Prepare to be overwhelmed by hugs, kisses, flowers, and oh so much chocolate. Love is in the air and the Angry Birds have boarded Cupid’s love train, as they are gearing up for a special one-week Angry Birds Friends Tournament! Starting February 10th, fling your way through new levels with delectable chocolate squares as a playing surface and mouth-watering cotton candy trees in the background. Looks like a delicious version of Super Mario Bros!
Information is very sparse, but there might be some new content too. New slingshot, perhaps?
While you wait, check out this week’s tournament! We have walkthroughs ready and a leaderboard needing to be tackled!
That should be nice. Been a while we didn’t see valentine in AB
Hopefully this indicates an update to Seasons….
@rost I’m pretty sure it doesn’t. Sorry.
Rovio said on twitter that they would not celebrate Valentine´s day in ABseasons this year
I am really disappointed. It seems like tournament is getting more holidays than Seasons lately.
I would not be surprised if Seasons goes away entirely. They can make more money off of Friends tournament (power ups and special slings) and it’s likely an easier and shorter development cycle for them. Hate to see it happen, but that’s my opinion.
We just had a Seasons update 2mos ago.
I know Slim, but we missed Halloween, and now Valentine’s Day. I know, I shouldn’t complain about things that have free updates, but I liked the variety in Seasons.
Yeah. It looks like tournament now gets all the special updates, Seasons once had.
It’s pity, because the holidays in seasons are permanent, you can play them over and over again. But tournament is gone after the specific time and you can never go back to the levels, playing them once more.
@trishohara Yeah, that’s why I don’t like tournament either.
Seasons used to make the holidays more exciting, but tournament just seems like a waste of time. Play it for a while, and it disappears.
@bstat – @kathi17 Yeah,that’s why i don’t like seasons at all.They late TOO much for an update.I don’t think i will handle 6 months for a single update.Disapointed on Angry Birds Seasons.
Love is in the air.. love of eggs from those greedy Pigs!!
It would be nice if Valentine’s Day would be for ios also but that does not seem to be a reality.
When one views the game, Seasons, the results are: Season 1 has 7 episodes, Season 2 has 6 episodes, Season 3 has 3 episodes and so far Season 4 has 1 episode. There is a pattern of decreasing episodes over 4 years. Rovio is sending a message of a cut back in development for the over all game.
Being true to the title there could be 4 episodes in year of Season: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Connect them to what the main title represents instead of the diversity of the world wide individual events within each season. The variations of themes and game play could go for years. Geographic/nationalistic events within each season could be interspersed each year/each season with multiple events within one season.
Just a thought
@wrw01 that’s what I was hoping seasons would be too, but it almost seems like Rovio isn’t interested in Seasons any more. I wouldn’t care if we had to pay .99 with every update, as long as it was updated!
not a bad thought…. remember though, there was not star wars I and II,nor space when SEASON 1 and most of 2 were being made…. also Season 4 could easily end up with more then the 3 episodes season 3 had, to early to tell
The only thing i don’t want to happen is for them to crank them out so fast that the quality of the levels drops (in terms of their almost perfect design at times it seems). Except i can forgive imperfect levels in tournies
I like SEASONS as well, for the variety, although star wars 2 quickly becoming up there as well… anyhow have a nice day
Maybe they’ll make an Angry Birds Holidays, but instead of holidays, we have Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, as opposed to Seasons which features holidays like Christmas and Halloween.
@lolwutburger I think they sort of did that with things like back to school and summer picnic. The difficult thing about that is that for people in the southern hemisphere, the seasons are reversed.
