Top score for the moment. I had a couple of one birders, but the higher score was just 99k. My first shot is a bit higher than the one in the walk through, exploding BB before it hits the pile. And on my second shot, I try to hit the “egg” (is there an accepted name for that yet?) to the right of center, which causes the smaller, leftmost boulder to fall and crush the antenna, and LB will often ricochet and kill the pig in the bubble (and if it doesn’t, the debris from the explosion usually will). My high score came when, after first knocking the boulder down, the jet tank came down to the surface and almost completely destroyed the two metal boxes. It was fun to watch, and there were a surprising number of points. I think that my score after the first bird was about 52k, and there were still three pigs and the tower left. I’ve had to switch to using my Android phone because Rovio stopped doing updates for my Mac, and I haven’t figured out how to take screen shots yet, but I will try if requested by @birdleader or @amslimfordy.

I had almost the exact same experience as you @snoid. The rocket took out the metal boxes and the second bird wiped out almost everything else, very little debris left. It would really have to be an amazing shot for a one-birder to topple @snoid‘s top score.

@abeggertoo Since I think it was the rocket that caused the one-birder, I guess that it would be hard to combine the two, but still I wouldn’t be surprised if someone does.

WTG Ma. I agree. Those one-birders just don’t produce points like two skill shots. My one-birder was barely 108k.

@justpast40 the video shows first bomb under the planet exploding underneath the upside down triangle of small stones/wood. Lazer bird up (about 1:30) past the planet then redirect down to hit the egg floating furthest from the top planet. It’s been 18 months since I posted, so I am just describing the video above. The alterations suggested by snoid are a variation on this description of the video.

@justpast40 I think @abeggertoo laid out the basic strategy, and I can’t really think of anything to add to my very slight variation. The one to follow is campeast, who has the high score with a one-birder. I’m not really sure how he or some others did that, though I said in my comments that I had a couple, but with lower scores. Rat agreed that he did better with two shots, but again I’m not clear on just what he did differently.

@kathy is it possible that since @campeast only joined and started posting on ABN yesterday and has 4 #1 scores out of 14 and has no other scores posted, that they might be unaware that power-ups cannot be used on the leaderboards? Not sour grapes. I’d love to hear from him/her and see what strategy was used or at least a response to requests for same. I just seems unusual @admins.

I disagree. There are repeatable one-bird solutions to a lot of these levels. They’re small and hard to find, even harder to hit, but even Saturn, with it’s ice fields, has method to it’s madness.

I’ve had one bird solutions to all except 10-6 & 10-10. I mostly agree with @rat9‘s comment. The point I was trying to make: it’s mostly through the persistent application of strategies widely disseminated on this site & presumably routinely copied by most, do you occasionally end up with high scores. Almost never are they routinely repeatable.

My previous post was intended as a response to the exceptionally skilled rodent’s comment that started with “I disagree.” Scoring well in Solar System, at least for me, seems more about endurance than skillful application of a solid strategy.

Rank: Avian Overlord with 16885 points
By Rat (@rat9)Score: 112,020

I respect your opinion @campeast, but once again, I must disagree. These levels require extensive management of power levels(a lot of flingers ignore this one), angles, and activation times. But once you master and apply them to a viable strategy, they are repeatable without the endurance factor. With the exception of the 3rd of July when I played for about five hours, I haven’t flung more than one or two hours a day (maybe three hours once). I only fling when I go outside to smoke and it’s been too hot and humid to stay long. And two days I didn’t fling at all. Assuming 2 hours each day times 9 days equals 18 hours. Add the first day to that and I’ve flung about 24 hours in Solar System. It might just be me, but I don’t think that’s an excessive amount of time to spend on an update. I like Space because most levels have solutions. I hate rinse and repeats because they do require endurance.

Sorry @campeast. I meant to thank you for the Rodent compliment. And just so the other flingers know, you’re the reason my score is so high. Every morning I’d see you had gained an additional 20k and were nipping at my furry feet. But I’m done for the moment. I never did find the sweet spot on level 5. Maybe you’re right. That one is a rinse and repeat. ha ha ha

Perhaps we simply disagree on what endurance implies. You have a solid strategy and great score on 10-11. Try repeating that strategy 10 or 20 times. What does the distribution of scores look like?

Space Eagle walkthrough, with 1 sardine can — Solar System level 10-5 (Mars)
https://youtu.be/uqfQERDyjhA

Send the first (bomb) bird to explode in the closest base of the pyramid of square blocks, flinging these blocks towards the gas bottle (it helps if the bottle pushes the large asteroid in front of it to fall into the icy rock in the planet, to maximize points). Now, send a sardine can in a similar trajectory. It will circle the planet; activate when it is still flying, and above the buildings in the upper portion of the planet. The eagle will reach everything and the full feather will be awarded.
This method proved to be consistent.

Feel free to discuss this level’s feather strategies here!
