I love waking up in the morning to see the community abuzz with news of a brand new release. Today is one of those days, as the Angry Birds Space Fry Me to the Moon (v1.1.0) update has landed on iOS and Android via Google Play and Amazon AppStore, with other platforms coming soon.
Update for PC: “Fry Me to the Moon” is now available in the Angry Birds Shop! If you are having difficulties with the in-app updater, you can manually update your app by going to download.angrybirds.com and clicking “Download Free Demo”.
Warning for Mac: Now available in the Mac App Store, but do not update!!! According to @sal9, the update both erased his previous progress AND won’t save new progress! Rovio was made aware of this issue, and encourage you to backup your progress and do not update until Rovio releases a further update. Update v1.1.1 is now available and all appears to be well again.
Update for Playbook: Now available in the App World.
This update includes new levels and a bunch of bug fixes, which we’ll delve into below:
- Fry Me to the Moon includes 10 new levels in episode 3 that have the pigs orbiting around planets!
- Looks like there is one new Eggsteroid to be found
- No sign of additional Fry Me to the Moon levels down the road, but you never know.
- 20 Free Space Eagles includes in this update
- Receive one free Space Eagle for playing each day
- When you activate the Space Eagle the “Feather Meter” now shows up in the top right hand corner of the level while playing. This means you can see you destruction progress while you play!
- Centripetal Force achievement fixed (I got it on my first show in level 3-1)
- Bug fixes, with the major ones address crashes on older devices (we will try to verify what all has been fixed)
- “Coming Soon” planet updated to show a pig eating a donut, though not sure what to make of this yet. Also includes the word, “Free”.
- No new achievements in Game Center.
- In level 3-10 you get to destroy the Space Needle!
Massive List of Bug Fixes:
- 4th-gen. Crashing Fixed: Most likely the biggest issue, 4th-gen. iPod Touch users should be in the clear now!
- Bug 38 Fixed: It correctly takes around 100 birds flung out of gravitational fields to earn the “Gravitational Escape” achievement.
- Bug 39 Fixed: Users should get credit for “Where No Birds Have Gone Before” after purchasing Danger Zone.
- Bug 40 Fixed: Achievements earned offline now register correctly upon reconnect.
- Bug 41 Fixed: This has been fixed two-fold. Foremost, the score that tallies when setting a new highscore stays your highscore. Also, all scores are multiples of 10, as they should have always been. Woot!
- Bug 42 Fixed: “Feather Picker” now registers correctly upon earning 50 feathers.
- “Centripetal Force” Fixed: While it was not added to the bug list originally, it is now pretty easy to earn this achievement.
Active Bugs:
- Bug 37 Partially Fixed: “Pig Bang Score Addict” correctly registers when surpassing 1.9M points in Pig Bang. However, there are still reports that it can register if the user surpassed 1.9M in another episode.
- Bug 43 Still Active: “Menu Popper” still does not appear to work.

It just struck me.
Is it pure coincidence that Fry me to the Moon was released exactly 10 days ( 10 levels ) before the “Supermoon” which is the biggest full moon of the year or the closest it will be to earth? The official day is May 5th.
Maybe tht day it will be relesed for PC..;)
Hmmm… Maybe they’ll add more levels? I doubt it’s a coincidence, but it could be.

I feel stupid going to download.angrybirds.com and checking to see whether there’s and update every 30 minutes.
I only check once or twice a day. Otherwise, we have a large enough community here that we will know rather quickly, post on the update log, and send a tweet.

I believe that the Mighty Eagle, Mighty Dragon, Achievements, and Mighty Space Eagle wil be for PC, just like when Angry Birds Seasons was released for PC!
Gamecenter is on iOs only ( Apple devices ). Not sure why you state that they will be on pc.
We all wish that ME lands on pc one day, but Rovio has never promised anything.
But it’s also coming to Macs with Mountain Lion. That would mean GC integration to Mac versions as well!
True, but at this point we can only speculate about Rovio porting the achievements to AB mac.
I’m really looking forward to this upgrade, some neat features are on the way.

An interesting fact to note is that while the installation file size of v1.0.0 was 32.4 MB, the size of this update is 29.5 MB. Strange..
I wonder how that is possible at all. I mean, more content and less size? Well,
maybe they found a way to have less files and manage things otherwise. But it´s still interesting
They removed some music from the “music” folder. But, also, these files don’t take so much space, I think.
When i listed the music on my headphones while playing, i thought i heard some new sounds on theme music, or maybe i’m just paranoid.
I couldn’t name those sounds new, they just came from the background of the older version. Or maybe they are new :)

True, they are not listed as their own leaderboards. But what is worse is that there is some inconsistency about whether they are included in the Total Score.
I can’t update it. It says:
“Error: unable to find resource on server. Please check if the URL is correct.”
What to do???

Rovio just recently updated AB Chrome with Easter Eggs.
They haven’t released any information on upcoming updates.
I’ve just updated my Angry Birds Space for pc and I can’t see the “Space Eagle” =S
Space Eagles are only available for iOS at this time.
I got it! Still, I don’t know why you had to go re-download the demo first. What’s the point of doing that?
P.S. The Danger Zone planet is now past the Eggsteroids planet for PC, in case someone didn’t already say that. :D
The “Demo” only overwrites the data files. It’s precisely the same thing.

