Angry Birds Space Cosmic Crystals Bonus Level S-17 Walkthrough

Angry Birds Space Cosmic Crystals bonus level S-17 is unlocked by 3-starring levels 7-1 through 7-10 of Cosmic Crystals. One strategy is to pull the asteroid through the western pig, then do the same on the east. Have three asteroids crash onto the Fat Pig’s planet will cause it to rupture, clearing the remaining pigs most of the time. The score in the video below is 64,320.

Among the weird strategies found by flingers in various Angry Birds games, the ”Single Pebble Theory” is among the most bizarre. Of course, it was found by Rat. Another flinger summarized it as ”I wonder whether the developers ever had that solution in mind.” It’s up to you to decide, but more importantly to see if you are able to implement it.

First shot to the west. Suck the TNT upo into big asteroid and push it into pig. That yields a few 1000 poins more than to suck it. For my highscore something triggered the TNT on top – wasn’t paying attention to that part of the screen so I can’t say what it was.

Second very close over medium asteroid to the left. Suck it towards the pig at 2 o’clock. Pig at 4 o’clock will collide with big boulder, big boulder to surface. One ore two smaller boulders as well.

ups, I meant of course 2nd shot to the med. ast. to the right.

I used the first egg to pull the TNT to the left of the slingshot all the way across the screen to the small pig on the right. This also sends a large boulder towards the big pig, cracking the glass.

Egg two, pull the small pig to the left of the big into the big pig. This breaks the glass, and the shards finish off the last pig.

I changed my shots for my current 73.940 score. You have to enjoy trick shots for this one…

Egg 1: Small pig, top left corner… the medium sized boulder at that pig’s 7 ‘o clock. Glance off of that boulder, travel behind the small pig, and draw the large boulder by the TNT into the crystal dome.

Still with me?

Egg 2: Same as my original shot 1… shoot to the TNT in the bottom left corner and draw that box of TNT past the slingshot to the small pig in the bottom right corner.

Easy peasy.

Whether this strategy will end up producing the definitive high score remains to be seen. I have no doubt, however, that good luck with these two shots can yield a few thousand points more.

@burpie – I tried that first shot 100 times and got it to work… twice? Got so mad that I flung an egg at that pig you’re trying to bypass, nailed him and then sucked the TNT down to the planet. BOOM. No more planet. Dunno about damage/points vs asteroid/TNT but that happy accident might be another option for those of us who can’t get a lucky bounce off that rock :)

Even if i can’t do it, strat has style. I like it.

Pulled top left pig down onto large asteroid which then bumped into TNT. TNT sent asteroid up into atmosphere and cracked glass.

Second shot to just over and just between mid and large asteroid (by lower right pig) which pulled both asteroids and pig to ‘planet’ breaking glass. Shards hit remaining top right pig.

Have not tried to repeat too much yet as chasing down averages in other levels but it all depends upon hitting the asteroid and then the TNT at right angle to launch asteroid up to crack glass.

So I devoted another smoke break to my own batshit crazy strategy, reversed the order of the shots (harder shot first now) and had a quick success.

This doesn’t get you a great score, but it will get you above average and its fairly repeatable. First shot to the right as close as you can get to the the top of the two biggest asteroids at the bottom. Activate pulling toward glass, hopefully this will move or kill that piggie and send one or both of the asteriods into the glass cracking it. Second shot, same as the video’s first shot. Hopefully the glass will break leaving you three left over eggs.

First, apologies to @dasa51 , @burpie, and @Happyshake for breaking into your leapfrog game without being asked.
Whoo Hoo! A one birder is possible. Shot above and in between medium and large boulder. Closer to large boulder. Large boulder goes to planet. Medium and small boulder go left. Small one hits TNT and is pushed to upper left pig. Pig into TNT causing a few small boulders to hit planet. Too much damage for the orb to survive. I think the medium boulder was also involved but too much was going on at once to be sure. Not repeatable, luck.

Rank: Out of this World with 2875 points
By HappyShake (@happyshake)

You say “not repeatable luck”? I say it is like shooting fish in a tank. Only problem is that you are blindfolded, sitting on a carousel and the tank is moving and a mile away.

Took me over an hour to get it right. I wonder whether the developers ever had that solution in mind. Great find – thx 4 sharing.

@Happyshake –I did repeat it myself after posting my strategy, although not for as high a score. So lets call it tough to repeat. You simply must read @burpie‘s response to my score and strat in the BP this morning. He translated my strategy into layman’s terms. Too funny. BTW, it’s killing him but not you anymore evidently. Sorry @Kelani. I didn’t intentionally leave out which two boulders to shoot at. It’s just most people are sane enough not to try this shot. @burpie lost a week of his life trying to replicate what he called “The single pebble theory”. But you asked. The right bottom pig has a large boulder above and to the right and a medium boulder above and to the left. In other words, the two largest boulders above the right bottom pig. Good luck with your sanity and kill those piggies.

@rat9 – Thank you for your encouragement and flattery. I am competitive at times, but you have nothing to worry about. Currently, I have a single #2 score (never mind where, I’m not stupid). that took nearly 1,000 attempts and represents the limits of my patience. Also notice the ‘great scores’ are ONLY in Cosmic Crystals. All the rest are empty because they’re mostly 3* min/laughably below avg. scores. My goal is to fix that. I’m not greedy, knocking off a few #1s would be lovely. Realistically, I’m happy with Top 25. Top 50 on those more infuriating levels :)

You need to go ahead and enter your scores @Kelani. If there as bad as you say, and I don’t believe it, they will lower the averages and make it easier for someone else to beat the average. If everybody just put in the high scores, the averages would be so high it would depress the average player. Most of us started with less than three stars and still don’t have three stars everywhere.

@rat9 With one or two exceptions, they are that bad. :) First playthrough was to finish. Second was for 3*/Feathers and next is for score bumpage. I do plan on entering them. It’s just a lot of scores. I don’t know of any quicker way to do it than open each level and look, but if I can help adjust the curve, I’m happy to help. Actually, it’s funny you mentioned averages. My claim of awful scores was precisely because many of those averages were high enough to depress me. Go figure.

One one-birder/egger solution to this level was called “the single pebble theory” by @burpie, although such name would be better deserved by some toher level (7-9, for example). Here is my implementation of such feat:

https://youtu.be/q_S4_qdu8iA

Aiming is much more difficult than I initially thought, whereas timing was easier. For my top score successful attempt, one shard of exploding planet hit the small pebble there, which collided with, and, hence, ignited TNT. This resulted into a 83k score:

@kathy From what I’ve noticed, the two boulders rotate in various combinations. If you look closely and use your imagination the big boulder looks like it has two “faces” (two eyes and a mouth). It it’s rotating clockwise you’ll see a point at which one “face” is at 9 o’clock and one is at 12 o’clock. You want the small boulder to hit the “shoulder”, for lack of a better word. That will give the right angle to head towards the TNT. (this also works if the faces are at 12 o’clock and 3 o’clock).

That doesn’t help any for after the TNT but it at least it seems to provide some consistency.
