Angry Birds Birdday Party Cake 3 Level 5 (19-5) Walkthrough

Our strategy for Angry Birds Birdday Party (Birthday Party) level 19-5 is to try to detonate the TNT on the right side with the Red bird, though this is not entirely necessary. If the right tower still stands, use a Pink bird to float it into oblivion. Otherwise, send a Pink bird straight ahead, lifting the left side of the structure and detonating the TNT there. The score in the video below is 95,900.

I did this level differently. Shoot the red bird into the end of the platform on which the left TNT rests. If you get it right, the TNT will be propelled so that it explodes against the stone support and collapses it. Then shoot the pink bird at about 45 degrees to knock over the roof of the far structure and pick up the TNT. If you get it right, the TNT will float a little to the left and explode against the wood, pushing a lot of the remaining debris down the slope to the left. This should get you at least 100-105k. But be warned that there’s a lot of randomness in this level. The stone never seems to collapse the same way twice, and it’s hard to get that TNT to do what you want it to.

I previously had a two birdie for 104,000 with the same first shot. The middle structure was damaged some and leaning left.
Then I sent Pink bird to cut through the little rope in front left. The stone dropped, igniting tnt and then her bubbles pulled out the cement planks and the middle structure continued on the fall left.

If you’re struggling to get 3 stars, here’s another strategy that may be easier for you:
First bird: low to take out the dynamite on the left. A good shot will clear most of the structure to the left of the chocolate cake.

Second bird: land it just to the right of the chocolate cake. Enough debris should float up and drop to clear out the remaining blocks and hit the right TNT to clear the right tower.

took me a while to find a high scoring strategy (other than the 1-bird strategy mentioned) for this level but i think i have found one. two birds:
first bird) the goal is to destroy the left structure (to the left of the brown cake) and get 45k+ by it. to that end shoot through the rope of the small boulder. given the randomness caused by the presence of the bird, its mad hat and the tnt it is hard to determine what is best so experiment yourself, but directly hitting the left tnt didn’t seem to work out well. in my case i obtained 45k+ scores every few minutes. (often you have to wait a bit while one of the hats is doing its destabilising/destructive work; complete destruction is in fact not necessary, it’s sufficient for the left structure to be unstable enough to be pushed over by the next shot.)
second bird) the goal is to get the pink bird to rest on top of the horizontal brick in the pit where the tnt is, and to lift that brick: on the one hand for the brick to set off the tnt and destroy the rightmost structure, on the other hand to make the structure fall down by taking away its support, and on the gripping (third) hand to destroy what is left of the structure with the cake on it by dropping whatever the bubbles carry on top of it. the tricky thing is to get her there at all. to achieve it make her directly hit the vertical part of the wood holding the tnt (use a trajectory a bit lower than the trajectory of the red/first bird in the video). this is the only way i think: on a lower trajectory it sets off the tnt. on a higher trajectory it will hit stuff and start its bubbly activity too soon. that’s a small target to hit and a moving one at that (the right tower was unstable often, slowly shifting to the left, thereby also narrowing the gap for the bird to go through. sometimes the gap became too narrow and once the tnt even dropped giving me a 1-bird clearance, but with lots of hopeless debris. don’t know whether the unstability is caused by the first shot or not).

that’s all. simple/non-critical first shot; tricky/critical second, but if it works out, it works out well.
for my current score of 111,190 destruction of the left structure was good but not optimal and destruction of the middle part could have been better (but made a split second decision to play it safe and not use another bird on the debris there); only the right structures fell perfectly. there should be at least 5k more in this strategy.

glad to see the strategy vindicated. in order for lifting to work i would suggest to put sufficient amounts of (angry)birdseed in your bowl next time. in the unlikely case that fails, i think the slab is lifted also when the pb is a bit higher (after bouncing). but i’ve not experimented much. after some initial calibration i stopped after getting 110k+ on my third successful attempt. fourth if you also count my chance discovery of this when i was flinging the pb to set off the tnt by cutting the rope (to see what its bubbles would lift anyway), but missed and was surprised to see the slab being lifted detonating the tnt, yielding a good score (i was experimenting with what was best to do with the pb after destroying the left structure with the rb, the strategy described above by @sdultimate being another possibility).

