Angry Birds Rio Beach Volley Walkthrough Level 6 (5-6)

Our strategy for Beach Volley level 5-6 is to loft the first Yellow bird into the bottom-left of the last tower. This will cause it to topple to the left and clear all marmosets in the middle. Loft the next Yellow bird in a similar way, this time boost to take out the far marmoset. Finish the level by bombing the first tower with the White bird. The score in the video below is 94,450.

First yellow bird just over the top of the first structure so that it takes the leaves off the top of the palm tree (important for later), you want it to knock down the smaller structure behind the palm tree which sometimes pushes the horizontal platform towards the right causing most of the larger structure to collapse. Take out the farthest marmoset and remaining structure with the second yellow bird. White bird just over the top of the first structure and drop the egg between the back of the structure and the palm tree hitting the coconut behind the marmoset for the extra 5000 points and taking out whats left.

I can’t seem to get the yellow birds to go far enough to hit the furthest structure. It is impossible. Why won’t they fly all the way like the video shows????

this is unfortunately it!
the method I use id both yellows towards the back of the structure. The first one should go through the vertical wooden block to the left of the monkey to the left of the flowers. You need the falling tower to take out all the monkeys apart from the front and back one. With a bit of luck I guess the back one could be taken as well. if not, then use the second yellow to take the back monkey. Use the white bird low onto the front monkey so that the bird flys up to take out the platform. I have around average with this method, but I think higher scores are easily possible! Gl :)

Hey guys, here’s a different strat for you to try that gave me above average. I aim first yb directly at first structure at the little tip of horizontal plank of wood showing just left of the little conrete square that sits left of first monkey, this will take out the whole first structure, by collapsing most of it for more points rather then just aiming thru monkey, you want the sticks that hold it up to fall too. next aim second yb at to go thru palm tree leaves and on thru the vertical wood plank that is left of big middle monkey, now third wb i was trying to drop bomb on one of the coconuts for an extra 5K points but missed it but that’s the idea, either way drop bomb on coconut and wb body will ricochet over to take out all of last structure…you want her body to try and land around the first left watermelon as that spot seems to be the spot that will get the flowers and cause debris to take out that last pesky monkey. I only got one flower so if you got the coconut and second flower than the score could be 10K higher…GL

Just tried your strat after numerous failed attempts at others and this happened. Hit join of leaning and horizontal planks and then repeated shot to same point through the tree at next platform. The structure just collapsed leaving one monkey (which fell and survived at back). YB to rear through debris to collect 106850. If far monkey had gone there may have been a little more to score but the damage by YB would not have happened.

This is killing me LOL…I am only 378 off average..its that last darn monkey over in the the far right laughing at me..I knock him downhe kicks his darn little mo.key legs and gets up…I need a bomb ….

This strat is a bit hard but should give you above average though.

Pull the slinger downwards and release the bird also releasing it speed boost power as well so that the yellow bird hits the side walls of the wall and hits the horizontal wood block above the stone block and this should take out the right side at the most. Use the second yellow bird on the tree(right side) so that it hits the leaves and also the vertical wooden blocks clearing everything now. Use W/B to cleanup!

There’s six of them.
Are you talking about a high arc shot bouncing off the far right wall?

The one on the right and the lowest wood block below which there is a slanting stone block. I need coffee too, I actually posted this strat because I was not able to reach average on this level so I posted a strat which gave me atleast the average!

1st bird high lob through the bottom of the tree. 2nd under the monkey to the left of the flowers, this gave a chain reaction where everything collapsed to the left and
grouped the coconuts together which are 5000 each. White bird high up and landed just above the remains of the tree and the coconuts, dropped egg for a bonus of 10k (could have made even 15k) and continued to land of that darn monkey all the way on the right side and took down the remains of the structure.
This gave me my first highscore on ABN finally yayy :-)

I remember this level quite well, as I struggled for a long time and was quite contented to finally get the current score of 107k, only to discover in another site that moonsabre has a high score like 10k above mine. So I knew my strategy was not good enough.

Now you got an even higher score. After reading your strat, I wonder why I had never thought about it before! I will come back to this level trying your method, though I need still to work through some levels in Trophy Room. Thanks for sharing, and I also trust your score.

yeah moonsabre is the Beach Volley king, luckily I found out a lot of his strats, but he’s at 111k at this level and I beat him at least 2 handfulls of times :-)

thanks parlons I still exactly remember the shots. I was on 91k after 2nd shot with just that last monkey sitting on 1 pole. When the white bird corpse was flying at it I was at 110k. It finished exactly next to the monkey just sitting there for 2 seconds then the gravity of the bird took the little structure down also to the left. I nailed 3 coconuts with other tries but never got as lucky as before :-)

Wow! Thanks @crivit! After just 20 or so attempts I bumped my score up 10k points to 102k. Only destroyed one of the coconuts. But still, one of the top 50 scores. This should be the official strategy for this level.

@crivit congratulations on your high score! I see it remains undefeated, good for you! I am having so many problems with one part of your awesome strategy (thank you for sharing!), it’s the chopping of the tree. I try high, narrow arc, still rarely get YB to cut the tree at the bottom. When I do manage it, the top of the tree falls straight down, with the trunks aligned, and creates as mini tree. The coconuts are shielded by palm leaves. If I try a shot that is low. I can cut the top, getting rid of the leaves, but creating a tall, leafless tree, and it stops my domino effect, rubble from the two right structures cover and protect the coconuts. If it isn’t giant leaves, its a bunch of little stones. Any advice? Good luck! I hope your high score stands for you!

@mecstaveler u want to have the mini-tree plus the ladder being pulled away a little from the structure after the 1st shot. With 2nd shot shot debris should take care of all leaves and expose the coconuts.

Used your strategy to finally get an above average score. Challenging level but fun to watch the destruction sequence. Need to get the tree as low as possible so the white bird shell can get the last monkey on the right.

I have to agree with you @greatleo since this was the last level I was under the average score. Just splitting the tree can give you a chance to get a 100k+ score. If you take a close look the bridge with the small stones sometimes edges to the left, that is the best sign for a great 2nd shot. Unfortunately I’m not able to record a video :) Well done with your score, glad I was a help to you Rio seems unfashionable now but I think it is the best game ever

Thanks for the strategy @crivit! I just started playing Rio, and I am quite enjoying it. I’m not so much a fan of Space or Star Wars versions, so it is nice to have Rio to escape to :) I just wish those darn marmosets didn’t wiggle so much, so annoying!

Ditto from me, @crivit — I was able to improve my score to 104,870 so far using your “chopping wood” strat (and very satisfyingly edge out my friend @bonneypattycat by coupe hundred points :) I have this level flagged for significant improvement potential so I’ll keep chopping…

BTW, I also think Rio is the best game ever.

Step 1 of daily challenge: Get above average score. Check. Step 2, Get away from stone dead last on daily list: 93k? NOT check, I am currently 3k behind second last. LOL! Am glad I play without sound. That famous marmoset would laugh at me too much and will most definitely anger me. Irritating monkey!

Got 104k with pc. The only difference to the normal way is that I destroyed the 2 left leaves and the palm leaves with direct hit 1st shot. I don’t know what irritates me most in this level, the leaves or that marmoset….
