Angry Birds Rio Airfield Chase Walkthrough Level 16 (10-1)

Our strategy for Airfield Chase level 10-1 is to fire the Red bird through the first two suspended sand blocks, causing both the boulder and TNT to fall. In most cases, the whole left side of the level will clear. Fire the White bird to bomb the right structure and ricochet through the final sand block, causing the last boulder to do additional damage. The score in the video below is 78,560.

89340 pretty much same method, but hit first red bird off top rock by accident.still worked out in my favor.ty for help.

I got 95740 with two birds.
First bird: Hit right were the stone ball and sand under it meet. This will cause red bird and stone ball to come down and break thru the right side of the first (left) wooden “dome” shaped planks. This will cause weight on that side and break it down as well as cause the two left stone vertical blocks to tumble down and ignite the red and blue tnt gas cans.
Second bird: Send WB in almost horizontal about where the red bird cage used to be and drop egg to cut up some more of the left structure (and get any birdies missed by first shot)so that it’s deflated body will shoot up thru the sand and wood under the tnt and go on to take out the sand under the right stone ball. The tnt will drop and with the explosion along with the falling stone ball, it should take out all bird cages on the right and cut it up and stone ball should drop on blue tnt gas can if your lucky.

This level has various outcomes and you can get a good score several ways, including the first shot in the video but then send WB in where I previously stated where the red bird was. This second shot seems to give you a better chance to ignite some of the gas cans which is nessicary to receive high scores.

Thanks @lesleyg. It took me a while to get the first bird dialed in, and I screwed up my second shot, but still managed to raise my score from 77k to 83k, with room for improvement.

Thanks @lesleyg for the post. This is a challenging level but did improve the old score. Thanks also to @comex666 for the video. Found the second shot difficult to aim and drop both items. I had to use three birds instead of two to obtain the present score.

99500 with three birds.

As described by @lesleyg but with a third bird to finish the level. I had one two birder for 97k before that, and 100k+ if definitely possible that way with more luck.

@stocktoad I hear ya, I don’t do the challenge often because I only have a couple of iterations of AB and minimal time, but I finished my daily missions and have Rio so figured I’d have a go. I am having a hard time just getting back up to my original high of 83.

not a lot of comments here today, which is unusual for a challenge.

LOL! I’m right there with ya @stocktoad. I haven’t been able to get over 80k today. This Level in Rio is a tough one for today’s challenge. It is definitely a “challenge” even for dedicated flingers.

Ditto @stocktoad – can’t beat my original score no matter what. I think the guys at Rovio have missed their vocation. They could have been designing bomb proof shelters for the Ministry of a Defense!
