Angry Birds Go! Update Revamps Sub Zero for Christmas

On your marks! Get set! Ho ho ho! Angry Birds Go! v1.6.0 is now available for iOS and Android! The Angry Birds are going festive with this update, including:

  • Santa’s Sleigh: Now available for free in the Sub Zero showroom. This kart is equal to its competitors when fully-upgraded, not super-natural. But it’s still pretty cool!
  • Christmas-themed Sub Zero: Dash, dance, and prance your way through these holiday-packed tracks.
  • Some minor, miscellaneous bug fixes are also expected. Bugs aren’t immune during the holiday season, after all.

    Same here, after updating I lost all my progress in rocky road, air and stunt. Just subzero and speedway are okay.

    Well…I lost everything! The device game has reset to zero and the cloud version too. I have ticket open with Rovio and await answer (been half a day).
    My teammates in multiplayer still see my drivers license and stats so they sent me this as back up…If I can’t get this restored, it means I’ve lost 8.5 million bird coins, roughly 2,500 gems, all purchased karts and my 22,417 race played for 2,016 challenges completed, 2,004 trophies and 58,000 plus golden eggs was for not. I’m currently ranked as the #9 best player in the multiplayer and would be #1 if the game was not suspect to people being able to hack their scores into it. Needless to say…it’s been a rough day!
    I RECOMMEND NOT DOWNLOADING TO 1.6.0 WITHOUT TAKING A BACKUP FIRST. My device auto updated the app and you see the result.

    all progress in Air, including carts, disappeared. Progress in stunt ok, but lost my best cart, which was fully upgraded. Now I don’t even have enough gems to start over with the base cart. Open ticket w/ Rovio; at least they have good response time, unlike a lot of other developers.

    Sorry, misspress. The 78% bug fixed. Santa’s Sleigh is completely white. All episodes unlocked. Changed the order of the episodes (Sub Zero is now the third). Nothing special in Sub Zero tracks, although it says “Sub Zero XMAS”. Added coin doubler advertisement to appear every now and then. WP.

    I lost my kart with full stats on Rocky Road and Air, which I paid for with the special kart offers to receive a bonus with each purchase. The offers have returned as if I never purchased them. Still have my Seedway and Sub Zero Kart that both have full stats. Lost all progress on Stunt including the kart I spent 400 gems on. I now have to re-purchase and they didn’t credit my account. In order to proceed I will have to pay another 400 gems if I want the same kart.

    In regards to my lost kart and kart stats on Rocky Road, the progress is still there so I can’t compete because I have the first kart that is 303cc and my opponents race with karts that have over 600cc. I am hugely disappointed as I am sure the rest of you are. I will be contacting Rovio as soon as possible.

    I would contact Rovio before re-purchasing the karts.

    But I have learnt my lesson. I will never ever update any Rovio game any more unless the Nest confirms that it is bug free.

    Sent Rovio a message. Waiting for reply. I am not repurchasing. I lost gems on purchase and all the gold coins for upgrading to full stats on more than one kart. So this is a huge bummer. The worst part is can’t even meet half the current challenges because the kart is so weak and the AI has their vehicles maxed. *sigh*

    Update: Rovio has contacted me back wanting to know if I every used telepods and exactly what I lost. I have never used telepods nor do I own any for any games. So it couldn’t be related to only that. I have given them a response to their questions and look forward to another speedy response and solution.

    On a side note, they acknowledged that they received some feed back on this issue and are working on a solution. I must say I do appreciate their efforts. During this time of year, customer service can get pretty hectic.

    Capster L1 – Full Stats (Started when I purchased Rocky Road Kart Offer for $1.99)

    Soapy Slider L1 – Full Stats (Started when I purchased Air Kart Offer for $1.99)**Apparently I still own but have lost all stats**

    Stunt Episode
    Weaver XT L1 – 1060cc (Paid 400 gems for and now have to purchase again.)

