Angry Birds Rio Hidden Harbor Walkthrough Level #13

Our strategy for Hidden Harbor Level #13 is to fling a Black bird into the base of the central tower. As it falls left, it should leave a nice path for the next Black bird to destroy the rightmost structure. The score in the video below is 173,530.

154,650 = 2*
155,410 = 3*

Min 3* Score is 155k

Note, This is one of the lowest 3* thresholds I’ve seen. It’s difficult not to get 3*. In 40 attempts, the 154k score above was the only 2* I could get. You can fling all 4 birds just about anywhere and still get 170k+. This suggests a 4-bird strategy may exist that’s higher-scoring than the 2-bird.

If you’re chasing points, don’t settle for anything less than 115k on the first shot. I’ve had as high as 118600.

I agree @dmsral. I’ve noticed that for me those higher first birds scores come when the second horizontal concrete bar is cracked, so I’ve been concentrating on getting that to happen.

trully confirmed, if you want 180K you would need around 114K on first shot.

Thanks for the tip on the first bird score @dmsral. It took me about 30 resets to finally get over 115k, but I choked on the second bird. A few more flings later, and I hit some sweet spot, and with all the debris damage, I got 120k! An easy second shot, and 2 bonus birds later for 184k. Now I can finally move on! Woot-woot!!

It’s annoying how you can get 180-190k with a 2-birder and 176-180k with a 4-birder.

Just a refinement of the video strategy. Don’t hit the upper part of the tower. Aim higher so Bomb hits the top left corner of the hollow wood block with a marmoset behind it. From here, a couple things can happens.

1. Bomb breaks the block and steamrolls the marmoset. This is good, let Bomb self-detonate.

2. Bomb lands on the corner and stays put. Also good. Auto or manual detonate, but if he starts falling to the left, manually detonate.

If you miss high or low, no problem, just detonate when Bomb is closest to that hollow wood block. Ideally, you’ll break/crack the bottom two horizontal planks. This makes more tower fall leftward. Like @dmsral said, if you don’t get 115k, reset (My cutoff was 113k). Damage varies wildly. On my 189k shot, I got 122k on 1st bird.

Second Shot: If Bomb lands in the pocket and stops, let him auto-detonate. If he starts rolling to the left, manually detonate as fast as possible.

About the first shot: I think it is important to also damage the concrete bar on top of the hollow wood block. This will enable more damage and is essential for a 115k+ score.

Sorry @kathy, topped your score … finally. It did take a first shot of ~128k … again. Got my first one quite some time ago and it was good enough for top score – for less than a day. Fortunately I had learned since the first one to make a better second shot. So ~999 shots later I have top again, for how long, I wonder.

My best shots so far have been 1st 128k and 2nd 49k. If only I could string them together, I could have 197k, but for now I’m happy with the 192k.

The strategy was pretty much the one described by @kelani.

Stop by in the Bloated Pig Forum and i will buy you a drink; )I didn’t suspect my top score would last long and I’m actually happy it was beat by an honest player and not someone using power up;)

193,510 using @kelani strategy above. Had 119+ after the first bird, and complete destruction of right hand structure after 2nd with extra damage to the left from flying debris.

I had the same strategy and was using your refinements for first bird and achieved 119000 second bird for clean up current High score 202150 I’ll post a screen shot in my album.

I think you are being plagued by DCB! your high score is nearly exactly 10K higher than the next highest with one bird left, and 10K less ( for the double counted bird) would still put you in third place.

I wouldn’t notice or really care- I’m way down on this one, but I am going through the levels seeing where my differential from the high score is greatest to determine potential for better scores and on this level I am 20K below your high…

After you made me aware of the DCB in level 1 I have been careful not to pause until the final score has been displayed. I do remember spending a Lot of time on this level to refine the first bird so it would achieve over 119000 second bird for clean up.With all the higher scores that I’ve achieved it appears that when you hit a sweet spot the score just rises. As I don’t believe any level with a bug should be posted on leader boards and I don’t believe this is a DCB score @Admins can decide.
