Angry Birds Rio Beach Volley Star Bonus Walkthrough Level 9

This is our walkthrough video for Angry Birds Rio Beach Volley Star Bonus Level #9. The level is unlocked by earning 70 stars in Beach Volley. The strategy here is brilliant, but not easy to replicate. Send the White bird downward, dropping its egg-bomb over the inner tubes below. The goal here is two-fold. Foremost, the White bird should take out all three sand blocks over the main level. Doing this successfully will clear all marmosets. Additionally, having the egg-bomb strike the base of the palm tree will earn a lot of points, which are needed since the threshold here is quite high. The score in the video below is 101,70.

That is a slick move. I was dumping the egg between the palm tree and the structure trying to take out all 3 sand blocks. It has not been the easiest strategy.

A tough shot but this is the strat here. The key for serious pointage is to take out the tree with WB’s bomb.

I was close, I’d worked out a two-bird strat, which worked reasonably well, save for one small problem: I couldn’t score any higher than 83k with my method. And that is still but 1-star territory. The video method finally worked for me, but it would appear that a flatter, shallow angle than that which appears in the video is necessary. Perhaps it’s just me and my device, but every time I tried to approximate the angle in the video, I managed to get the bird hung up in the palm tree.

I did the same. Used the ABN video for this level. Takes a bit of time to get the aim correct but using the space between the sling straps helps.

@AMslimfordy. That is a most beautiful video! Execution strategy is great. Did you do that one or was it @sal9 or @fujitoast? I haven’t been able to defeat this level just yet. WB either goes way over the top targets or just blasts through them totally. As of today, I’m still at one star (80k)…This one is going to drive me egg-y. Thanks for the video!

This is a fantastic strategy, and oh so fun when it works!!! After struggling to get past 70k doing it my way, it took about 8-10 tries in the video way before I got it, and then I had to do it against, just for fun!

Wow, this one is tricky! Finally got this update on my kindle and got 3 stars on my own, except this one. Good grief! I hope the whine factor kicks in for me. I am stuck at 80k, and that took awhile :). Great video, @amslimfordy. Thank you!

Don’t give up! 2-bird 3-* is possible. I did as the video shows but missed the first TNT, hit center and right properly. Everything to the right got taken out with excellent devastation, also center, so I shot out the bottom of the left TNT w YB. This took out enough devastation on left to give 3*.

Nice video @amslimfordy and what a great level with the funtasctic “bouncers” Rio is famous for ;-)
I had no problem getting the one birdies but it took a few tries to get a good score to go with it. I had several one birdies with two star scores, lol ;-)

I used a slightly different angle for more “debris” points. I quickly realized you need to make the “egg” work for you! I sent WB in at a low angle…about level with the palm tree’s left frond and drop the egg once you are about level with the height of the “sand mountain” the sling sits on. Drop the egg on the top part of the pink and white inner tube, near the pink stripe so that the WB will ricochet as in the video to take out the supports of both tnt’s and the cement triangle dropping them all. Meanwhile, the egg will go right and straight into the palm tree chopping it up for more points while getting it out of the way so that once the tnt explodes, all the “debris” gets blown up and has room now to fall off leftward over the edge. You can pick up a lot more points this way ;-) You also need a lot of the rightmost structure to tumble off rightward onto the umbrella for more points. GL

A 91,260, following the instructions! Just had to remember to shoot white bird DOWN at the base of the palm tree before dropping. A clean passage through the three supports, everything drops and blows – and I’m now 100% on Rio/Rio 2. I can’t drink anymore, so I can’t toast my victory – and I don’t smoke, so I can’t inhale a good cheroot with my victory brandy… I wonder if we’ve got any more of that yogurt in the frig?…

I just scored 108,130 points using the same shot as in the @amslimfordy video. After hundreds of attempts, I finaaly got great destruction on the right platform.
