Our strategy for Angry Birds Seasons Haunted Hogs level 1-6 is cut all three chains using a Yellow bird. Then loop a Boomerang bird over the main structure, spinning it back into the TNT on the right side. The score in the video is 103,310.

New Event: Wheeljack – Wrecking Time!
I found this level quite annoying, but after quite a few attempts I finally jumped from 102k to 110k. I think the only strategy is to follow the video and get lucky with the collapse. In my case, after the first shot, the thick roof section rolled left over the Frankenpig and its neighbor, which sent quite a few stones cascading down the side of the structure with it. Fortunately, I didn’t miss with the second shot. I don’t know that there’s much advice to give on this level – just wait for a favorable collapse and make sure that you’ve practiced the second shot.
Totally agree, like with many of the harder levels, it depends a lot more on getting lucky with the falls than it does having the perfect strategy. Using the strat here (I try to aim high to take out as much of the chain as I can…not sure if it matters though), I will sometimes get in the high 90’s, but other times well over 110K.
Frustrating, sitting at (currently) #2, but sometimes not even getting 3 stars on attempts that look like they’re executed perfectly. But that’s par for the course here I guess ;-)
I agree wholeheartedly. I have no problem beating the level with two birds, but I’ve yet to be lucky enough to experience a good collapse.
This is exactly how I got my score of 110770. The thick wood roof cascaded down to the left along with the Franken pig and his “neighbor”. I think the key to getting this to happen is to send the YB in a high arch to come down at an angle so that the concrete blocks land on the wooden plank at the same time forcing it to yank out. Verses crashing down on seperate locations. This allows for the tumbling action. Here’s a screenshot of the trajectory I used:
http://angrybir.de/VRtVuR
Ugh ! Me too, been working on this level for almost a day now, although I did go to work.
I agreed @AustinRHL . So far best method :) I got 108k.
I think I finally figured out the puzzle behind this level. At first glance, the three weights dangling by three chains just screams “cut the rope,” i.e. send Yellow Bird on a path that will slice through all three chains so the weights drop straight down and bomb the pigs below. In fact, any other use of that first shot seems like a total waste of time after just a few tries at causing damage to the great pig pyramid. Ahh, but what if your first shot could do the work of both Yellow Bird and the Boomerang Green Bird? It’s all but impossible for Yellow to reach the TNT on that first shot because it can’t get the right angle…. Because the chains are in the way! My Third Commandment says “the best offense is to use your opponent’s defense.” So instead of slicing through all three chains, slice through the first two at about a 30 degree downward angle. Your aiming for the top of the last cement block where it connects to the chain. If Yellow hits that spot with enough force, the bird’s forward momentum will be just enough to cause a pendulum action (it swings to the right) while the bird’s downward momentum causes the chain to snap. Unlike before, where the weights dropped straight down, this time you’ve got that last weight being dropped to the right. Fortunately, that’s about the same spot Green Bird breaks the wood beam and detonates the TNT in that tricky second shot. After just three tries using the alternate approach, the Yellow smacked into the weight, sending it swinging toward right. Then chain snapped, freeing the weight to drop and break the beam protecting the target. Boom goes TNT and I had a one-birder worth ~106K. I guess you can keep killing two birds with one stone. Or you can use just one bird and one stone to kill a bunch of pigs. Aloha.
@ surfcow I too thought of this strat, but wasn’t going to post until I could pull it off. I’ve hit the weight at the right angle a handful of times, but it hits slightly above where it needs to and crumbles before hitting the sweet spot. I wasn’t sure if my idea was worth posting since I hadn’t been able to pull it off. Glad to know that it is a viable strat and congrats on pulling it off!! :)
Nicholas @kcin76 – thanks. If great minds think alike, what’s your excuse? Mine involves lots of electro convulsive treatments (ECT) and an above-average ability to imagine that i’m thinking outside the box while I’m inside the box thinking about how nice it would be if my family were to finally let me out of this box. After three-starring every level of all the non-free AB releases – twice – I’m beginning to figure out some of the less obvious puzzles. Congrats on not giving up on your hunch/theory and I’m sure you will help lots of us in the future when you post some creative alternate strategies . Aloha.
@surfcow: My excuse isn’t as exciting as yours. I believe my ability to think outside the box stems from being dropped too many times on my head as a child. :)
I accomplished it on a few different occasions but have yet to manage a decent score. As of now, my best one bird score is 104,630, but I shall keep plugging away until I reach an acceptable score. Have a great day!
UPDATE: Here’s a screen cap showing the trajectory and result – ~70K – but not a one-birder. Add a minimum of 10K for two pigs and you see how this could net >110,000. Aloha.
Duh, forgot to include the link: http://angrybir.de/USg99U Thanks.
UPDATE: For an alternative to my first alternate strategy, see comments below https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/angry-birds-seasons-haunted-hogs-level-1-6-walkthrough/comment-page-1/#comment-334934 — in other words, you should ignore everything I’ve written above and instead trust that I’ve come up with a better approach to spanking the snot out of this level. Seriously. Just go try it. Aloha.
