Angry Birds Space Red Planet Level 5-30 Walkthrough

Our strategy for Red Planet level 5-30 is to quickly launch Red Bird towards the northern lava asteroid. It should just skim it and push it towards the east side of the rocky planet. The resulting chain reaction should destroy all the pigs.

I threw red right away south to kill the pigs on the vehicle by pushing the fire asteroid. Then bomb north towards the 3 boulders and then the chain reaction reached the far “protected” pig.
Hence 50k bonus.
There must be no geyser when you use bomb (or red for 1st shoot if you wait for a planet tour) or it won’t touch the rocks.

I don’t know – are you supposed to put in what could only be considered a wild miss but did result in a sort of respectable score?
Tried a shot like @yoruishi suggested, missed wildly, the red bird went straight through the cart killing all the pigs then whipped around and smacked right into the bubble pig dead-on. 86,930 points.

I’m glad to hear that because that is what I’m doing and redoing and redoing with that right pig without so much as a scratch. I can’t get anything near it with the volcano activity and the heavy gravity of the center sphere.

Now, back to my oar.

I’ve gotten pretty consistent with a 3 bird clear that gets a varying score between the high 80’s and the low 90’s, it’s pretty unpredictable. Bird 1 aim south just catching the edge of the gravity field. Wait for the cart to be in the 9 o’clock position before you fire. The bird should move the meteor and land on the card, wiping out all the pigs. Sometimes there is 1 left but it’ll get destroyed during the ride.

Second bird, the black bomb, aim north to just catch the edge of the gravity field. Make sure the volcano isn’t spewing when you fire. You come up behind the boulders and meteor and blast it. You’re looking for movement. If you’re lucky, very lucky, a piece of the meteor will destroy the far right pig in the bubble and maybe a couple other meteors for damage points.

Otherwise, aim the puffer bird south of the sphere and fire when the cart is out of the way. The idea is to do an “S” under the first sphere and over the center sphere, and expand it where it will do some damage. You’ll figure out the exact aiming points and timing when you’ve tried it a couple times.

Two birds:
Red to the lower fire asteroid..this killed the rover pigs.
Bomb to the upper fire asteroid..this caused a chain reaction which killed mustache pig and all the other fire asteroids.
Remaining birds were bonuses.

The benefit of all that engineering experience from Bad Piggies isn’t reflected in the junk yard jalopy driven by the little green dudes in this final level. I know it’s supposed to be some sort of swanky Mars rover, but which swine genius chose the convertible model for their final mission on a planet surface constantly bombarded by fiery lava asteroids and semi-truck-sized boulders? The vehicle itself goes unscathed despite getting plastered with everything the birds can muster. The pigs would have a better chance surviving in a giant blender full of ninjas and hand grenades. Seriously? BLT sandwich and lemonade, anyone? Oh yeah. Three birds max on this one. Make sure you bring down at least one fiery, flying volcano-rock-thing on each fling. Top, bottom and then one of the “smolder boulders” on the right side with the third bird should be enough.

I used one bird on the south asteroid. I waited until the rover reaches 9 o’clock position. Then launch red so it barely scratches the asteroid and continues around the second gravity zone into the fiery asteroids on the right side where the bubble pig sits.

If you must use a second bird try shooting at 11 o’clock position on the first little planetoid where the small boulders are. Ignite immediately when bomb bird reaches the gap in the rocks. I had several +100k that way.

I never found another reasonbale way to use the bomber. I never found out what people meant when they said to shoot 2nd bird to the northern asteroid. Never worked for me.

This is the exact same strategy I had used for 126K. The huge bonus in my score came about because during the chain reaction a piece of the top right fire-asteroid flew left and exploded near the top left fire-asteroid. However it didn’t set it off, it pushed it just BARELY enough so that the entire in-tact fire-asteroid fell onto the left planet on top of the rocks there causing massive destruction. 66K + 6X10K for 126K.

I used basically the same strategy as @happyshake and @goavs4 but….. hitting the fiery asteroids by the bubble pig as @happyshake describes didn’t work very well for me. @goavs4 has a great video and a great score, but repeating what happened (in my opinion) isn’t very likely.

My method is fairly repeatable, but of course not easy.

