Angry Birds Friends Tournament Level 1 Week 79 – November 18th 2013

Walkthrough video and non power-up strategy for Angry Birds Friends on Facebook Tournament Level 1 Week 79, which began the week of November 18th, 2013. Our strategy for this level is to fling Yellow through the first balloon to release the tnt box. The resulting explosion should cause a lot of damage on the structure below, and clear most of the pigs. Then quickly send Matilda, and drop the egg bomb on the largest pile of debris. The score in the video below is 98,570.

Our Angry Birds Friends Tournament walkthroughs show you how to obtain 3 stars and highscores with and without Power Ups. If you have a different strategy feel free to leave a comment below; however, don't just post your score via the comments. Tournament walkthroughs are added weekly as new levels come out, so be sure to check the walkthrough page.

My strategy for 101K points with power ups. wingman and white bird:

By sasilik (@sasilik)Score: 97,680

90,500 with three birds. Yellow bird to take out two upper TNT’s or two lower and then clean up debris and remaining pigs with other birds. Did also one birder but score wasn’t good.

92,310 with all birds. First one between first and second TNT and dropping only third one. White bird near the first TNT and dropped the bomb. White bird popped balloons on first and second TNT. And cleaned some debris with third bird.

Found even better way. 97,680 so far. Dropped 2nd and 4th TNT with first bird. White bird quite low and dropped 3rd TNT with it. Bomb did its destruction and so did TNT. And at last blue bird with higher arc and dropped 1st TNT. TNT destroyed debris on left side, birds on right side.

Did method similar to you @sasilik, got balloons 2 & 4 with YB, then I lofted Matilda, Bloated Bird Technique, taking out balloons 1 & 3, making “all-gone’s”. I probably could have gotten higher if I cleaned up with BBB, will try that next.

I did use BBB to clean up, that helped. Still no PUs.

100,010 No-PU’s PC…

Used yellow bird to take down the globes at center (up) and right, dropping tnt… destruction below… then Matilda/White bird aiming for the nearest globe, dropping egg to the left-most pigs/ice.
As happened to me… there COULD be no need of the 3rd bird… too few debris left… but normally you will have it, so hi arc at the center of the bowl and split when start to going down.

Non-PU 2-birds:

First bird pop first and third balloons and pig to the far right. This often results in a one-birder but never(?) enough for three stars. Launch second bird before the level times out.

Second bird a little lower than the first, drop egg on the remaining rubble to the left and make sure you pop the balloon on the right to drop the TNT on the rubble to the right.

On a iPad Mini using GS (Golden Sling), 2-birds:

1) YB (no PU) on medium arc to pop first and third balloons. Both TNTs will drop. Meanwhile, the YB will continue to pop the two rightmost pigs. If all pigs pop, then your score will be 60k+;

2) Loaded WM on very steep arc to come down as close to the inside left of the “bowl.” Experiment with aiming to find the sweet spot. WM will “roll” down the inside left, through the bottom, then continue to “roll” up the inside right. As it comes back down, it will take out remaining ice on the bottom that it missed on the first pass. Don’t worry about the two remaining TNTs in the sky. No need. Fun level!

@dclxvi I forget if you’re on PC or mobile. If PC, it could be one of those levels that favors one platform over the other. I find this true for me on level 2. I can’t do better than 20th place, so far. Will try on PC later.

I have a friend on FB who recently scored 119k+!!! On a PC! Not sure how he did it, and he is ruthless. Always, well almost always beats me on FB. Won’t share his strats but just laughs :) He’s not on ABN but a similar AB gaming forum. Won’t tell me which one. ABN is the best because we share strats, mostly.

I have a hunch he is using 1) YB+KS to take out first balloon, second TNT, and fourth balloon. First and fourth TNT will drop while the second explodes in the sky for more points, then; 2) as I described, WM+SS on very steep arc to sweep down inside left, through bottom, up the inside right, then roll back down to take out remaining debris on bottom.

I tried this many times. Very difficult first shot. Only did it once, then I screwed up on aiming the second bird. Got 114k anyway, but plenty of debris left over. Dang! Still, a fun level with “hidden” options. A 1-bird is easy, but high score above 116k with 2-birds is either very lucky or very difficult, or both.

But then all of a sudden, everything just cleared out and scored me 113k.

on iPad Mini One-Birder using Wishbone Sling
1. BirdQuake and see the glass on the middle collapse
2. Wingman + SS high arc aim to the 2nd wooden triangle on left of the bowl

WM will destroy almost everything on the bottom, a good shot can make WM climbing until top of the right side.

Then it rolls back down and take out remaining ice and small cubes on the bottom

Ignore the TNTs. Enjoy :)