Here’s a snap of method so eloquently described by @surfcow
Only a 102 though as didn’t get good destruction at the front. But you get the idea.
Screenshot
105,790, but not until I realized the yellow bird has to cut the chains as high as possible. (Playing on an iPod touch, so I had to shrink the screen.) That made it easier for the boomerang bird to get across the top without colliding.
Not a great score, but I’ll settle for the 3 stars on this one. Hope this helps someone else.
Don’t give up if you don’t get it with 1st boomerang; I got 107979 with 3 birds.
Shades of Rio! The chains, the sihlouttes in front… I tried @surfcow‘s method but without results so went back to the tried and true of sending yb thru chains (I agree @G’maBird, cutting the chains higher makes the second shot easier). If boomerang bird misses his mark and hits the triangular stone, wait a sec and see if it doesn’r cause the wood plank to tip up then into the tnt. Btw @surfcow, I’m still laughing about Timmy and his desert. :-)
I’m so disappointed in you @bird-addict. But since you laugh at my posts, you can’t be like some people on here… *points finger at no one in particular* Perhaps my alternate method should be renamed Trigonometry because it sounds interesting until you actually try it? I admit I’ve only pulled off this miracle shot twice. Glad to see that a few have had better success in terms of points. Too bad you don’t get “style points'” for more creative shots cuz this might get at least an 8 out of 10 if it weren’t a 1-in-200 success rate. Aloha. Oh yeah, I’m working on an alternate to alternate first shot that might just pay off.
@surfcow, let me know if you discover an alternate to your alternate ’cause try as I might I’m not skilled enough to pull off your first alternate. I came close a couple of times but… I was able to get a good swing on the third cement block, so then tried to get boomerang bird to clip the chain as it was swinging over the target. At this point I was getting level weary and decided to take the easy way out(for me)and move on. I should disclose that I left space to seek out the levels you were working on in order to play with you. Call me a stalker if you must, but I was missing your wit and humor.
I’m baaaaaaack (scary music ensues)
@Bird-Addict, your wish is my command. After locating the wormhole that Terence and friends used to travel to Utopia, I packed my bags and took a short trip to an alternate reality where I met up with the Surfcow from that universe. He saw what I was up to and said “far out, moo man,” and then he whispered these words: “Get wood first then get high with the green. You need to stutter before reaching first. No U-turn, just go slow to score some blow.” I asked the alternate Surfcow the name of his favorite band. “That’s easy, Fleetwood Mac,” he said, adding, “You’ve got to go your own way. When you break the chain, get ready for the landslide.” Armed with an alternate strategy from an alternate location in the space time continuum, I was optimistic about finally beating the average score for Level 1-6. Translation: send Yellow Bird to break two small wood blocks at lower left, making solo pig drop and pop. Next, send Green almost to top of first chain. Right before Green actually hits the chain, tap quickly like you want the bird to boomerang. This trick causes Green to hit the brakes, but once it hits the chain a split-second later, the bird forgets all about doing a 180 and instead continues toward chains two and three. With some practice and a little luck, you will get this result: dropping blocks cause a landslide to the left, and without support at the base (where Yellow struck earlier) the structure starts to break up. In the meantime, Green’s progress is slowed down by the combination of the “stutter step” and three chains. By the last chain, the bird should be dropping like a rock toward the area right above the TNT. An explosion will make ghosts of any pigs left and put the finishing touch on the collapse of the pseudo pyramid. Will post a screen cap ASAP. Aloha. P.S. Easier shot than the first alternate’s “another brick in the fall.”
Update: First time with this approach I managed 111,900. Just upped it to 114,690 after about 25 attempts. Because of the Green Bird’s somersaults, there isn’t an exact spot to aim for or a distance from the chain where you tap. Keep flinging and tapping; you will get a hit on the TNT within ten minutes. If not, delete Angry Birds from your device and download Cut the Rope. Then download the song Tusk by Fleetwood Mac. Aloha.
@surfcow great strat and I appreciate the creativeness of the shot, well played. we have the RRS for the Remi Reverse, this shot deserves a consideration for the ABN glossary in my opinion. the “SSS” surfcow stutter shot. brilliant strat and thanks for sharing.
Holy Cow @surfcow !! I’ve read that some want to curse you for coming up with this trick boommer, or as @donnmega so precisely named it the ‘SSS’which definitely should be added to the ABN glossary, whoever is in charge of that maybe @mvnla2 ?
But I am not going to refrain!! Although being a family site I must:/ 3 1\2 years later I cannot make n
Boomer break that diagnol wooden plank, the very very few times i get him to land on it!! Darn you cow I cannot even make close to average and since it’s Tuesdasy I’m going to Wwwwwwhhhhhhiiiiiinnnnneeeee in your ear for payback!!!! Darn you Cow!! oh said that already did I:/
JK I’ll keep at this near impossible strat and you owe me a visit at the BP pal so I can buy you a really really strong drink, hand you my tablet and force you to make this shot for me lol
Aloha…
Ok well the whine got me above average anyway:/
Here’s a screen cap showing the aftermath of “stutter shot” : http://angrybir.de/QSD6po
This attempt scored 113,000+ using two birds. Aloha.
