Here’s what you need to do (or watch the video below!):
1. Open level 13-12 of Ham ‘Em High
2. Shoot the first Yellow bird anywhere
3. Now shoot the White bird backwards and drop an egg on the back side of the hill
4. If you hit the right spot the Golden Egg will pop up!
5. Once you find the egg you will see the first image below, which opens the Secret Super Bowl Golden Egg level
6. If you can pass the level you’ll see the second image. Notice that the egg contains the text “Rio” This text has been removed since…
7. Head over to, http://www.rio-themovie.com/win/ to enter the sweepstakes. …the sweepstakes is over.

You should be able to. It will only pop up once after you drop the egg bomb on the back side of the hill. I assume you’ve tried this?

Congrats! So I guess that confirms the fact that it is indeed in the PC version. Nope, currently the Mighty Eagle isn’t available on any platform other than iOS (iPhone, iPad, etc.).
pc version end of the hill but not the site of the hill, sooo i cannot get the rio superball.
I believe it is at the end of the last ledge, as this comment suggests.

To my knowledge this does work the same on the PC. Are you sure you don’t already have the football GE?
@mandoo I have seen on Facebook several people having difficulty getting the Super Bowl Golden Egg on PC. I can confirm that it is there (I just purchased PC v1.6.2 and obtained it on my first try).
The egg is not visible a priori, but is located on the back of the hill, just behind the triangular point. Click here for a screenshot of a working trajectory.
I really really did it more than 100 times and already surrendered now.
I have the same issue. Ive tried everything. I even tried getting all the eggs again. I tried reinstalling the program. It is definitely a glitch.
Odd, since I got the egg fine having downloaded directly to v1.6.2
the place where you shoot is that tiny ledge at the back!
How come my golden egg doesn’t say “Rio” on it like the picture does on the page where it lists all of the eggs and where to find them?
The word “Rio” and all numbers were added just for clarification. It doesn’t show that way in the game
Ok so I have a droid and there is absolutely no golden egg on the level, I have every other egg except this superbowl one and I saw the video but the hill that the slingshot is on in my version is completely different than the one on the video, its a hill but has one little ledge on the side if it and that’s it not like stairs, maybe I already got the egg but if so its nowhere to be found on either of the golden egg screens.
Ok I got it, for Droid users just hit the single ledge sticking out of the backside of the hill with an egg and it pops up, not even close to being out of the screen if you scroll out.
Is it standard, that Ham’em High is NOT present on Playstation 3? Game ends at The Big Setup (exept Golden Eggs of course).
Yes, there hasn’t been an update for the PS3 / PSP yet, though I have heard rumors that may change, but not sure when.

It’s in each version of the game. Be aware that it is not plainly visible, and the “success” area for the egg bomb is rather small. Keep at it.
How do I get the Ham em High and the Mine and Dine episodes on PC?
Two chapters of Ham em High are available for PC, but that’s as far as it goes for now. An update is expected soon. Also, please do not use all caps in your posts (this has been edited to normal sentence case).

Both, I mean Angry Birds and RIO, have levels missing (on PS3, PC “Ham’em High”, “Mine And Dine”, “Carnival Upheaval”).
Neither of them is free. Free users get more than those who pay! Awkward!
I’m not disagreeing with you. I think PC is overdue for an update, especially on the original app. I truly expect that update to come in the coming weeks.
As for PS, I heard that Rovio was reworking that app since the PSN hack. They plan to re-release for PSN, but no word on when.

Same problem here. My workaround is to find a previous version of portable AB (e.g. 1.0) and just start once then exit. Restart AB 1.6.2 again and the golden egg will be there.
However, some of the golden egg levels you’ve previously completed will be marked as incomplete, and the total count of golden eggs will not be correct.
A couple of the old puzzle eggs were replaced in v1.5. Perhaps that’s the issue.
I did it 100 times and it still wont show. Ive done it on my phone 3 time and got it all 3 times. Cant get it on the PC. Its not me! It has to be a glitch.

Same way as shown in the video. Watch the video if you haven’t already. The shot has to be right on for the Golden Egg to pop up. It will only pop up once, at which point it will be available on your Golden Eggs page.

What device are you playing on? And what version are you running (you can click the ” i ” on the home page to see v1.x.x)?
I watched the video and got it the first time. I’m playing on my PC, so it really does work.
We have tried the way in the video and many other ways on our PC. I got it on my phone 3 different times (I had to reset my phone twice) and it doesn’t work on our machines. I thought maybe it was a Vista compatibility thing but I have the same problem on my sons machine running XP. There has to be a glitch between the game we downloaded and our system.
I had problem with PC version too but this info helped me:

