Angry Birds Rio Hidden Harbor Walkthrough Level #11

Our strategy for Hidden Harbor Level #11 is to bounce one Yellow bird off of the inner tubes on the right side, aiming to break through the cardboard boxes. Then take a direct shot at cardboard boxes from the left side. Keep in mind that cardboard is softer than crates. The score in the video below is 106,240.

113140. Over the top and bouncing off the back wall, goal is to get the TNT to explode. Second bird low through the remaining boxes to clean up.

Perfect strat @dmsral. Worked for me!! Only took a few attempts to get 112k!! I’m happy!

That’s exactly what I did too, aiming for the 4th life preserver down with as flat an angle as possible (which means barely missing the birdcage on the top right corner of the stack). That should leave a row of cardboard boxes (4th row up) for the cleanup shot. It can take a lot of persistence to get a good score…at least it did for me.

@dmsral and @grimbley I get my best scores going over the top, too, and only when I detonate the TNT in the middle column, giving me between 70k & 72k for the first shot. I send the bird as high as possible just over the left column, and then shoot at the 3rd life preserver down when the angle is right. If you go underwater, Chuck loses a little speed and he isn’t coming in at the right angle to get all the way to the TNT, yet @kelani has the high score with that technique, so I guess it’s sixes. (BTW that’s an expression that I’ve only heard used twice, both times in Utah, but you know exactly what it means in context, and it’s a lot shorter than saying “six of one, half a dozen of the other,” so I think its use should be expanded everywhere there are English speaking Angry Bird players! Aren’t we always looking for the shortest route to our goal, the one-birder?)

@Snoid Thank you for posting. I wasn’t aware I had the high score, so I didn’t post. I actually got my score going over the top, like @dmsral and @grimbley

Even though I’ve gotten the same debris with the bottom shot, I now like the top shot, because it has a better reference for triggering. You’re right that Chuck loses speed underwater, but the obstructions on the lower route are also weaker. I’d say use the shot that’s easiest for you to make. We like the upper one, Rovio’s tip shows the lower one. Sixes, as you said :)

For 115k, I fired so Chuck would fly between ½-1″ / (13-26mm) above the structure, then trigger right when Chuck levels off. (adding your response time, this fires Chuck slightly downward) Usually that trigger spot is between the first and second posts sticking out the top.

I don’t have any idea how the damage works here. My debris was nearly identical to my 111-113k scores. At most, one more stone block was broken.

I can’t post a screenshot today, as a family member needs my ipad every other day. I’ll post when I get it back tomorrow.

@kelani I’d assumed you did it underwater because you’d advocated that method in your posts over the weekend. I don’t think you have to post a screen shot unless you want to, but thanks for explaining how you got the high score. I just wish you could explain how to be so consistently good! You’re obviously very analytical in your approach, which probably accounts for your results.

Congrats @kelani on top score!! Where is that promised screenshot? Lol just kidding. .hee hee I was hoping you had some idea about the debris leftover. M I’ve got down to 4 stone blocks and one wood (not cardboard) that is about all I can get… :( was just curious if you had cleared the whole thing. I did almost have a one-birder but nope! !
Oohh also going over the top;

@Kathy thanks for reminding me. Screenshot’s below.

Just for you, I tested this level and figured it out. I think 111k-113k leaves 4 stone blocks and 1-2 wood/cardboard ones. On my 115k attempt, I must’ve had three damaged stone blocks and one cardboard box left. By my estimate, the stone blocks are worth 2,500-2,800 points, so 115,470 is consistent with one extra stone block being broken.

Also, purely by luck, I just got a 95,470 4-birder with that same debris remaining. So, a 2-birder would’ve been identical to my score :)

110something. I almost one-birded it with an above-the-structure shot, YB hit the middle TNT as well. The leftmost two coloumns were intact. I wonder if a one-birder is possible.

Same idea as @dmsral but I actually found it easier to go under the boat. Going over the top and getting the right rebound requires some complex angles, whereas going underneath is a simple parabola. Hit the 3rd life ring from the bottom and Chuck will fly into the double-box crossing the right two rows, or hit the middle of the first life ring to take out the bottom two boxes. Second shot through the four now-horizontally-aligned cardboard boxes in the first four rows.

Under the boat is not even remotely easy, neither is “just” hitting the third life preserver. This level is a nightmare.

Rank: Master Slinger with 7130 points
By Kelani (@kelani)Score: 115,470

@Maiasatara Well true, neither shot is easy-easy, but underwater, the bird moves slower, which makes it easier. For me, anyway. :)

Aiming points help a lot. Fully zoomed out, fire Chuck downward so he misses the back of the boat by about 1/4″ / 1 bird-width. There is an angled cloud edge behind the sling that not-coincidentally shows the perfect angle.

Next, Find the dark square block below the rightmost inner-tube, on the ocean floor. Trigger Chuck when he’s directly above (or a hair past) the block’s right corner. Chuck should hit the top red band of the bottom life preserver and take out the cardboard box and bird cage on the second row of the last two columns. Again, there’s room for error. If he hits the third row, a good score is still possible.

Found the best potential to be from the ‘under the boat’ shot. Narrow angle so it just misses the keel of the boat, and accelerate into the lower life preservers (2nd or 3rd from bottom seem to be best). Aim is to hit the box with the flashing red light and trigger switch in it, which will blow the box with the flashing red light on the the first column. This should drop several boxes and make it easier for 2nd bird to penetrate to the TNT for a 2 bird clear. Not a great score yet but above average, so will keep flinging….

Hi, I used one of the blue birds you got in Timber Tumble. There were two of them left when I started with the Hidden Harbor series. If those blue birds also count as Power-ups then I will remove that score.
