This is our walkthrough video for Angry Birds Rio Smugglers Den Star Bonus Level #1. The level is unlocked by earning 30 stars in Smugglers Den. Fire two Red bird straight ahead into the stone plank jutting out from the left tower. The second bird should cause the tower to topple rightward, with debris breaking the leg of the other structure. The score in the video below is 97,470.

Similar score to video, but I launched first red bird to break the hollow box at the base of the first tower, having it fall to the left and take out crates, gas can, and oil drums. Second red bird to junction of crate and wood block at the base of second tower, it falls left to pick up red bird cage on the ground.

Thank you! My attempts at figuring out a way were not doing well, and I couldn’t do the video route at all! I got three stars using this way on my 2nd try though!

Thanks for the easier strategy! I couldn’t get the video strategy to work for the life of me. I got 97,400 on my third try with your method. Wish I would have thought of it myself!

First shot high lob just passing the second hanging light left taking out the small little brown wood box on the left bottom of right structure and also the vertical wood piece over it. Structure collapsed nicely to the left.

Possible one birder?

Second shot into top wooden hollow sqare of remaining structure, bird rolled to the left making structure collapse decently incl. gas can and oil drums. Two birds left, +20K.

@emider – This is the strat I was using also. I think the first shot has to hit the junction of the box and the little vertical wood piece to ensure the right side falling. The box will sometimes go kapoof if red bird bounces straight up but you can’t count on that.
For some reason I can’t get the vid strat to even pretend to work. I do notice the second shot on the vid is about 1.5 pixels* higher than the first shot but that doesn’t seem to help. Don’t know…

*OK OK – I didn’t really measure it! :-)

Just found out how good a score this really is, so I have to add that until I got the 1-birder, I wasn’t even above average. Had tried this strat and @burbman‘s numerous times. Could never get Burbman’s go give above average. For 2 birds I think there must be essentially nothing left.

Thanks @emider. I love it when I see someone else use the same strategy as I do before looking here! Easily repeatable. The first shot should yield 34k+, so if you don’t get to break the hollow wood box, reset.

Meant to say I reversed the shots with the first bird on the left tower, then second with high arc to the right.

Thanks @emider for the first shot strategy and the hope of a one bird solution. Kept at it and did achieve it. Score is not great but better than average. Found that zooming out was more productive in getting the right side to fall than finding an aiming/reference point when zooming in.

I’m not sure if they adding these levels with power-ups in mind or not, but I had some trouble getting to three stars. Tried to follow the video, but couldn’t get the first tower to knock out the second. Ended up taking out the lowest square wood block of the left tower (which caused collapse) and then a well placed bird to the small wood box on the bottom right tower.

Thanks misterparon for the video. I have played this level more than any other in the Bonus episode, and yet I am still stucked at 98k. Now at least I can see how it works.

I was extremely lucky on this. The only time I got one-birder, it gave me the top score of 108k! The top part of the left tower toppled to the left, while the rest of the left tower to the right — basically the same way of toppling with a two bird strat, except that it was achieved with one bird.

I got 100730 doing it identical as @burbman descibes. Then I came here to post and saw the one birdie strat by @emider and after lots of attempts. I got the one birdie for 103370. I got the box and plank to break plenty of times and the second tower fell left, but the front tower never wanted to fall too. I got it once so far and am moving on…Thanks for tips ;-)

Wow, this one is just painful… I can’t get the video method to work but the method described by @burbman finally got me scores in the upper 90’s!
