Happy Birthday Angry Birds! The Angry Birds “Birdday Party” update (v2.0.0) is now available for iOS, Mac, PC, Nokia, and Android via the Android Market and Amazon AppStore. This update — which Rovio announced a few days ago — celebrates the two year anniversary of Angry Birds! And coincidentally, we also wish a very happy birthday to Bird Leader as well (who is just a wee bit older than 2)!

Notice to all users: An update numbered v2.0.2 is making its way around and includes several bug fixes. It has thus far landed for all platforms, I beleive (Mac, PC, Nokia, iOS, and both Android ports). These improvements include: Fixing the “Scores Ending in 9” bug, Golden Egg #1 missing from Mac/PC, trackpad sensitivity issues on Mac, Facebook levels being permanently locked, and more.
This update includes:
- 15 new levels, some of which are very challenging. We have video walkthroughs available if you need help.
- A secret achievement that is a bit challenging to unlock (video walkthrough).
- One more Golden Egg, which is revealed in our Complete Golden Eggs guide.
- Big change to the Golden Egg levels, to achieve the star you now have to surpass a minimum score, much like a normal level.
- The Orange/Globe Bird is now available.
- A brand new pause screen that is being dubbed the, “Rovio Channel”. Note: There seems to be no way of disabling this, which I know many will find a bit frustrating.
- New “Level Completed/Failed” screen that is quite similar to the one seen in Rio.
- One of the pause menu items shows a map of New York with the words “Coming Soon”… Interesting, at least.
Rovio has said, “It’s a cool new feature we’ll be experimenting with in the future”. - Pro Tip! Birthday Cakes are worth 3000 points!

I have a question about the secret achievement. Does info about This sort of thing get leaked, or do hardcore fans figure it all out?
Some secret achievements occur naturally during gameplay. Others — such as the Secret Cake in Birdday Party — are discovered by our awesome members here at ABN. Without them, we would be far slower at finding such hidden things.
Another great example is the Golden Egg in Summer Pignic 3.

slim, rovio just released a new update for Angry Birds Rio PC, i think it might be version 1.4.1 but not sure, ill look when done downloading it for PC

Android does not have achievements, but there will still be the cutscene when obtained.
I wonder why iOS gets the updates USUALLY before android…
Im just taking a guess, but didn’t Angry Birds show up on iOS before any other devices. If so, maybe thats why. iOS is popular these days

There is no estimated time of arrival.
These cakes are really hard to destroy compared to other “bonus” items. Does anyone have any tips on destroying them besides launching a bird at it?
Try to get them to fall with a ton of objects, that does the trick.
Try to have unbroken things fall on the cake,(stone or wood) or harve the bird break to it.
Will PC/Mac users expect ME with this update, as an answer by Rovio to a tweet said- Soon!.
Not that I am looking for much more but I am happy with the current updates for PC.

Android should be this week or next; Nokia is a slightly different development than other mobile devices, and Mac/PC should arrive soon as well.
okay so slim, this is what i think rovio should do for the original Angry Birds and Angry Birds Seasons:
1. The Original Angry Birds will probably end with 500 levels (+Golden Egg levels) (so 200 more levels + how ever many more golden egg levels)
2. Angry Birds Seasons will also probably end at 500 levels (+Golden Egg levels).

I don’t think Rovio is planning on ending any time soon, let alone at some predetermined value.
but why you guys are so desperate to end the angry birds…..this is ridiculous. i mean we all love angry birds so much and at the same time you are predicting its end…. At one end Rovio is posting video for 500 million downloads and here we are doing its opposite… Can any one of u guyz explain me in detail regarding the end??

i think that it will be foolish thing to talk about its end.. According to me, Rovio is going to stay evergreen like EA Sports, Need for Speed etc, as intersted people in the area of softwares and graphics can join their team and contribute..
The end is near! God hate sinners, but loves angry birds… The paradox is that playing too much (or too little) AB is a sin as well.

The site runs perfect on my computer and we have satellite Internet called Hughsnet. It sucks, BAD! We have a download limit of 200MB per day and if we want more MBs we have to pay $5 to have 200 more MB’s. While everyone else has AT&T and Comcast with unlimited downloading. we can’t get them because we’re within a hundred feet of getting either of there services.

Actually it does. In the original Angry Birds, when you fully three starred a section, you got a Golden Egg. In fact, between Angry Birds, and Angry Birds Seasons, this would be the first section that you did not get a Golden Egg after completely 3 starring a section.

I guess Slim’s referring to the “big three star item”. But yeah, you get a bonus level for 3 starring a section.
That’s not a “Big Item” — it’s just a Golden Egg.
So will there be a golden egg for 3 starring everything?
There is not one at this time. It is unclear if it will be added at some later time.

Did u know that with this update there are exactly 800 levels available for iOS? :)
(AB+ABF+ABL+ABS(WtH counted as25 level)+ABSF+ABR+ABRF)
also there are 2400 stars to get and 725 feathers to achieve! additional ther are 82 fruits (rio only), 55 eggs (AB+ABS(wreck the halls counted as 2eggs/bonus)), and 213 achievements (some yet unachieveable).
Just wanted to tell you if you are interested in statistics as much as i am =)

All three games run perfect on my PC with ABSOLUTELY no lag at all (with the exception of some sound stuttering)

Hey birdleader, i actually meant anyone lag whatsoever on the angry birds games and do you have iCloud enabled on your 4S? I have iCloud disabled on my iPhone 4 because it’s a major source for lag.
Hey slim, could the sound stuttering problem with my angry birds games be because i have an outdated sound driver? If it is, is there any way i can get a sound driver update for free?
Not my area of expertise, but it sounds plausible. You can likely check with your PC’s manufacturer about updating drivers. For example, dell.com will provide you with such updates (free) if you have such a PC.
