Our strategy for the Angry Birds Rio Trophy Room “Palm Tree Trophy” level is to use the “bloated bird” technique. Fling the White bird as far as possible without dropping its bomb. It should pass over the tree on the far right and into the structure beyond, causing it to fall. Then blast the TNT on the left side with the Yellow bird. The score in the video below is 137,810.

Use the white bird to hit the wood/glass holding the structure on the right. Do not drop the egg. Rather, let the bird hit the leaves and break the wood/glass. Use the yellow bird to hit the tnt in the 1st structure. 135430.

If I recall correctly, I dropped the bomb right where you said to land the white bird, and the carcass did some additional damage to the upper right of the structure. Yellow bird hit the TNT and the whole level came down. Waiting for my daughter to get home from school so she can call me with my scores.

The explosion is supposed to take out the right structure not the red bird, correct?
If so, I’ve never yet had this happen, do either of you have a pic of the trajectory? What angle are you hitting it at?

@fidslady – the right structure is taken out by the white bird, Yellow hits the TNT and does the rest, 10k for red. I play this level on my Kindle, so no screenshot capability. Best approach is to have white fly through the upper (far right) palm fronds of the top tree in the ravine and his body will hit the wood/ice blocks at the base of the right tower.

Used this method which is the same as video walkthrough, the second shot is more difficult then the first but with enought tries you will get it and be sure to get the flower for an extra 3K points.

As @lesleg points out, the flower is important. A few other things are also important for very high scores. First, after the WB, there should be as little debris as possible on top of the hill where the right structure was standing. I noticed several times that it the bottom part of the structure doesn’t always fall. There is enough there that it really can add up. Second, you want to get as much of the glass in the gulley as possible.

Use the white egg bird to drop an egg right at thebase of the structure on the right side. This takes out the glass on the hill and below, as well as the structure. Use the rocket bird to angle slightly above the palm tree closest to the slingshot, which should allow him-yellow bird-to blow through the wood and TNT. This results in 3 stars with a score of 133,020. This appears to be an average result.

This worked better than my strat which was to launch the white bird over the left side structure, releasing the egg to drop at the point on the right side of said structure where a small lip exists. Then used yellow as you described to detonate the TNT. Sometimes the explosion would take out the right structure and some times it didn’t.

I think yours delivers a more consistent result. It netted me 135,700.

I havent tried this method, but mine is basically the same, but i just fired the white bird towards the right hand structure and didn’t drop the bomb. Then use the yellow bird as described, which I find the harder of the two shots. Got just under 135k like this :)

High scores also possible by bombing front first then yb directly into TNT. Flying debris from left structure sometimes take out much of the right one.

Here another strat:

1.) Aim w/b to the middle of the diagonal cement in front of the first building. Release bomb in order to take out the roof protecting the two flowers. With some luck the w/b will go into the 2 vertical wood pieces with the grass tuft on it. This will slow down the speed of the egg causing to drop on or into the right structure making it collapse. Hopefully to the left, causing lots of damage.
2.) Y/b into TNT

My best score after first bird was >99K. Unfortunatly I missed the second shot. Best score with two birds was 126K. Only 126K I must say, because the right tower collapsed to the right, not to the left where more points (trees & ice) would have been scored.

@emider your strategy was just what I needed to post a score I can be happy with, thank you! I tried this level every which way and after several attempts with your method I finally found success! :) Aimed white bird at diagonal cement and dropped egg as late as possible. Bird flew up and over and cause total destruction of right side. So much easier to hit TNT w/YB after clearing the path with egg from first bird.

here’s a more challenging and less boring strat than the one in the video:
shoot w/b into the gap between the left structure and the two trees just missing the large monkey and drop egg on the bottom monkey to follow through to hit the same two blocks as shown in the video. Ideally the stone ball falls all the way down. This way you will have more consistent higher scores on he first shot. 2nd shot like everyone else.

You just need the WB to hit the left vertical wood so that the right side will fall right over cliff and the stone ball crashes down to the left to crush as much as palm trees and glass as possible in the pit below. You really need scores above 60K after first bird for a good ending score. Then just pray you don’t mess up YB to the tnt ;-) It also helps if some of the left palmtree takes some hits from exploding debris.