    I lost all that I completed on episode Stunt. I can’t play any challenges on Rocky Road and Air episodes because the kart is too weak and slow to compete against the now AI karts with full stats.

    Thanks for the list, @viking. I lost the same karts and some more because I assume I had more karts than you.

    Did you see that in the upper right corner there are now some “special offers”? It’s exactly these special offer karts that got lost. maybe you give this information to Rovio. Maybe it will help. Let me know when they solved the problem.

    Otherwise if the can’t solve it, maybe they can give us the karts back when we give them our Rovio account. If this is not possible, I will give them my bank account number so that they can pay me the money back and then I can purchase the karts again.

    You are very welcome. I do see a button for +2 gems but when I click it, nothing happens. I still see the special offers in the kart buy menu which is how I know they are available again even though I purchased 2 of them in the past.

    I will let you know when they reply. I know they want to fix everything without having to give away any more than they have to. So it may be a couple days. In the end, I hope there is a code they can unlock fully loaded karts to make it simple. Those that lost challenges and/or game status should be OK with replaying levels as long as their karts have full stats. It would be tedious but easy nonetheless. Another fix but more complex would be giving us an equivalent amount of coins that would allow us to buy all the stats up front. Or maybe another possibility would be a bonus kart for each episode that has full stats. Ultimately the levels are fast and easy, it is just the time and effort of upgrading the karts that really frustrate people…..well in my opinion.

    Anyways, just brainstorming. I will let you know when I hear from Rovio again. Hang in there! B-)

    @Chris – Nothing specific yet. Only what I mentioned above and something about adding lucky coins on epic for my problems. When I requested an update, they apologized again and mentioned they are working on a solution. If you want the specific reply, I can PM you, but there is no solutions mentioned. I did just check “My Activities” on the Rovio page and noticed that the topics I had opened recently for both Go! and Epic were both labeled “Solved”. I am extremely disappointed and re-opened them requesting an explanation for closing my support requests. I will keep you informed.

    For Epic, they did say in an upcoming update, they will be adding Lucky Coins to my account to make up for the problems I had but there wasn’t any specifics.

    They have now given me back my progress from 1st of December. But I didn’t get back the karts that disappeared. But they sent me first 200 gems because of the bug, then 500 gems to purchase a new kart and then 500 more for upgrades to the new kart. So now I have my progress back in Stunt and I have a kart in stunt, but it’s not as upgraded as it was before, even after spending all the gems.

    I received feedback regarding this game. So far I received 1200 gems but that is not nearly enough to cover the loss for upgrades. I had to repurchase my kart for stunt track. My progress is continued but I had to spend my gems to rebuild my Rocky Road kart and Air kart, so the 1200 doesn’t cover much considered I spend the 400 for stunt kart. Considering each upgrade without gold coins will be 30-70 gems each, I am still short on Rocky Road but it is better than nothing. I expressed my disappointment and asked for reconsideration since the cost for karts increases substantially as you get further in the game. If it was all for the Seedway, 1200 gems would go really far, but it isn’t.

    Also, I received Lucky Coins for the Holiday mishap on Epic. So I am happy with their support there.

    Hello, I’m one of the newest member of the Angry Birds Nest community and I am happy to be welcomed aboard.

    Anyway, I know just how you all feel about losing your karts. My progress is okay, I still have all the characters, my Sub Zero Karts and Telepod karts that I’ve unlocked, and so on. But when I updated the app, some of my karts have downgraded.

    Seedway: Iron Bolt > Semi-Skimmer

    Rocky Road: Royal Snout > Beach Buggy

    Air: High Flyer > Sardine Sailor

    Stunt: Wall Magnet > Soda Supreme

    In addition, other karts have not only downgraded, but require me to purchase them again.

