Okay, okay, I know most of you have probably seen this, so this is for those who haven’t, or those who want a quick laugh (hopefully that’s all of you). Have you ever wondered how Angry Birds would look and play if it were made in the 80’s? As someone who played a lot of Intellivision — specifically Night Stalker — I can say with 100% certainty that they hit the nail on head. So in closing, “WELL DONE!”.
What do think? Would you like to be able to play this throwback 80’s version of Angry Birds?
Hahaha! And of course level two is the same, only faster!
oh good lord…flashbacks to the atai days!!
That is awesome, brings me back to the Atari 2600 days.
while I still love eigties music the most, I hate retro style games. Looks really poor but it’s good laugh. I had Commodore 64 then and played all games I could find those days. I believe that vaste majority of ABN members had never seen casette player and even more can’t imagine loading game from casette player to computer.

For sure. Nothing like waiting several minutes for a tape to load to find it had not for some reason loaded properly-cue cleaning the tape player’s heads etc! :-)
But at least you could get some very good -if not recent releases- games for next to nothing.
You might care to know “Elite” is back-google “Elite Dangerous”
Well back then, now, in the future: AB is the best game ever, ever ever:)
Awesome:))
Ahh my late teens, early twenties. memory jog. table top galaxian, 10 pints of beer and usually got a bird home. what a pig i was then, turn back time.
LOL, I guess that if that were the first Angry Birds game I played I might not be here right now. XD
Lol-so true @theangrybird , I know I wouldn’t return to pong, space invaders, asteroids and donkey Kong anytime soon!! :).
Great.
Ahh, @birdleader I see you found the same article I did! Yup, technology sure has come a LONG way since then!
(and please delete my forum thread: https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/forums/topic/what-would-angry-birds-have-looked-like-in-the-1980s/ thanks!)
Thanks Birdleader for the flashback. Nice to go down memory lane to see and remember how it use to be and how far we have come. It does provide a perspective and makes one “take stock” in what we have today.
Hi @theangrybird – I wouldn’t be too quick to assume that the people who might have played that version of AB might not be here now, lol. My best friend and I both had Atari and my boyfriend had Colecovision and we’re all playing AB. I’m the youngest of our consistent top 3 in the Friends tournament. I am the only one who’s’ a regular ABN contributor but that’s because I spent years doing software QA and that’s a match made in gaming heaven! If I could get a gig (paid gig) testing AB or ABN from home…(arthritis + office doesn’t work) I would be one happy woman! Thanks for sharing @birdleader!
