Angry Birds is coming to yet another platform — Roku, maker of the popular streaming set top box that allows people to access streaming services like Netflix and Hulu Plus. Initially, the three main versions of Angry Birds will be available: Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio. Exactly when the games will be available and how much they’ll cost is still unknown.
I think this could be a cool differentiating feature for Roku and a good partnership for Rovio. That said, I do have a few questions:
- How will the controls work? Will you have to purchase a yet-to-be-announced Roku video game controller? I don’t think it’ll be much fun controlling it with the standard Roku remote control.

Will Rovio be able to stay on top of updating the Roku version? In my opinion, this seems to be one of the biggest challenges facing Rovio. When people purchase a game — even if it’s only a couple bucks — they expect updates within a reasonable time frame of everyone else.
We know Rovio is working on Angry Birds Sync, so let’s hope part of this initiative will sync up updates as well. To Rovio’s defense, they can’t always control when updates will actually arrive, as is the case for the latest update to Angry Birds Rio for the Mac. Rovio stated that they delivered the update to Apple about a week ago, yet Apple has not yet pushed it out to the Mac App Store — much to the chagrin of those who play AB Rio on the Mac.
- How the heck will you unlock Golden Egg #6 that’s hidden in the treasure chest?!?!
As another bonus, Roku users will also get access to an Angry Birds channel where they can watch videos and even purchase Angry Birds swag. No word on if any of the content will be exclusive to Roku or not.
Hooray! That means that it only took Rovio until the 25th to work out Rio Beach Volley for Mac.
Do you think that Angry Birds would come out for Internet Connected TVs, and other boxes like the Boxee? What do you think the chances are that Roku got Angry Birds to make a deal that they will be the only box that has Angry Birds for a while?
It’s possible, but all of these would require a game controller and the power to support the game. I think Internet Connected TV’s is doubtful.
There is a bug on Angry Birds seasons free. I have deleted it many times trying to get it off of Game Ceture and it won’t LEAVE!!!!! Please tell me how I can get rid of it!

I purchased Rio thru the demo and got activation key. Once installed I had 3 stages including Beach Volley. There are 3 stages that say coming soon on the main screen. How do I get access to the next level Papaya?? Thanks.

You will have to wait for the next update before you can play the next episode, which in this case is Carnival Upheaval. Unfortunately I have no ETA on when the next update for the PC will arrive.
how to update my angry birds rio pc version?
How do I get to level 17-1 in mine and dine it says coming soon? I have the roku version.
