The strategy for Angry Birds Facebook Surf and Turf level 40 is obvious, but we warn you in advance that this is actually a very challenging level. The strategy is to send a Red bird through the thin vertical wooden block below the rightmost pig. This will cause the crane to fall down, popping pigs as it goes. The three-star threshold is rather high for this level, so a one-bird clear is very necessary, but even still could yield too few of points. Just keep at it and you’ll get your stars.
Our Angry Birds Facebook walkthroughs show you how to obtain 3 stars, most of the time without the aid of Power-Ups (we do make exceptions). If you have a different strategy feel free to leave a comment below; however, don't just post your score via the comments, as that's what the Facebook leaderboard is for.
I did as video suggests, but with a bigger bird. He hit the same place, but got more stone blocks to fall away on the upper right. The lower left is elementary, and usually varies very little in score.
Now that I think about it, I might have been using King Sling also. Whatever the case, it was a one-birder.
I also tried shaking the level before throwing any birds, but it just seemed to hinder progress. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your quakes on this one. They are much more efficient on other levels.
If you were using King Sling, I don’t think you could have hit the same vertical, small wooden board in the video, because King Sling takes away most of the arch from the bird’s flight. Are you sure that you didn’t hit the horizontal concrete slab just above it?
@mobus1603, no I am not sure of anything. I didn’t play this level much, and it’s been almost since the level was released since I played it. But I’m going to look into it again. Thanks.
Ok, a quick 73k was enough to jog my memory. You do have to use super seeds and king sling. Mobus, you are right, you cannot hit that particular small stone with KS.
What you have to do with the power ups is to aim so that your bird just barely clears the pulley up there. There’s a longer stone block that’s above the one hit in the video, and even that you don’t want a direct hit on, otherwise you won’t get the desired fallout. You want it so that the bird hits the bottom of those tiny quarter stones (there’s 3 of them sitting on top of each other). The long stone they are sitting on should take a good crack, but not bust.
This will cause all of the stone blocks to fall off the upper right plateau. Usually your bird will go all the way through it, but that’s not what you want. What you are looking for is for your bird to come back, fall back down into that small gap behind the pulley, pushing it all down to the left, so it can collapse just like you see in the video. It’s not the norm, but it’s not super rare. One bird and a few power ups to waste is all you need.
Happy shooting!
Thank you. Followed the video, used the bigger bird, and finally got three stars. This level was driving me out of my mind.
There are two little rock outcrops just behind and below the slingshot. Pull your mouse back to the bottom tip of the large one. You’ll hit the target every time. You may not kill all the pigs with the first shot all the time, but you’ll get them about 40% of the time.
Thanks for the awesome tip. Got 3 stars on about the 8th try. Happy with my 66470.
Actually I got three stars by using a quake just after the first bird hit but while everything was still toppling over. Really pushed things over the edge at that moment.
66 k, 1 bird, no [p/u] find a spot for the cursor where the bird just, barely, clears the little wheel. That way the two pieces of wood that the structure is sitting on will get dragged to the left.. not very rptble, even when using the same point, just keep trying. the bird almost kisses the wheel in passing.
[66,580 no pu]… believe it or not, you have the time the shot so that brick on pendulum is swinging out when the topple starts. If the brick gets caught in the debris it holds up the destruction. the brick has to clear a plank that shoots up, & go over it on the bottom left of the Full Screen, the tail of my cursor just touches the box with the [-] sign. couldn’t figure out the differing results from the same place, until I figured on that swinging brick.
[67,800],,, when you can get that swinging brick to sit right on top of the board sticking up that the 5th pig is on.!!![[[***if you just want 3 Stars, wait until the brick stops swinging and get the angle where the two wooden blocks slide and topple to the left 63+ K]]
ps: one last thing, on the 1rst shot, top right pig has to be damaged, but alive, then you’s get the nice slide to the left.
Could you please read your comments before posting them and avoid multiple posts to describe one strategy.
I just hate this small red bird! :/
Did as the video suggested. Although the time I got 3 stars, everything went according to plan except one pesky little porker decided it didn’t want to fall to it’s demise so I threw a Bird Quake at it and got 3 stars(love this power up!).
I am unable to get more power ups, so depends mostly on non power up strategies. The same shot as the video shows, the rest is some luck
Perhaps exasperating would have been a better description for this level and a few other things that I wrote which were immediately censored, I can’t understand why, I was only describing the finer points of Hog feeding, oh well, what the heck, this level was designed as an anti-communist propaganda tool to drive the Russians insane, too bad it’s affected me as well.
Not even PU’s can save you from the misery caused by this level, I barely made it with a marginal 3 star score.
you have some great commentary Werewolf, lol…. it’s a kick to read…. anyhow here’s a video using the same strategy only with a slightly different arc which doesn’t cause the red bird to get stuck like in the video …. 63,200ish i think…. no power ups….plus i give a generous zoom-in on the exact pointer location at release point — what a guy…. good luck

Actually, this is one where Power-Ups help a lot. You should read Bill’s description above. It works.
Found this level tough, only after trying @dollarbill2208 strategy, did I finally break the 70k! Thank you!!
Video for 83k using the Gold Slingshot, SS and KS: http://youtu.be/PvQCroe9otM
I was wondering if anyone would go back to these levels
more power now
@bambenio, you cannot begin to imagine… ;)
Jingle Slain SS/KS Wingman, and send to upper platform, through the crane, and pushing the stone debris over the back side. Wingman bounced off wall and too out most of the lower platforms. Red bird to closest wood structure on left side of screen. 93k
@sal9, This “SuperWingman 1” has been at it again. Just look at the scores in Surf & Turf…….Top scores are impossible to obtain, unless the hack/cheat program is being used. Scores are way beyond what myself, and other players (Conngo, xpogi) have achieved.
I know now these are not typo’s…….
Regards
Tom
Used all the birds and the new bouncy sling in conjunction with the Jingle Sling.
