We have received so many questions related to Angry Birds 2 that we’ve compiled a comprehensive FAQ to help provide a one-stop shop for answers. - Q. Is an internet connection required?
- Yes, sort of. It’s required only when you launch the game for the first time (officially stated by Rovio). Internet is also required for an initial download after updating to a newer version.
- What’s the max number of lives you can obtain?
- Typically, it’s 5, but for some people it could be 10 as a result of testing the game. If you’re lucky, you can increase the lives from 5 to 6 via a special offer.
- Is the card (bird) order always the same?
- Nope, it changes every time you start a level.
- What do Strike, Birdie and Headpop mean?
- Strike means you completed a room of a level with just one bird, and that grants a bonus of 25K points. Birdie means you completed a room with two birds, and that grants a bonus of 10K points. Headpop is awarded when you hit a pig directly with a bird. Be advised that the bonus points might be lower in the first levels.
- Do the changing levels have any impact on the score?
- Supposedly not. Rovio officially stated that you can pretty much achieve the same score regardless of the structure layouts. Personally, the layouts have made significant difference for me.
- Is my Angry Birds 2 progress saved?
- It depends. For Android, if you connect to Facebook your progress will be saved there. For iOS players, your progress is saved through Game Center.
- What is the Arena (video below)?
- The Angry Birds 2 Arena is a daily tournament in which you compete against 14 other players across the world. Arena levels are endless, with the objective to win bird feathers and advance through the leagues (from Vanilla to Diamond). The higher your score, the higher your rank, and the higher your rank, the more feathers you’ll win. Be advised that an internet connection is required to participate in the Arena. The Arena is unlocked after completing Level 25. A first look video is below.
- What do the feathers grant?
- With feathers, you can increase your birds’ ranks (level up). Higher ranking birds are more powerful, causing more destruction, which means you can obtain more points and earn extra cards quicker.
- What are the red and blue presents found in levels?
- If you collect a red present, after completing the level you’ll receive either a spell or some bird feathers from that present. If you collect a blue present, after completing the level you’ll be able to send that present to a friend (if you’ve connected the game to Facebook).
- What does the Golden Pig do?
- Popping a Golden Pig immediately fills up the Destruct-O-Meter, which earns you an extra card.
- How to achieve a large number of points?
- Try to do Strike or at least Birdie shots while also trying to destroy as much material of the structures as you can. It’s not enough to just pop the piggies.

Why do I keep seeing little golden teddie Bears? And what do they mean?… Thanks.
There’s a pig with a pink gun that shoots at your bird if it comes near. If it hits your bird it changes it into a teddy bear, a rocket, a stone, a balloon, and if ur lucky it may even turn into a golden pig.
How does a player customise his/her picture in ‘The Arena’ from say ‘Blues 28678’ to an image of own choice?

Wen u connect with facebook (ie wen u complete a level and hit the blue present during, u will be asked to connect 2 facebook & send a gift 2 a friend) ur profile pic becomes ur facebook profile pic
I’m playing the arena quite seriously. Recently my option to watch an ad for an extra round has been removed, and my opponents are getting the points in between us… I think this is very unfair. They get two chances and I only one.. Please fix this ASAP, before I loose this week’s round.
I found that there’s a limited amount of ad plays per day and all plays decrease the same quantity, regardless of if you use it in normal game play or in the arena. So if you use a lot of them in the tournament to get through the new levels, you won’t be able to use them again even in the arena until the next day.
I must revoke my earlier words. There’s no such correlation.
Uninstaller and reinstall is how I fixed that issue but with this latest update the app won’t even open.
Same here no option to watch video to get a better score and progress in arena. I have had that option to watch a video to improve score if I’m losing,but I noticed today that it doesn’t give me that option anymore,why?

What is the maximum star rank of a gamer can achieve? (I am not mean the the bird cards max level, becsuse I know it is 8 now, but how about a daily gameplay rank what I can rank up by earn stars in the campaign and tournaments.)
I don’t think there’s a such limitation. I’m at level 40 now and need to get 205 stars to reach the next level.
I just found that in the Arena, the lower level of your opponent, the less power that your birds have, or even weaker gravitation power. If I get a level 40 opponent, I can beat him/her anytime but if I get a level 20 (or less) opponent, then I am virtually hopeless, I have no chance to win since my birds are almost ineffective. A really annoying situation to always get beaten by novice players.
Have not realised this situation fortunatelly. I am at level 25 only. But in epic there is s level limit 50 so I thougth it in ab2 too. Thanks but if you reach a level where is no higher level please tell me becsuse you will reach it before me.
I came 1st in the arena, i got my medal but i didnt get the pink gems, i hope i will have it because i worked hard to get first and get 100 gems