It won’t overwrite your progress, it will just update your paid version.

hey,i just noticed something.the fry me to the moon planet looks like it’s partly eaten,and the coming soon has a huge pig eating a huge donut.weird.i think that pig ate half of fry me to the moon planet.
Exactly what I was thinking.
This update was really great with a lot of improvements and new ideas:
– A lot of bug fixes
– The feather meter is really useful
– 20 free Space Eagles and one SE every day
– Levels with moving pigs. (I hope the next update will bring moving planets.)
For me this update made AB Space the best AB game ever.
I don’t like the moving pigs……..stationary ones are way much more better.
I don’t like the moving pigs either. I didn’t have any problems getting them, but I would rather AB versions stay pretty much like they’ve always been with stationery objects. Otherwise I’m afraid the game will morph into something completely different.
It has a lot more of timing now. I didn´t get used to it so far but it´s still not a bad idea. Just a bit annoying when you don´t hit a pig because your bird is just a bit too slow or fast

hmm, I’m having an issue with this update.
First, it erased my previous progress on PB & CC.
Then it won’t save any of my new progress, resetting to zero at each new session.
Rovio was notified.
Same issue as sal9. Erased all old progress, each exit of the program loses any further progress.
My son lost all progress in Angry Birds Space and is quite upset. I see others have had the same problem. Is it lost forever? Thanks.
Unfortunately, most likely yes. We have alerted Rovio and they are working on a quick fix.
Rovio completely removed AB Space from the appstore btw.
We are the few unlucky ones who had to suffer from this.
Maybe Rovio has data somewhere else with your files, so maybe the data is still intact. But either way, always backup your files!
Why didn’t I get Danger Zone? I’ve got an android – is that it?
Danger Zone is currently only available iOS, PC, and Samsung devices.

We thought, but according to Rovio, unlikely.
Why? I thought they were searching the next planet’s name and Utopia was the winner.
But in a tweet or as Rovio said- “We simply asked for fans to send us their funniest, most creative planet names. As for what’s coming… well, that’s a secret!”
Though I still believe that they might use it in the future.

@Slim, why did you not mention the small sized feathers in your article about this update?
Well we can include everything, but I also don’t think that was a very significant feature. In fact, I’m not really a fan of it.
Plus, I was far more interested in bug diagnoses.
Of course this feature is as useful as a toe wart, but for the sake of completeness, you could also mention useless new things. I think this feature is quite special, since this is the only AB game now that has small sized feathers.
I think it’s pretty significant. I started using SE’s after the update, and when I thought I had all the feathers, the level selection screen said 28/30. It turns out, after searching and almost reporting a bug here, I overlooked the small feathers as completed levels…
Please help! When I try to open Angry Birds Space on my PC, an error pops up, saying:
Failed to open data/shaders/2d-sprite-alpha-masked.fx with errno 2
What do I do?!
Dorito, it sounds like something may have corrupted the file in question. If you’d like, send men an email to jk919212 at gmail dot com, and I’ll send you a reply with the file attached. Other than that, I can only say back up your *.lua files for AB:Sp, then reinstall it. But let’s try placing a new file in that folder first.

This may sound stupid, but where are my *.lua files for Angry Birds Space again?
And how do I back them up?
They appear to be in the ../../Rovio/Angry Birds Space/data/levels folder. For a temporary backup, you can copy that folder onto your desktop, reinstall, AB:Sp, then copy that folder from the desktop, back into it’s proper location.
Can I find the files in my Documents folder?
Problem solved! All I had to do was re-install the Demo and it runs the entire game smoothly, with all my scores intact. I still don’t know why the error popped up, though.
Like I stated earlier, it must have gotten corrupted somehow. But it’s great that it’s back up and running!
Pig Bang score addict is still bugged because I didn’t get pig bang score addict when the game first came out and then I played danger zone after the first update with fry me to the moon and once I passed 1,900,000 in danger zone I got the Pig Bang score addct achievement.
If there was really a bug fix, is it possible that the bug fix does not work for people who had installed the previous version?
Yep, I saw this TOOOO late. LOST all my progress after the update and Now I still lose ALL progress every time I open the program. This REALLY stinks!!! hours down the drain.

by the way, I am running it on my MAC platform.
Rovio has taken the update away from the AppStore to try to minimize this damage and hopefully will have a new version up soon.

We saw it on about 6 P.M.
At about 10 P.M.
I told my cousins to wake me up at 11:35 P.M. to see the moon.
It was larger,but it became white again and not so bright.

I wish that there would have been more than 10 levels they were too easy to finish even with 2 stars. Does it sound like they will release more fry me to the moon leveles they charged me so much for this(PC) i would hope they would give a little more in return
Hi Jeff, it is unlikely that there will be more levels added to Fry Me to the Moon, however, there are a number of benefits to the PC version. Initially, you have Danger Zone included in the package, this costs extra for iOS devices, and is not even available on the majority of Android, BB Playbook, etc. Also, PC is much higher definition over a larger screen, so will inevitably cost more money to produce. Also note that Fry Me to the Moon was a free update, and that the next planet (i.e. the donut) is labelled free, which I guess would mean that that would be free to.
As for the easiness of the levels, well, that must mean you are a very skilled player, because I know there’s a good number of people here (myself included) that did not find them easy! :)
There will be plenty of free updates. Just be patient.
In the meantime, you should try to 3-star all levels.

Fry me to the Moon was removed from Appstore because of a serious glitch.
Rovio has apologized and is currently working on a fix. We hope that it will be released very soon.
Rovio tweeted that it is awaiting approval at Apple.
Ok, take two:
1.1.1 Space update for mac was released this morning.
Tested it, and seems to be back to normal.
Rovio is not sure what caused this glitch that corrupted the save file.

I think pig eats donut with word “Coming Soon” and “Free” is Utopia. I see in Rovio News called Utopia is now ABS Free Planet because of competition to making free planet. Is it true or false?

There was a “name” competition and Utopia was selected.
Rovio never said for which “planet” or update it will be used.
