Below is our gameplay walkthrough that will help you beat Angry Birds Epic Magic Shield Level 1. The single Pyropig doesn’t stand a chance, but just to make sure… Use Bomb’s sacrifice to make Red’s attack stronger and always defer Chuck’s attack to Red.

The enemy is now a level-15 Inferno Pig with health of 5850. The Pyro Pig in the video is 4500. Does anyone know what it takes to beat him now?
Also, I’ve never found red’s blue wand, which I think must allow him to stun the enemy. Anyone have any idea where to get it?
I’m now level 17, and the pig is still 5850, thankfully, but I still don’t have a heavy hitter that can stun. Impossible to beat, I think.
Should have added that a normal weapon with stunning power of 5% won’t cut it. I don’t know what the % is for the “soft hammer”, but it must be pretty high? @ice-bird99???
Finally got 1 star with no stunning (not even once with the 5%) and lots of snow apple juice #1 (9?) and hot veggie cake (another 9?). The next level looks even harder without an effective stunning weapon.
My pig is in level 15 too but he has 6660 hp. Strange…
Oh, sorry. My pig is in level 16 and 6660 hp. But I’ve defeated him easily with Red in Samurai (plus Stun Weapon bonus), Matilda in Druid and Bomb in Cap’n. Protect with Red, heal with Matilda and dispel with Bomb. Use Rage Chili on Red (if you want to deal a strong damage on Inferno Pig) or Matilda (if you want to heal your birds).
One more thing: My Red has a set item Primal Spear, Matilda has the off hand item of set Yang and The Blues has the Hunter’s Bow.
I am level 36 and Inferno’s health is about 11000. I used Red(Samurai), Matilda(Druid) and The Blues(Tricksters). Protect your birds with Red’s shield and DON’T USE THE RED’S RAGE ATTACK(Unless you can finish him off with it). Use Matilda’s healing song instead. Although the Blues died in the end, I K.O.ed Inferno by using my red rage attack when he was about 1000 and my rage attack was 2100.
NOTE: MY Red has 2100 health, Matilda has 1700 heal and The Blues 1000 health.
@mvnla2 is blue wand you are talking about is called ‘soft hammer’ and is a great way for killing that pyropig and the other 4 ones. Unfortenately this weapons is only obtainable by using the golden pig machine. 20 golden coins ( Bigger change ) and 3 golden coins ( smaller change ).
Fling on!
MajesticFlinger
@ice-bird99 — Thanks! I really need some more rolls on the Golden Pig machine. Grrr.
@mvnla2 Any item that has a stun ability is 5% odds, unless it’s a set item which has 8%.
@AMSlimfordy — Thanks for letting me know. However, in the videos, the stun ability seem to happen much more often than 5%. Does that mean you tried the level a huge number of times until you got the stuns fairly frequently?
@mvnla2 That’s not how probability works. Suppose Red attacks once. A random number generator spits out a number (say between 1 and 100). If that number is 1,2,3,4,or5 then the stun is effective; if not, it fails. Each round’s random number is completely independent from any other, so it’s POSSIBLE to get a bunch of 4s in a row by sheer chance.
Now there are ways to increase your chance of success by pure mathematics. Suppose Red does a “triple attack”. Each attack generates it’s own random number. If ANY of those three numbers are 1,2,3,4,5 then stun is effective; otherwise it fails. This jury-rigs the probability of success to about 14.26%.
@Amslimfordy — I do understand the basics of statistics. What do you mean by Red doing a “triple attack”?
E.g., Samurai’s attack of 3x 50 damage.
@amslimfordy, the pig’s name is Inferno Pig, not Pyropig. Inferno Pig is an upgraded version of Pyropig, with stronger damage and a secondary skill which lasts longer than the Pyropig.
I have 2starred this pyropig using lightning chuck veteran spies blues and samurai Red. Red armed with titanwrath (so armed with a stun) and chuck using lightning fast on Red, while blues smoke bombing. When heavy damage occured, i used blues’s passive on The harmed one. For The fury ability i always used chuck’s one, for The extra probability of stunning.