This is so interesting that I almost (but not quite) want to try this level again. Will save for later.
@surfcow, Thank you, thank you, thank you, for saving my life (or at least my ipad’s life)! After days of frustrating attempts to get over 105,000 I discovered your method and hit the TNT within 10 minutes as you promised, upping my score to 116,090. Great strategy!
@twizzler – glad you were brave enough (desperate?) to try my new-and-improved approach. As you can see, we both scored >116,000 so there was a small reward at the end. Better yet Iit kept you from cracking your iPad screen from going tap crazy. @DonnMega – I’m humbled that someone with your experience and success would take time to recognize my out-of-da-box shot. Thank you – and be sure and let me know if you ever come across another level where it might come in handy. In the meantime, I hope someone suggests a cooler name for it though…. Like “Barnyard Break” or even “Bovinus Interruptus” – Aloha.
Thanks for the strategy @Surfcow. I don’t know how you came up with it since it’s so hard to execute that second shot. After finally achieving an above average score, even if by the slimest of margins, I’m putting level 6 in my rear view mirror. See you on level 1-7.
@surfcow AU-WE, I was going lolo on this level! I finally got the right angle on the boomerang bird so that he fell directly onto the wood plank above the TNT. It was a slow, agonizing collapse and then all the piggies were gone. Adding the two bonus birds gave me 116,590! Mahalo nui loa, ko’u nalu pipi ku’uipo!
@surfcow, I somehow missed your second alternate strategy and worked your first for 2 hours without success. Came back here for the single purpose of… well….. giving you a good verbal lashing for making it so impossible to break average! I then Read the comments more carefully, and found your “alternate to the alternate”. Presto! 114k! Congratulations on escaping my verbal wrath!!! ;)
O.k for the hmmm 3rd revisit¿that makes my 4th visit. Once year since this episode was released and I think finally got it!! Still not in the top 100 but much closer.. Improved from 108k to 112k .. Using @surfcow ‘s SSS strat
Btw did we ever get this added to the ABN glossary, do we still have a glossary¿
@Sweetp i don’t know who ever started that glossary, maybe @mvnla2 , but i don’t think she’s hanging around much anymore?
Not the most exciting level to play, & nothing like a do-or-die shot with the boomerang bird to raise my blood pressure. A key to a high score is the destruction you get down at the front. If you’re lucky some of the falling debris will take out the 2 wooden blocks at the very bottom & cause a lot of tumbling stone to raise your score. With my highest scores I had over 50k after the 1st shot because of this.
On the right side there is a triangular stone block over the TNT. Usually this just falls down & blocks the tumbling wood from the right side after the TNT blows. If you bring the boomerang in high, above the TNT, it’s possible to have it break the top of the diagonal wooden plank & fall right so this stone falls & triggers the TNT & therefore it gets blown to bits & out of the way. I wish I could describe it better, I’ve only managed it a few times but having that block gone helps. Good luck everyone!
@karen68 Did you try @surfcow ‘s second alternative strat , Flinging yellow at the bottom , then the tricky shot with boomer¿
I struggled with this level, trying surfcow one birder to no avail.
The strat that finally landed me a 112k beauty was to …
1. Yellow bird through 2 left bottom wood.
2. High arch boomerang to go through chains and if luck take out TNT
Good luck fellow addicts
Same here, tried so many times, but no go on the one birdie and ended up doing the same as you did. I got 114350 and happy with it.
Here is my video.
I spent WAY too much time on this level, but hopefully what I learned will help others so they can move on and continue to knock me lower in the overall leader board. :-)
Regardless of whichever strategy you use two things are imperative.
1) You get an Excellent collapse of the stone support blocks on the left. Whether you fire the yellow bird high or angled really doesn’t matter. I have achieved scores well over 50k with all methods of dropping the hanging weights first. Given, of course, those support blocks collapse with it. And it does happen. You just need patience and perseverance.
2) You cannot flub your second shot. If you go the route of firing the YB high then you gotta get those block on the right to tumble right while still killing the remaining pigs. If you choose to take out the bottom wood blocks on the bottom left then the boomerang bird has got to both collapse the left support blocks AND drop to set off the TNT.
And as always… Luck of debris destruction.
I manages to increase my score by only a couple thousand – not even coming close to the high scorers, but, in order to keep my sanity, I’ll have to relinquish to others as I am going mad with this level.
@vogelm congrats on top score and the trophy , can recall which strat (there’s so many here) that you used to get the 121k ?
Any thing you can recall would be great, I’ve been struggling with this level for quite a while, and a few revisits ?
Yellow bird up through the chains as high as possible without hitting the upper blocks. Chains and lower blocks fall with the desired outcome of breaking the two wood planks on the left side and starting a fall of the stones, wood and ghost blocks. If this does not occur, reset. Boomerang bird into the tnt box. Got an above average score but couldn’t break 110k.
