Golden Eggsteroid #9 is located on level 6-24 of Angry Birds Space Pig Dipper. The Golden Eggsteroid is slightly below the normal line of sight between the slingshot and the main target. While there are several birds that can reach it, the Lazer bird is easiest. Once you hit the egg you’ll immediately be transported via a wormhole to the level, which pays homage to the 1980′s arcade game Pac-man. One strategy 3-starring this level is to send the first Terence vertically, following the tomatoes and popping three pigs. Send the next Terence slightly below horizontal to the right, popping the last pig. Before your final score tallies, send one more horizontally leftward, since there are more than five tomatoes at 2000 points each.
If you need help, the video below shows the location of the Golden Eggsteroid a strategy for passing the level with 3 stars.
The same 3 shots as the video but with a lot more crashing into walls along the way.
Oh, I also reversed the last 2 shots, so that i wouldn’t be timed out with points still accumulating.
I got the Eggsteroid by bombing it with the Bomb Bird, works either way though!
same as mine
It’s been at least 30 years since the last time I’d played Pac-Man, but I must say that I was a little disappointed, I half expected to see ghoulish looking pigs trying to eat me. I did it identical to the video, pixel for pixel but my score didn’t quite come out the same. For now, Goodbye Space.
To earn my score, I aimed at the bumper directly to the SE of the launching pad. It struck about 30% down from the top corner of the bumper and it angled back up to the east side of the bumper that it was launched from. It then traveled NE, missing the bumper and heading into the middle section. The resulting fall out, plus one clean up bird earned the score. I scored in the mid 80’s multiple times before getting just the right level of destruction to earn 95520.
@aliudyen , congrats on the high score and thank you for the tip. My earlier efforts stalled at 83,500 points. By experimenting with the SE bumper, much higher scores are possible.
It’s a very hard angle and I’ll probably need to plaster my screen with stickers for aiming points. So far, by aiming directly off the SE bumber into the central structure, with another shot to clean up, I acheived 89k.
Inspired by @aliudyen I started experimenting with various bounces into the central structure. With 3 birds I managed 98K. The first shot was off of the NNE bumper into the center, the second shot was off of the SE bumper into the center, and the third shot was to the left, around the left/top edge to take out the last pig.
Any hope of repeating things exactly is hopeless due to the unpredictable scattering of debris, but aliudyen had the key idea!
@aliudyen @burpie — Got above average following your suggestions, but could use more detailed tips.
Exactly where do you hit the central structure? I found that it was easier to aim the tracer points just inside the lower left edge of the tomato in front of the bumper to the SE of launching pad.
Burpie — What are you calling the NNE bumper? And where in the center do you hit?
Hi @mvnla2 , I drew some caveman lines on a screenprint…
Image
Shot 1 can be fired directly after a reset. I find that getting into the center of the wall maximizes points… about 20k. Other than getting some points, this shot needn’t accomplish anything.
For shot 2, I waited for the pig on the far right to be towards the bottom of its path. If you’re quick, you can fire shots 1 and 2 in rapid succession after a reset. This shot creates a chain reaction of slow motion mayhem. I find hat hitting the central structure close to the corner is best.
Shot 3 and 4 – depending on what’s left, and what you can still reach with all the debris in your way. For my 102k score I used a third shot to get a remaining pig and some more dots. The fourth bird was not used.
As for precise aiming points – I don’t have any yet. I’m still shooting with deliberate variation to see what work best.
@burpie — Thanks! I think your SE bumper is not the same as @aliudyen‘s; at least not my interpretation. May have to try this one some more.
@mvnla2 , my angles are different. I had @aliudyen‘s shot work once (off of 2 bumbers into the center) and it was beautiful, but very hard to reproduce.
With my method I had one other score over 100,000 and many in the 90s.
Thanks @burpie actually got a respectable score on this one! And plenty more time left to better it
Awesome strategy, and great image. Very helpful! Thanks, @burpie!
thanks!!! it works!http://angrybir.de/1i3RgPb
My SE bumper is actually the one below your “2” shot and slightly to the west. I have worked on both that one and your “1” shot some as well, but didn’t pursue the “1” as it usually bounced back down.