It did work. I just have to play the whole game over. I didnt know I had to back up everything. Oh well! I guess I just have to play the game again…
That is the way to fix the “No Rio Egg/#20” problem on the PC. I would just add a way to keep the current progress. Im cool with playing again but Im sure some are not.
Oh yikes! Are you sure you don’t have a copy of your highscores.lua file in the following folder (that’s the path for Win 7 / Vista)?
c:\users\\AppData\Roaming\Rovio\Angry Birds\ For future reference, you will want to backup the highscores.lua and settings.lua files contain in the folder above, as they contain all your progress. highscores.lua contains the normal level progress. settings.lua contains the progress for special levels, like Golden Eggs. This would also allow you to transfer progress from one PC to another (last I checked this doesn’t work from PC to Mac/iOS though).
i can’t get it!!! =( been at it the whole day, even tried re-installing and repairing the game…btw, im playing on pc, any advice?
Can you be a little more specific with the trouble you’re having?
1. Back up the .lua file (location above)
2. try installing an older version of AB (1.0 – 1.51)
3. run once
4. re-install the 1.62 update
5. replace the .lua file
all will be fine

Where can I get an older version of AB’s? (1.0 to 1.50) to download to a PC so I can ‘unlock’ that damned 13-12 football?
I have hit that projection on the backside of the hill numerous times,and numerous places, and no football shows up. I’m willing to go back and get the rest of them again if I can get that RIO football to finally work!
Also, what are the .lua file in the Install directory C:\Program Files\Rovio\Angry Birds\data\levels folder. Should I back them up as well?
Hi Bill – I would check out this comment thread between myself and cillmylandlord (she also has a bulleted list of steps in this comment). A word of caution, be sure to read it closely and backup first. You don’t need to backup the LUA files related to the levels. You just need the highscores.lua and settings.lua files. The location of those files varies depending on what OS you’re running. If you’re running Windows 7 it will be in:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Rovio\Angry Birds RioI back up those files after every level is complete, and have since I started playing AB.
I have read those portions of the thrad several times, and am willing to try the ‘fix’ steps.
BUT>>> That still doesn’t get me a copy of an older versin of AB 1.0->1.50.
I can find .rar files all over the place, but not sure if any of them are for a PC.

I am playing on a PC. I got the golden egg. Then is there just the one extra level to play? I did that. My egg does not say Rio. But one explaination above says it will not say Rio. Is this correct?
Any added text — such as numbers on the eggs and the word “Rio” — is just for reference and not how they actually appear in-game.

I think I will concede that the super bowl golden egg on V1.6.2 for PC is just not there. I have played level 13-12 with the laptop connected to a 60″ TV as to get every spot on the backside of the hill, hit with a white bird egg, and still no golden super bowl egg.
I have contacted Rovio, and they have the worst customer service ever, after 4 days my request still shows under review. I give up folks, how do you get that egg on this version?

I obtained the Rio egg is v1.6.2. But there does seem to be something that needsto be examined. Rovio has heard about this issue recently. It is also on my bug list.
Rovio’s customer services may not reply within 24h of your email, but they do a pretty good job considering how small the company is and how many emails they receive daily. They also prioritize support emails. In-game bugs are not as urgent — and not as immediately fixable — as platform issues. I would imagine that their response will say “The issue is under investigation and we hope to have a fix in future updates.”
I’ve got the superbowl egg, got the star for it and Level 14 is still locked. I’m on a Mac – any ideas?
Re-defeat level 13-15. Should unlock chapter 14 if you have the Mine and Dine update.

What code are you referring to? The contest that was paired with this promo ended a long time ago.

I just bought AB from Rovio and it doesn’t have the black point on 10-13. Also there is no golden egg above the rocket ship.
Not sure what “black point” you are referring to in Level 10-13.
The rocket ship golden egg is indeed in the PC version.
On level 10-13 on your video the base that the birds stand on has a pointy thing on the left side. My version doesn’t. Also I have tried and tried and cannot find an egg over the rocket ship. Look, everyone, I just turned 65. I’m a little confused. What is Rio? I bought from Rovio. Should I look elsewhere? TIA

The egg above the rocket ship is not visible initially. I believe it can only be seen if you fire a Yellow Bird way up in that direction, causing the screen to scroll upwards.
Rio is two things. First, it was an animated movie. And second (and more importantly) it is a separate app — which is also available from download.angrybirds.com. The general concept is the same, just using the movie as a theme.
Yes, the pointy thing is on your picture but not on my game. When I shoot a yellow bird over the rocket, the picture doesn’t scroll.

Are you using the speed boost while still on the way up? Basically, try firing the Yellow Bird nearly vertically and clicking early on to trigger the boost

i can’t have this egg in Mac version of angry birds, i get bored trying and nothings happens!! i have angry birds 1.6.2, and i read all the comments and i don’t see nobody with mac and this problem. my mac is running Lion 10.7.1

Where exactly did you shoot the birds? I’ve got the same problem and would like to try your solution? Did you shoot one bird at the other birds (as if trying to destroy them)?
I have PC version and have seen the location pic and watched the vid and have hit that back side of that hill everywhere it can be hit and no egg.
There must be something more to this that some with the PC get it to work so easily and then others can’t no matter how hard they try.
I’m miserable. Can’t get the football egg. I’ve hit that thing six ways to sunday. ain’t happening. I’ve been at this for the better part of the last hour. Nope. I’ve hit my AB wall today. :/
and yeah…I’m pc. I’ve got sound issues too. can’t keep the sound on, the files jam and I get this loud terrible noise…rovio told me the file is catching. but they don’t offer a fix which means I play with no sound.