Good game, SirSbo.
You don’t need a stun to beat this level. I did it at level 15, but it might be possible to do it earlier.
Lineup:
+ Samurai Red – Important for Defensive Formation
+ Rainbird Yellow – Group Heals
+ Cannoneer Black – Important to lower Inferno Pig’s attack power so you take less damage.
My lowest health bird was Yellow at 424.
Start off the first round and attack with all three. Keep this up until the pig is one round away from attacking. Before Inferno Pig attacks, make sure use Defensive Formation (Red’s ability) on your lowest health bird (mine was yellow). Do this before every attack. Make sure you target the lowest health bird so it gets the 50% damage reduction. Make sure you’re always attacking with Black (don’t bother with his counter attack move) so the pig’s attack power boost is limited. After the pig attacks, just keep healing with yellow.
Rinse, repeat, kill.
I used Princess Matilda instead of Chuck. Her healing powers are stronger and in the first couple of rounds she deals far more damage than Chuck. I gave the rage chilli only to her, to keep all the birds in relatively good health. Of course Red’s defensive formation is crucial to repell pig’s attacks.
How I (level 17) consistently get 2-3 stars without a weapon w/stun:
Lineup – I mention the weapons but they’re not necessary:
> Red Veteran Samurai (weapon: 30% chain atk, obv not applicable here)
> White Veteran Bard (weapon: 15% crit)
> Blue Veteran Rogues (weapon: 20% dispel)
Strategy:
In the beginning, just attack with all 3.
Even if he uses Heavy Fire Power (+30% atk), continue to attack.
Once he charges his Firestorm, if you’re at/near full health, have White attack first. If she manages to stun him, great! now attack with Red and Blue. If she doesn’t stun him, or if you decided to heal with her instead, then have Blue target any of the birds (Doesn’t matter which since he’ll be hitting them all) and have Red defend.
From here on out, it’s rinse and repeat/using your best judgement.
One more thing I forgot to add – if/when you get full chili, use it on Blues. It will not only dispel his power up, but it’ll do decent damage and buy you an extra turn for healing/chance to stun with White.
I completed all 5 magic shield stages with the following (1 star – 2 star), lv15
– samurai red (shield every time pig attacks)
– tricksters blues (for 100% dispel)
and either
– cannoneer black
OR
– bard white
chilli always on blues
Thank you so much for the info. I have been stuck on those guys for weeks. I did need to use the ice apple juice but I made it through with God combination suggested. If the is an angry bird karma wheel. May it spin in your direction many times my friend
I’m level 16 and he’s got 6660 health. I’ve gotten him down to 1000 health but can’t beat him. Help please!!
My win rate is 100% with the following lineup and strategy:
Red Bird Samurai (Use secondary skill always turn before Pyropig casts firestorm)
Matilda Druid (Heal always when birds HP is below 80% and Chili when birds are very low HP)
Blue Tricksters (You need it for removing Pyropig buff use Chili when birds have high Hp)
Only problem I have is that I fail to get 3 stars, I always end up with 2 stars.
I’m level 15 with no extra guns! This is working great with no pay gold coins either have extra guns with stun.. But yeah, 2 stars! (I have tryied several times, i finish with 3 birds more then half energy and just 2 stars! Maybe we have to kill pig more quick.. So i will try again later, with bigger level and more guns!
Thank you at all!
What about replace Tricksters with Cap’n (if you have him)? That works for me. (Note: I’m at level 17 while the pig is at level 16 with 6660 hp).
I only got 2 stars with the trio recommended by the writer of this page. I got 3 stars easily with cleric (critical weapon), cannoneer (chain attack set), and treasure hunters (dispel weapon).
I’m sure a critical hit weapon would work just as well for bomb and maybe even a different headgear. Treasure Hunters were the key. Their stun with the rage chili ability and their ability with their normal attack to turn back a charge meter kept me from even being attacked.
I’m replaying the game once again and, now I remember why I hated all Magic Shield bosses so much…
