Our strategy for Danger Zone level 23 is to fire the Ice bird straight ahead into the wire block, detonating the TNT via freezing. Strangely enough, this first shot is very difficult to actually achieve, but it is very valuable. Send the Blue birds under the bottom planet, splitting while still in its gravitational field so that some birds detonate the TNT on the right planet. Fire the Lazer bird along a similar trajectory to pop the last pig. The score in the video below is 116,350.

Finally got it, but first shot is really hard.
I found a way to make the first shot somewhat easier to repeat…
Watch the video again, notice where Frosh hits the scaffolding. He hits it with full force and makes contact with the square scaffold, which has one metal piece in it. This metal piece is the key.
If you watch the video closely, you’ll notice that hits the top of that block, making the metal piece fall out of your way. This is the key: because if you aim lower, you’ll break thru the metal piece, and slow down just enough to miss the TNT, whereas if you aim higher you’ll miss the block entirely.
So don’t just aim for that block; that will just lead to a lot of misses and waates time. nstead aim for the top of the block. The video shows you just where, so look at it again if you need to,
Thanks loox, I took your advice, it worked, just haven’t been lucky enough with the chain reaction yet. :)
@sunshine, occasionally, a block of wood will fly round to the far right tnt, and that’s the trigger to the one bird finish. It is complete luck I think, but once you find that first shot, it’s just a case of fire, watch and reset until it works! Best of luck :)
Thanks Laurence for your words of encouragement! Improved 10k. :)
@laurence Thanks for the tip on the strategy Laurence. It worked just as you described. WTG!!!
Thanks Laurence, I will keep trying, the block has hit about 5 times, but the reaction fails to hit that last tnt, resulting in uses of bird two.
To make the hit easier, its easier to throw the ice to the blocks just like in the video, ‘but’, throw it downwards a lil’ bit. It will have 99.999% chance of good result.
I’ve been doing the right thing all along but the first shot, even when it blows through the center. NEVER gets the planet above. This is the first space level to give me a real problem. LOVING it overall!
3 stars with 113,590.
Same strategy, but found the first shot far easier than the second.
I got 132970 with that strategy.
The difference is that I only use the first bird, and somehow all the TNTs are detonated.
Yep, got the same result. There was one pig left after the first shot.
When you fire the ice bird and blow up the first tnt, sometimes one of the little wooden squares will fly towards the tnt. If that manages to blow the tnt, there is your 1-bird clear.
Same result!
After out-growling a grizzly bear, the 1st time I got the TNT to finally explode, it turned into a 1-bird shot. Score – 131,320!
I find that if you get the second shot correct you can destroy the top planet with a little luck.
Yes I got that too, no need to play difficult. As long as you detonate the first tnt you can take a second chance with the blue birds.
2 birds… first shot is the same, but fire the second above the top planet instead. If you time the split right, one will hit the tnt on the top, and one will sling all the way around to the tnt on the bottom right. Took me just a couple of tries and got 126k.
Same as video but got all the TNT’s to go off with the 1st bird. Score 134930 highest so far on the leaderboard!
OMG… I thought this level was going to be the deal of me! Talk about lucky shot and I am backing up my highscores file IMMEDIATELY… First bird, I was fortunate enough to have some debris from the initial explosion get caught in the gravity field of the right hand planet and set off a chain reaction of explosions that emptied the level for me… one bird, 135,740, and I am NEVER looking at this level again…LOL
The first shot shouldn’t be as difficult as it is. I find that the metal wire boxes put up WAY more resistance on this level than I have EVER seen before in Rio and earlier levels here.
Very true..l the yellow bird could make fast work of the metal boxes, but our lazer friend cannot. The ice birds never really did, though.
Fluked a one birder while trying to line up the first shot as per the video – slipped and instead went lower, through the 2 small square blocks and towards the lowest pig (without detonating). Ice bird slid in causing TNT to detonate and sent small wooden blocks flying and set off chain reaction from far right TNT.
This really helped!!! I was sure this was going to be the major obstacle between me and DZ score addict badge. May still be, but at least I now have some hope. Found the lower shot with the ice bird much easier. Haven’t gotten 1-birder this way yet, but my success with the previous strat was abysmal.
It’s probably the most annoying first shot of the entire episode …
I’d have to say 27 is the worst first shot…if you don’t get the pig in the wires you have to shift strategy completely.