The second shot I could never get an exact aim on but it’s somewhere between the middle and top part of the center structure, if it hits right she’ll push the boards towards the top structure and lift enough stuff to smack into the TNT and the top structure further aiding in pushing everything to the right. I couldn’t break higher than I got but I did see a lot of high 105+k totals before I finally got my score. I can see higher ones I just couldn’t get enough breakage to get there. I was stuck at 98k for the longest time when I used your strategy @vuelva so tried it a few times with a slight adjustment on where to aim rb. Instead of going through the rope to drop the stone on the tnt I aimed at the wood corner under the left pig. That caused the tnt to bump against the vertical stone plank and collapsed the left structure, giving an average of 40k+points. The second bird I aimed above the brown cake and when she hit the side of the wood triangle pieces I activated the bubbles. This made the structure on the far right to lean right and a gap wide enough so that when the bubbles burst the wood triangles fell right and left, tnt detonated and a surprising amount of debris destruction.

Good variation on this strat @kimmiecv and nice score both you and @kathy, too. See you at the BP for a few sunuppers!

By to mock a mockingbird (@vuelva)

prompted by your comment @sweetp i just replayed the level and found that game play is rather different after the latest update. in particular the mad indestructible hats have turned into quiet evaporating ones. this renders many of the original strategies for world 19 obsolete and i guess makes it impossible to get to high scores for levels relying on the hats (e.g. 19-12,19-14). i do not think this change “improves the user experience” as rovio writes for this update; it rather frustrates players (my scores are pretty good for these levels but still); also, it is a far larger change than the usual ones which e.g. stabilize a structure by adding material; this one affects all levels in world 19; it changes the physics.

for the current level the hats do not seem to play a major role for the amount of points to be had, (from playing it for five minutes the level seemed even to have become easier) but my aim for the first bird as written above, did rely on the hat and indeed does not work anymore. sorry for that. i guess strategies and (also some of) the walk through videos should be updated.

Rank: Sling God with 26715 points
By SweetP (@sweetp)

You’re right, @vuelva. The hats have had no effect at all in the physics or scoring since the update, so many of the strategies on placement have not worked for me. In fact, the hats disappear whenever they land. It has been very frustrating for me, not being able to get better scores and wondering what everyone was talking about.
It’s not your fault (or anyone else’s for that matter) that these strats don’t work. For the most part they’ve been very helpful (since I decided to go through ABO again) and I really appreciate all those who contribute their alternate methods. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t challenge myself to get better. Also, playing on an Android device is a frustration in itself, not getting scores like those on other platforms. I also have to keep reminding myself that these walkthroughs were written awhile ago, so there’s no need for apologies and they provide basic guidelines to getting through these levels.
Thanks again to ABN for this site, and everyone for sharing their experiences and thoughts! Good luck and happy bird flinging!

I used this method of taking out the left tower first. After many untold hours and hundreds of flings I found the ‘sweet spot’ to bring down the left tower and pigs. And it is a very easy shot.

Hit the outside vertical wood or top corner of the wood box the TNT is sitting on. This will ‘push’ the TNT to the right and up. The TNT push to right causes the base of the left tower to collapse and the TNT blast is directed up to kill the 2 pigs or for them to slide down and die… If really lucky sometimes the cake might follow.

If you are going for high score or top 100 ( at 104,700+ at this time), if the left tower and any of the two pigs are still there……. reset!

The hard part was the second shot. I went high and down the space before the right tower to the TNT, the best is to hit the TNT directly for a blast that will clear the right tower and the all the remaining pigs on the right side. Also if really lucky, might get the cake too. Need to get this bird past the ledge on right tower to get deep enough to take out more pigs and debris.

I found to get enough points to get over 100k I needed the cake points. My cake did seem to be made out of rubber and can bounce around quite a bit without breaking!

The second bird is aimed high to cut the cord, explode the TNT and then lift the horizontal stone (you might need to trigger the lift power for better effect).