Happened to me too. Came first and when the tournament ended, new started without me getting any gems whatsoever inspite of coming first.
Happened also with me twice. Its really annoying to earn 380 stars in the Arena, knowing you are the first one, expecting the gems, but nothing happens, I didnt get the gems, nor the medals. And I noticed that throughout the week the players lists that I’m competeing is always changing. Sometimes often I get in a group of players who didnt win any match (they are without stars) But these groups I’m in keeps changing several times throughout the tournament week.
Make sure you guys are online. I would sign in through Facebook. Not saying that it’s mandatory, but it might help. That really sucks to place top 3 and not get your gems. Good luck!
I wonder how it is possible to create and publish walkthroughs when the structures on the field are constantly changing?!
I have notice since I have reached level 30 that I no longer get ads fir extra birds extra arenas and extra treasure chests. Is this because they are not available once you reach level 30 or is there something else going on. I still get an extra bird in the arena to help there. Somebody help me.
Same here. There are no ads anymore everywhere.
So weird. I have videos again after not having any for a week. This is really confusing.
Do away with the Starburst ads and give me back my video extras!!!
Today afternoon I got back the video extras. I already lost a lot of games in the Arena since in the recorded playings of my opponents they could get that extra card at the end but I couldn’t. A typical case that was repeated many times: I “won” a game by 300000 or more points, then my aéready empty opponent drew 3(!) cards out of nowhere and he/she won the game. Some kind of cheating but the reason is not clear.
You can buy extra birds ny spending 60 gems.
What’s really frustrating is when you watch the video for the free bird and come back out. They may have scored against you during that time but their score doesn’t reflect it. It wants you to keep using gems for extra birds, it looks like you’ve beaten them but you actually haven’t.
I have reached level 500 and can’t get any new ones how do i go about that?
That’s the last one currently. Further levels will come with later updates. Each update adds 20 new levels to the game.

The new update won’t open! I uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked but as soon as I connected to face book it quite again. Fix it please!
Your update has caused me to be kicked off at log on and I am no longer able to play angry birds 2. It happens every time. I can still log on and play other angry birds games on my iPhone 6 Plus and have been playing AB 2 on it for months. Fix it please.
My Red is an overlord. He’s one of only two I’ve ever seen. What does that all mean? He’s been an overlord since about the beginning of the vanilla league battles. Surely, others have slung over 1000 pigs? In the azure league, I almost never play anyone lower than me, both personally and bird-wise. LOL, I’m an Angry Birds nerd! I’m so addicted. Better than other things, though. At a personal level 20, I have two level five birds, the rest are 4’s. Am I the “best youngest” in my league? Is that why I’m overfloorded? Is that how great I am? Please help now. I need to know. You Azurites are bloody difficult to beat. I have to strike out almost every time to properly beat you guys. Also, some of you are definitely computerized. Why am I an overlord?

Does your Red wear a cape? Mine does but the only thing I’ve noticed is I have six hearts instead of five.
Capes, crowns, frames,are from winning tournaments. The 1 extra heart is from a special deal that they randomly offer for $10 and gives you that extra heart and a few other perks
Don’t make me need an angry birds 2 fix ever again! That was unpleasant and dreadful. But level 224 is also just that.
Why won’t the game move onto level 346 its been sitting on 345 with the 3 stars for 3 days
It’s ok everyone i fixed it myself I replayed that level and passed it again and it moved onto 346 thanks to everyone that replyed?
What I’m hating now is when I get a match with some one who’s feather color is higher that mine….it’s harder to beat them in an even match and unless you have plenty of spells to use it’s hard. Would love to always play matches with someone of the same color feather but do like a challenge sometimes as well.
I have those same struggles, for the most part I enjoy the challenge as well until it gets dwn to the nitty-gritty and I’m high up on the numbered bulb ranks and am faced with being outmatched with higher leveled up birds ?
Many levels can be beaten with a single bird. Especially earlier in the game. Find the sweet spot that sets off the chain reaction and knocks everything down. I beat higher level players constantly by knowing these “sweet spots”.
What are the stars for?
Can anyone help please every time I play ABF as soon as I have thrown the first bird it logs me out of the game just can’t play it anymore.Thanks

I’ve noticed that, when starting a level, ESPECIALLY in “Arena” mode, players sometimes start with 7 birds, and I always only have 6. Why is that? I’ve watched youtube videos as well have seen other players also start with 7 birds. Again, I never start with more than 6. I do not understand this. Please help. ..
When people opt to use spells it gives them and extra card so it shows a higher card count and may seem to look like more birds…but it’s not…I think
Do I lose my arena tickets at the end of atournament
rmy two plays were saved and moved forward when the tournament was reset this week.
I clearly won 1st place the past week’s tournament in Angry Birds 2. But I did not receive anything and the tournament just reset on its own, clearing my 300+ stars collected over the week…
Anybody else experience this???
3 weeks before also, I had been on a particular league and noticed about 2 days into the tournament, all the players had completely changed; it was almost like I got switched over to another league completely…
Same happened to me (twice) this past week. The players changed during the week – putting me in a more competitive league in terms of accumulated stars. Then, when the tournament closed, I moved from 5th to 1st and received the 300 gems for 1st place.