I also fluked a one birder. 132200. On iPhone. Shot ice bird as described in Walkthrough. Then as I am reading the rest of the Walkthrough (on iPad), I hear things continuing to crash and the next thing I know 3 stars come up !
This is sooo very difficult. I have been trying to just finish, forget 3 stars!! I did make a one time shot that I wasn’t able to follow through- I sent the first bird the same path as the second bird in the video. It froze the structure (on the far right planet) that is just across from the scaffold/tnt tower at the left. The entire right planet was leveled, but I just couldn’t get the rest, even with three more birds. ARGHHH!!!
I am going on vacation this week, and hope that when I get back, at least this level is finished. I’ve 3 starred pig bang, cold cuts and all 6 eggsteroids, but Danger Zone is unbelievable! I think I might 3 star this level, maybe, by the time an update becomes available.
1 Bird, 138,940! Ice Bird as shown in the Video + a lot of luck…
This level is my white whale…I know that it’s a one birder…and I’ve done parts of it at different times…but that first shot is such a P.I.T.A. Had to take a break and go do some other levels. Maybe someday I’ll focus on Pig Bang or Cold Cuts instead, but I really love DZ
Can’t believe this but cleared with 1 bird, score 138,440. Talk about a lucky shot. Followed the video and got it on my 10th try.
After 3 hours of playing, I finally solved this one and it was 3 stars at 115,310. The only time I’ve solved it. I did it differently than the video. Sent the first bird down low and it was able to knock out the 4 towers around the right-most asteroid. Then I used the remaining birds (used them all) to clear the rest out. Now I’ve tried like the video and can’t get that first bird to break through.
A much easier first shot: don’t aim for the middle (the square metal block between the two gravities). Instead, aim for the rectangular metal block on the bottom planet. It’s so much easier to hit, and you can still explode the TNT.
Still trying to 1-bird with it, but I’ve done it with two birds for 126K.
OK, I have the first shot. At least to about a one in five chance. Trying to line up the second shot. Cannot really get a good read on the trajectory and timing of the split cause the banner ad keeps blocking that part of the video at the key time. Any points of reference I can use?
I used the Frost Bird to go under and around bouncing and taking out the TNT on the further planet causing a chain reaction. Used the blue bird to clear the way and the lazer bird to detonate the TNT wirth a reverse flip. Only 110,610 so far but I am working on it
First shot is easy if you aim for the hollow box and let him penetrate then detonate on his own.
This was by far the most difficult level for me to get above average on!!! I was ready to surrender with a score of 121830, which is ok but slightly below average on the leaderboard. I found the first shot pretty easy, especially using stevenville’s/kirbie technique but had great difficulty with second shot. You have to have him enter and split and exit just right to get the tnt. The few times I was fortunate enough to have debris ignite tnt, I was never lucky enough to have it get all the pigs. For those of you like me that are determined to get an above average score, my advice is to just keep reapeated but will add that I think using first shot in video that loox points out seems to have a better end result, although neither trajectoy got me a one birdie with a high score. I got my two best scores with two birds. My first bird aimed like video and luckily this time it also got the bottom left pig on the right planet (which is the one usually left if tnt fails to get them all), for some reason by doing it this way it got me an extra 7K points as I was stuck in the 121K’s forever. Then thankfully second bird split correctly to get ignite the chain reaction for the rest. I sure hop Average does not go above my 128325 so I never have to come back here!!!
I got a one birdie af a gazilion tries like the first shot of the video on top. As mentioned in post before, there is a one in a couple of thousand chance a little block of wood flies into to the TNT on the right side. And if you do get lucky, you need some more luck to have everything collaps with a chain reaction. But perseverance paid of, I got 137680 with one bird.
Here’s my video
Ha, I have played this level so many times and never had a complete one birder (always had to fire a clean up) then I came here, watched your video, fired one shot and have my >131K two-bird score. Some luck must have rubbed off from your video E-Star since I’ve hit that exact shot SO many times before and never realized the complete collapse!
Thanks estar I just got 135,830
Using the just above the solid block approach and finally got lucky. Had many many attempts that got the 1st TNT one one bird and finally a one bird with complete destruction.
After hundreds of tries I finally got it! And it is a top score now! It worked like in your video, E-Star, except I got even more lucky, and that mushroom on the lower planet got destroyed as well. Thanks for the video, if I did not see it, I would not believe it was possible and wouldn’t try so hard to get this one-birder.