1. When to fling…. The waiting until the rover reaches 9 o’clock is OK, but exactly where the rover is doesn’t seem to be that critical. Waiting just a little longer (like 8 o’clock) might be better. You would think that destroying all the pigs in the rover with the 7 o’clock fiery asteroid would be a good thing, but that isn’t usually true. Waiting a little longer can be a good thing.
2. After glancing off the 7 o’clock asteroid, you want to hit the 1 o’clock fiery asteroid so that it hits into the big geyser/planet thing as much to the right as possible.
3. If it hits in the correct area, one of the flaming pieces will set off the fiery asteroids by the bubble pig.
4. Maybe 1 out of every 3 times, a flaming piece from one of those by the bubble pig will travel up and hit the small top middle geyser planet thing. It will then bounce into the 3 boulders by the 10 o’clock fiery asteroid.
5. One of the boulders will fall to the little planet with the stones on it (to the left)
6. One of the boulders will hit the 10 o’clock fiery asteroid and (hopefully) push it into the rover. Sometimes it doesn’t quite make it. Here is what the level looks like if it doesn’t quite make it. https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/members/stocktoad/album/picture/12369/ (or just before it hits the rover if it does)
7. The reason I said it is better not to kill all the pigs in the rover right away is that steps 3-6 do take some time to happen and if there are no pigs left in the rover, the level will time out.
8. Good luck. It isn’t really as hard as it sounds, but does take a few repeats.

I think it’s April Fool’s Day not 1/2/15 & that the Angry Birds Space Gods are playing tricks on me. I’ve had countless 1-birders that start off looking like I’ll have the necessary fire asteroid ricochets to improve my meager 105k, but my hopes are quickly dashed as the scores are mostly in the 80s & 90s.

I noticed that @happyshake, @comex666 & @stocktoad all have PC as their listed platform. Although there’s a variety of platforms in the Challenge Top 50, I wonder if perhaps PC has an advantage & Android a disadvantage.

I finally got a good one birdie “chain reaction” ;-) All of the lava-steroids exploded except the two lower east ones. I was using @happyshakes method for a two birdie, but got lucky this time and only had to use the first bird. If you need two bird’s I think that is the way to go with aiming at the stones. I had no luck sending the second bird north.

I had some pretty funny outcomes…red bird ignited lava and landed back on the rover and took a little ride around town before tumbling under it’s wheels, lol. Those piggies are vicious…they just kept crankin’ right along, rolled right over him like he didnt even matter, tee hee!

Much Easier Strategy for 105k+ scores –
First Bird – As others did. Aim Red Bird to the lower fire asteroid. This should kill all the pigs on Rover.

Second Bird – Aim Bomb Bird close to the First planet (not very close, see screenshot below).
It should be about 1/4th of the distance between Small Planet & Gravitational force line. Bomb Bird should go the left side of the top Fire Asteroid. Then manually detonate Bomb Bird.
Fire asteroid should go to right side & then explode. It should start Chain Reaction between fire asteroids.
5 Birds left = 50k bonus

It seems so early on challenge day to hate a level yet here I am. The ridiculous tone-on-tone trajectory “assistance” is a joke. I have an idea…how about a level where everything is just white. Pigs, birds, obstacles, background…everything. Then we can just fling wildly (assuming we can find the white slingshot) until we happen upon destruction. I’ll call it Rovio Hell episode. (I guess it’s up to me to design it. Bonus because I do almost no coding! Maybe they’ll give me an instruction manual where the text is the same color as the pages…

It is not a complete new strat, but an addendum to the existing one-birder described above. As soon as you have fired Red, fire BB almost horizontally, slightly above horizontal (i.e. at 2:55). BB has to land of the upper part of the planet core. Activate soon after impact (timing does not seem crucial) so as to send as many boulder as you can to the right, below the second planet core. This way, you should destroy most of the rocks and ignite the two fiery asteroids that are in the lower right quadrant of the second planet. When done successfully, this gives you between 13k and 15k, i.e., a few k’s above the bonus value of the bird. Just as for the one-birder solution, good score relies on the fact that there is one surviving pigs that dies quite late, at the end of the chain reaction. But in principle, it has a better potential.