Nice job @crivit ;-) Nice score too! I haven’t been able to improve yet but your tip for the YB is spot on for getting the tnt almost every time…even if you don’t get extra palmtree points…aiming him straight and accelerating immediately gets him to the tnt almost every time. Thanks again ;-)

Thanks for the strategy @crivit. Took a while to get the aiming correct for both birds but zooming in seemed to helped me. The second bird is tricky but activating it late seemed to get it to the tnt more often.

I pass it without video. My way is like @crivit. Because lot of AB players have sometimes problems with repetition – there is another description:

1. WB – nice long arc. Highly repetable if you catch passageway. Tiny over Big Monkey right ear (it sits at R corner of L structure) and NO touch of palm tree leafs same time.

Moment of ignition vary. WB could go very low but is to late. Between two palm tree area looks good. WB hits wood or glass brick, egg goes down.

You can achieve little under 50 or over 60K there. The way of R structure will fall counts. You will see it during a play. There are rest of cut palm trees, a lot of glass etc. It’s much better when stone falls to the L side and made a lot of disaster.

2. YB – flat arc as video shows but it’s harder then it’s looks like. For me was better made an acceleration of YB late – after 2/3 of it’s fly.

Decription valid for scores from 130 to over 140 K and 2B. With 60K first shoot I miss YB and must finished level with RB. After this I know so 3B / 3* is possible.

For 1B solution (propably) you must attack L structure with WB. I have no time to check it now.

“For 1B solution (propably) you must attack L structure with WB” >> Yes, just for the record, 1B solution exactly like in your description but dropping the egg a very little bit earlier, in order to hit the right end of the wood plank (that one above the third monkey from left. Because looks like never TNT explode this way, the bigger score with 1B was around 100k.

Thanks @bird-tester and @crazy-rider! My score isn’t as good as yours (138,400), but I hope these additional comments will help. I did find the video very useful, but for me, more details are always useful.
I play on an iPad, so these may not work exactly for other devices. I also use a stylus.
On the left edge of the slingshot platform, just under the second light band from the bottom, there is a bright yellow dot. Pull WB down so that the center of the stylus is just below and slightly to the left of this dot. You should not be able to see the dot. The slingshot should go through the center top of WB’s beak. This should get you between the left structure and the palm trees fairly reliably. Detonate just below tip of highest frond on bottom tree. For YB I pull the sling back until stylus over upper left tip of black palm in background (this is fully zoomed in.)
Would appreciate similar details from anyone with a higher score.

In search for another easy way to push the right structure, I have found a cocktail between eminder and video strategy.
First WB downward (about 45 degrees) and release the egg in order WB to fly and “shave” the grass on the top of the left structure and hit the middle of the right tower. Practically it is the same method as eminder’s but looks easier for me at least)
Second YB as in the video.

I can’t seem to get over 140k with the walk through, I sent WB towards the left tower top hollow wood block, dropped egg above concrete block left of flowers, WB hit and bounced off top of tower into bottom left of right tower knocking everything to the right and with luck concrete ball rolls to the left taking out the two trees and everything below. YB into left tower TNT. Not high score but above average.

Can someone puhlease pour me a large glass of wwhhiiiinnee before I go totally insane with today’s challenge, lol. I just can’t seem to get beyond 138k with this level today, let alone repeat my current score (142520). Think I shall give @crazy-rider strategy a try, and if after another hour I’ve not improved, well, I think I shall be having some harsh words with ‘lady luck’ the next time she decides to drop by, lol. ;)

Yep @leggy i was just confused..but i got a real lucky shot following emider strat above..
How do i get a puppy? Do you have to beat high score..or just be #1 improved? I don’t usually play challenge by POTJ is starting to bug me..needed a Change..nice score yourself:)

Re puppies, you have to beat the top score at the time of challenge launch, and also submit a screenshot link and the strategy used on the relevant walkthrough page…some way to go yet, but still plenty of time, so keep flinging huni, lol. :)

This level seems to return quite a scoring variation for levels of destruction that appear to be similar. One result will come back low, and the next, thousands of points higher.