@e-star if there was an Academy Award for AB videos, you would have my vote :). I agree with @annach, I would not have tried without seeing your video. Thank you!!
@wanda thanks for the mentioning, this way I was brought back to this walkthrough page and see all the lovely comments everyone has made. I changed my email address and in the proces also my subscribtions to a lot of pages, so I don’t get notified unless someone @mentions me, so again thank you!
And of course to all I am so glad I could capture this unlikely senario for you all :D
I watched @e-star‘s video and I got the lucky one birdie in about only 15 tries! Pretty cool. I’m not sure if it made a difference but I tapped LB just before the explosion and it seemed to push one of the stones perfectly to ignite the far right tnt causing the chain reaction ;-) Thanks E-star for the visual!!!
How do you do it @estar, this video is, as usual, brilliant. Cecil B DeMille eat you heart out. Once again ty
awww you make me blush @windwalker
As always I am so happy to see my videos still being of use after 3yrs !?! (really @justpast40 hahaha wow does time fly or what?!) and I love to see the smiles on other peoples faces because of little ol me putting in a bit of my time :D
Almost 3yrs later your video method still works @e-star, thanks again for all you do.
Unfortunately, I had no where near the destruction …. Justpast40 sniffles loudly as this 1-birder was only 131k. It’s a good thing there lots more hours to go because without the 1-birder I’m not doing well. I can’t get the hang of the 2nd shot …. I certainly need more practice.
One thing I’m finding increases my chance of the 1st shot sliding like @stevenellie wrote is a reduced power shot, perhaps 3/4 power.
Five years and numerous updates later your method still works @e-star. By the way, look out behind you on the King’s birthday. It just may be me sneaking up on you. lol Miss ya.
Whoo Hoo!!! After many tries last night, I finally gave up. Tonight I watched the video again & on third try I got 129,070 with one bird. Just luck I know but I don’t care. That’s a super score for me.
I tried another strategy today on the iPad, gave me 126000 points: first bird into the big part of the scaffolding, aiming at one of the little stones behind, so that the TNT explodes.
Second bird into the ice and mushroom.
Third bird now through this clear path with then making a u-turn into the far right bottom structure and its TNT. This should start a chain reaction getting all the leftover pigs.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D Haha minutes after posting my frustration on this level I got 124710 on this level with your strategy!!!! Nothing else has worked except yours, so thank you x10!
it is posible to get 3 star with only 2birds using the same strategy
Just for fun: Frosty is flying an amazing curved, long way, if you let him barely scratch and then enter the upper planet’s gravitation.
I haven’t managed a one- or two-birder with this, but it’s fun to watch.
Decided to put my score in just to show how I have no luck haha. Danger Zone lvl 21 and 23 have given me the worst headaches. I’ve decided I’m just gonna try to get 3* in all levels and not even bother with Score Addict unless a miracle(s) happens. 89,440 is the best score I’ve gotten with over 100 tries (half of that the Ice Bird probably never even blew up the TNT. The wood block that is supposed to hit the TNT to start the 1 birder always hits the helmet pig instead, sending it into the wrong gravity pull or just breaking it entirely. Slim’s strat isn’t helping me either, although that was what got me my pathetic score right now.
I was able to do it with 2 birds final score of 128,140.
Played this level for two hours and BAM! 138800 with one bird. :))
I’m sharing a horror story… I was on this level for hours trying to get it finished, boom, one bird and a score of 106570 without the added bonuses of the remaining birds…
Then my computer crashed. I may sue Toshiba for extreme emotional damage… -_-
I found if you get frustrated going for the smaller box with the diagonal, go for the longer box with the diagonal just below it, aiming just above center. It goes through the scaffolding much easier. Then a good second shot around the bottom planet, splitting just right will take out the rest. 130+ with 2 birds.
I really enjoy the Daily Challenge, it’s pushed me to improve a lot scores over the last few months. On this level, though, I haven’t had a lot of time to work at, and I was taking a few shots here and there when I had a few extra minutes. I quickly improved from 125K to 129K, but couldn’t even come close to repeating that (to say nothing of getting a really good score). Finally, with five minutes left I the challenge, I got the lucky one birder that many people describe and ended up with 135,160. This level, like so many of the DZ levels, takes a great deal of luck to get the rare great score. So, if you are hoping to improve, be patient.