Using the bumper I have been using, the same as @mvnla2 i think, I am also able to hit the 90’s frequently and almost always 83 or larger. I usually aim at the lower half of the apple at about the midpoint between the bottom and the center. I do think that i can get in the high 90’s or low 100’s if I find time to devote to it.
Pulled off the 101770 score using all 4 birds with my initial shot then tactical clean up.
Woo-hoo, a 3-way race!
Up to 105k with my above method :-)
@burpie make that 4-way. I’m not quite dead yet! This is another challenge level you submitted, isn’t it? :) Good choice, though. There’s probably a million different strategies that could work.
@hunnybunny Wow, nice score there. congrats!
All I can think of when I see this level is “I WANT SPACE EGGS!”
I can honestly say I have no idea how I got a score this good. I threw the first bird at about a 45 degree angle to the bumper at the top of the post. It bounced up and started pushing around the center section. While that was happening I threw the second bird almost straight up to take care of the top-left pig. I’m marking this level up to pure luck.
I discovered the SE bumper strat independently and was able to tackle 92K with all four birds. As long as the monster pigs don’t get popped they’ll send stones flying in all directions.
Good luck with this level as the daily challenge!
Here’s a screenprint of my 112k score.
For my strategy, see my comment above and the other screenprint.
I’m having trouble finding good #3 and #4 shots. Usually after #1 and #2, I have the top left and top right pigs left. Firing a hair above level into the west square bumper takes out a bunch of dots, top left pig and a few stones, but for only 12-15k. That top right pig, I don’t usually see any way to get to him, so I just fire north, bounce off the angled bumper and smack him when he flies into me (of course the level always ends right as he pops).
Are there better shots here?
@kelani Your third shot sounds about right. Try to brush into the wall – send a brick to greet the top-right pig.

An alternative shot 3 or shot 4 is to bang into the horizontal wall like so: http://angrybir.de/Ofu2O6
If this is the third shot, time it to intercept the pig at your 1 o’clock.
Oh I should have posted this many hours ago when after just a couple of hours on & off during the Challenge I got quite lucky with a 2-birder on Android phone for 102040 with the 1st shot just as @burpie posted on 1/21/13. After shot #1 I had a little over 62k (pic in Album, but trajectory line can’t be seen.) For the last 2 floating piggies, I aimed the 2nd shot almost straight up at the bumper in the upper right corner.
@burpie Wow thanks, I somehow read your mind. Right before you posted that I flubbed shot 3 and pulled off what you posted in pic #2. Haven’t been able to repeat it, but it’s good to see it once.
I’ve also found 2 easier ways (for me, anyway) to hit the 2nd shot. Fully zoomed out, there is a dim star just above the right side of the bumper. About 1 inch away at 4:00 is an identical dim star. Aim just through the top half of that star and it’ll hit the center to the right of the square bumper. BUT, even with long, careful aiming I was only getting 10% success on that shot.
So, I moved to method #2, which seems to work better if you do it first, then do the usual shot #1
Above Terence’s head at 1:00 is a rectangular bumper. beside it is a small stone cube. Aim at the right half of that cube and you will do a sweet double bounce off the bumper and hit the center in the same place as method #1, but with a better angle and a LOT more upward force.
You can do it after shot #1 if you’re quick. Sometimes that stone block will be disturbed, ruining the shot.
Well done @kelani
You beat me!
Back to flinging……….
@hunnybunny aw thanks :) I didn’t beat you, I squeaked by you, and not by much! I kid you not, that and 2 100k scores a few hours ago are the only 3 times I’ve topped 90k since this thing started.
@burpie I know I just said that I pulled off your second cleanup shot, but I may have been wrong, since I can’t replicate either of them. Re: the first one (left C-shaped route into the top left pig, which kicks a brick out) There must be a 1px wide spot somewhere on that bumper that permits that, but I haven’t found it. Rebounds seem to adhere a bit too perfectly to the physics on PC. Gee, where have I seen THAT before. :)
Goodnight @kelani happy flinging, I admit defeat!
Well done @burpie another excellent challenge