    Rocky Road: Punch Box > Cap-ster

    Air: Tub Thumper > Soapy Slider

    Stunt: Point Breaker > Weaver XT

    I contacted Rovio about the issue and got 1200 gems to make it up to this issue after creating a Rovio Account. I used the gems to purchase replacement karts, Pork Chooper (Stunt) and Woodwind (Air).

    I also recommended Rovio a feature called a “Reset Button” that allows you to reset a kart’s stat back to the lowest level AND give you bird coins back for every upgrade purchased. However, this is only recommended to be used for low level karts that can’t be upgraded any further for some strange reason. So, use the “Reset Button” wisely.

    Iron bolt + pinky Tonk + big boomer

    ==> maxed out semi skimmer, locked no upgraded music maker, locked nonupgraded tape deck

    Same for other episodes: car 1 l1 maxed, unable to upgrade, car 2 locked, car 3 locked, car 3 maxed out version available.

    Nice update and the new kart works great.

    It appears I have my progress for all the levels except for the Stunt level. It has a new content sign and I am unable to play or view my progress. Have to purchase a kart to start the game. Will load all the telepods later today and see if that changes anything in the Stunt level.

    Hope they will be releasing new telepods to go with the new karts in most of the levels.

    Its funny that I have the same issues as BL in steering on the icy levels, it is a nice challenge to overcome.

    I lost some of my progress:
    – before I had bought all the karts now it shows only 47/59, also most of them were fully upgraded and now some of them are not upgraded at all
    – all my Challenge Rounds from SubZero and Stunt are gone, I used to have more than 20 on each episode
    All the rest of the progress is OK.

    @admins: I have an idea for future posts about AB games updates: instead of just describe what is new, you could also give a recommendation. Either you say: “Recommended to download (no bugs detected)”, or you give a warning and say “NOT RECOMMENDED to download (full of bugs)”. This information would be very helpful for us and prevent the Nesters from losing scores, data, progress, achievements, purchases etc. etc.

    The problem is that when we see your post, we download the update. But someone should first test it and only if it is free of bugs the others should update as well.

    It was nice to have a premium free kart, Santa Sleigh. I noticed that I still have my data. I first have 2 gems, then I earn 6 more gems on my tablet (my device is Android). But the next day, my 6 gems that I earned lost and I’ve back with my 2 gems. Sometimes, it loses data of the day. I recommended you guys try not to connect any of your accounts to another device.

    I like Santa’s sleigh I amped it all the way and I love the new music and the blues singing la,la,la I just wish I could enjoy the multiplayer again, with all the other players using leaf b lowers in every track it’s just not a level playing field anymore and they have ruin multiplayer for me. How do they get all this leaf blowers? And were are the gift boxes I have not seen one for over a week.

    I lost all progress, is as it was installed for the first time. All karts have been removed. Only purchased gems remain the once that we’re collected during the game are gone.

    I don’t see why so many players are losing their progress. Mine was ok, not sure if my multiplayer is.

    All my karts are stunted, I had fully upgraded all of them. Now with the update, all of them have been downgraded and cannot be upgraded.

    I installed the update about 2 weeks after it came out and have no changes at all :( not getting the new theme around sub zero. I really would like the free kart but all the bugs worry me too! Any suggestions? D x

    On Jan 7th, exactly 3 weeks from losing all progress, karts, gems and such wih updating to v1.6, Rovio support was able to restore my profile in full from their backups. My wait was due to holiday staffing. They provided me wih 2,500 gems as apology. You find me on the track as ABGOFAST. The team of 10 racers are all from the Nest and you’ll find our interactions on the Angry Birds Go! Forum. We were ranked #1 in the world up until cheaters and hacker invaded the leaderboard. Rovio promises to fix the leaderboard issues with next update. Fingers crossed.

    I share his update to show Rovio cares about paying customers (I sunk some real money to this game) and ultimately fixed my situation as best they could.

    What I did was backup it all on my Rovio account, deleted the app then re installed for the update. It uses a lot of data but it works
