the left side. Bomb should ricochet into the center of the triangle. I detonate about a half second after impact. With the right timing, the detonation will break one of the inner boulders about 75% of the time. For great scores, more than one boulder needs to break, but I’ve never been able to do this reliably, with any shot.
When using this shot, the best results come when Boulder #1 is motionless or rotating counter-clockwise, and Boulder #3 is rotating clockwise. This acts like a baseball pitching machine, and helps redirect Bomb into the center of the triangle. You can still get in when the rotation is against you, but it throws you off just enough to ruin some of the trajectories, and reduces the likelihood your detonation will break any boulders.
Another good shot to try is bouncing off the top rail, and hitting the rear of the triangle. You want bomb to impact in the gap between the two center boulders. Let Bomb roll into the center of the triangle and detonate manually.
@kelani as a pool player myself i feel your distress..I tried approaching as any one would break but just endend up with clump of boulders at the right end of the table.
My question is did you bank the first shot as the video ? Your post isa bit confusing as to what you actually ended up doing?
@Kathy Sorry, I wrote that strategy when I was severely speed deprived. I just edited it for you, so it should make sense now. :) That is the strategy I used the most, but I spent a lot of time trying three different shots.
Shot 1: Bank off the top rail and have Bomb hit the back of the triangle. There’s 4 boulders on the back row, Bomb should hit dead center, manually detonate. There’s a timing sweet spot that will break two or three boulders.
Shot 2: Your typical pool break shot. Fire to the space between the first boulder and the one to the right of it. Bomb skips between those two boulders, detonate manually and quickly after impact (like 1/2 second or less) There’s a timing sweet spot here also that can break 2 boulders.
Shot 3 was like the video, but bank off the bottom rail, instead of the top one. I didn’t get many broken boulders with this one, though.
#1 and #2 got slightly better scores than #3, but I don’t think any of them has any real advantage over the other. I did each one hundreds of times, and got the same randomly crazy results.
Thanks @kelani I finally got a one birdie but not a great score, I’ll keep trying. I Cannot get any boulders to break though:(
New top score proof:
https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/members/sglouk/album/picture/23110/
Too bad it was not on my main savegame, but I’ll take it. I succeeded in getting all six pigs while destroying two rocks on BB explosion.
Great score @Sglouk do you have any idea which shot you used?
just wondering, trying to get my score back..
